Food stand sign. At least spell "Hawiian" correctly.

So this has to do with their stand at the Heritage of Aloha event this weekend (Saturday) in Santa Fe Springs. I had bookmarked this place but after my experience with their foodstand, I'm hesitant to try their brick and mortar store. So the HoA event started at 10 am. People started lining up for their stand around 9:45 am. They didn't open at 10...or 10:15 or 10:30. I finally asked they said 15 more minutes. 10:45 came and went. We finally heard 5 minutes until opening at 10:55 am. 11 am came and went. They finally opened at 11:10 am. When I finally place more order, they didn't have the smoked meats or port musubi. What a let down. So I had to order the Kalua Pig and Spam Musubi. When I asked how much longer it would be for the smoked meat, the "auntie" said at least 30 minutes to an hour...which means in Hawaiian...sometime later today maybe before we close. Food wise, it was okay. Nothing special. Definitely not food worthy of going to their store. And they didn't even provide utensils when I picked up my food. Note to whoever runs this at events. If you're not going to open until 11 am (an hour after the event begins) at least put a sign out. And if you're not going to have certain food items ready an hour after you open, do better and be more considerate to the customers who had been waiting over an hour and now walked away disappointed.

We've been coming here for years, and it had been awhile since our last visit. We were in the area and my husband was craving Lau Lau. Unfortunately, it's not served mid week. However, she did offer to make it with a 50 minute wait. We were headed to the beach, so that was not an option. Instead we ordered the 3pc Chili Peppa Chicken plate which comes with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. Although the chicken was still delicious, the chicken pieces were a lot smaller and the prices a lot higher. The food was ready fairly fast. There are a couple of tables to sit outside, but it's always a lot funnier to take the food to go and sit and one of the many picnic tables at the beach nearby.

Service was friendly and good. Food was ono grindz. Hopefully this new location does them well..

Loco Moco and Chili Garlic Chicken

I don't know what happened but the food here was gross, not sure what it was but years ago this place was amazing, the gravy for the loco move was disgusting, the chicken was cooked well but the flavor was weird, I also ordered the ahi poke and even that wasn't up to par from what I had years ago. And the outdoor tables there were disgusting.

Fried chicken and spam musubi

The fried chicken here is bomb. It's so flavorful and tatstes so good honestly probably top 3 fried chicken I've ever had. It's a small little store inside is cool has pictures of customers on the wall. The service was okay the girl in the front came off a little aggressive rather than welcoming kinda seemed like she wanted us out asap but other than really good chicken.

I wish they had half rating options. The spicy garlic CPC is a must. Docking half though because sometimes the chicken isnt as juicy and sometimes (like yesterday) it's super moist. Their poke is surprisingly good too and I typically get it when I can. Super traditional tasting.

Shrimp plate and garlic chicken

I came here 30 minutes before they closed, which wasn't the brightest idea but I needed something quick and close. I ordered a plate of the garlic shrimp with a side of the garlic chicken and the shrimp was great. The sauce and rice had wonderful flavor, but the star of the show which was the garlic chicken was not fresh. Unfortunately, the chicken tasted as if it sat out for quite some time. It had a very hard and stale crunch, not an airy crispy crunch that I was hoping for. I'll definitely come back to give them another try during the middle part of their day, hopefully next time I will get fresh chicken.

The ahi tuna poke bowl is massive. This is large. Comes with rice, squid, and seaweed.

I didn't think a shopping plaza occupied predominately by Target and its parking lot would feature some amazing Hawaiian food on the outskirts of this space. Located in a tiny sliver of a space in a row of other small businesses is a delicious restaurant serving some incredible Hawaiian food better eaten to go or on your car (yes, on, not in). This is Da Hawaiian Kitchen. Interior Inside is a small hallway leading up to the counter. There is a lot going on with multiple pictures on one wall, hand written menu on the other, and a large whiteboard with more menu items behind the register. It's a lot to take in so you'll have to take a moment to orient yourself. Once you decide what you want you'll order the food, pay, and wait outside for your number to be called. Seating There is no interior seating and outside only has two picnic tables with umbrellas to provide shade. If you're lucky you'll get those seats, although the umbrellas only cover so much. You'll see lots of people taking food home or eating on their cars where there's shade from a tree just a little ways away in the parking lot. Price For Hawaiian food, it's a bit expensive. For example, their popular fried chicken sandwich, the CPC Sandwich, is $8.64, their Loco Moco is $17, and their plate lunches can range from $16-24. Food I found all the food to be filled with flavor and fresh. Even though you see their poke on display when you receive it the fish is tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Served over rice and the sweet and briny flavors become accentuated bursts of tastiness in your mouth. The CBC Sandwich is crispy, rich in flavor with their spicy garlic sauce, and the brioche bun just continues the whole package of tastes. The different textures all work well, just as the different flavors do. It is harmony in each bite. The crispy crinkled fries are also a wonderful textural bite. Seasoned with salt and this will remind you of afternoon's after school with friends while listening to KROQ. Make sure to ask them for sauce to dip it in. The Loco Moco is massive and delicious. An island favorite, their version is memorable as they actually season their beef patties, an oversight many other loco mocos are guilty of. Smothered in their brown gravy over three scoops of rice, a combo macaroni/potato salad, and eggs anyway you like this is an island dish that'll fill you up completely. Verdict Da Hawaiian Kitchen is a great choice for looking for that fix to your Hawaiian food craving. Delivering on all fronts, from flavor to texture, you'll leave happy, satisfied, and full.

Chicken was mid at best. A bit pink inside

Food was not good IMO. I came here for the spicy garlic chicken it was barely edible. Chicken was a bit pink inside. There is a couple of people here posting their chicken plates not being fully cooked. The rice and mac was average. There is no inside seating. Only two picnic style tables outside in the hot sun. Customer service was good but i will not return. Food rating 6.5\10

Small hole-in-the-wall business! It wasn't too busy when we ordered, but the wait was about 15-20 minutes. The food is very fresh, though I'd say the fried chicken was a bit too sweet for my liking. I really enjoyed the spam musubi and macaroni salad.

I've been craving local food and went looking for a place that had combo plates and found this one. We arrived maybe 20 minutes after they opened so there was no line and we received our food pretty quickly. They do not have seating inside, but they have tables with umbrellas outside. When it's hot like it was today, going early and sitting under the umbrellas really help. Loco Moco: it was standard but I ordered the eggs over easy and one egg was over hard and another closer to over medium. Combo Plate with CPC (spicy garlic) and kalua pig: the CPC was soo crispy and good. Not spicy at all though. If you like Zippys KFC, you'll like the CPC. The kalua pig was dry and a little saltier. Their Mac salad is unique, better than the traditional Hawaiian Mac salad imo. & the portions were a decent size. I'd come back and get the CPC again. I also saw they had poke so I would try that next time. I do wish they had more options, but still decent for what they have.

This place has been on my try list for a min. I was finally able to try it & I'm so glad I did!! The girl was super nice & I appreciate she had patience when I asked about the menu!! I ended up getting a combo with half chicken half garlic shrimp!! It was delicious!! Seasoned perfectly!! I want to go back soon!! I also tried one of their lemonades & plan on trying the other flavors as well!! Not the greatest pic (sry!!) but still delicious!!

Spicy Garlic Chicken Plate with all mac
Kimberly P.

[ Food ] We ordered the Spicy Garlic Chicken Plate and the large Poke Bowl (traditional); the chicken was good and moist, but the poke was so salty... The mac salad was decent. The food was pretty pricey for what it was. [ Service ] Customer service was alright. [ Parking ] There's ample parking in front of the shop.

My cousin recommended this place to me during my last visit to Huntington Beach. He was very positive as well as satisfied with the food and the service of North Shore Poke. Their overall service was undoubtedly very good, but the taste and quality of the food were the only aspects that left me disappointed! I went to North Shore Poke Co. for lunch on March 28, 2026 after my visit to Huntington Beach. The place was moderately crowded the time I got in. The interior is nicely designed, capturing a traditional Hawaiian vibe. I chose the custom poke bowl - a small bowl with Rice and Salad, topped with three Hawaiian sauces (Traditional Shoyu, Spicy Mayo, and Spicy Shoyu), along with Ahi Tuna, Salmon, and extras like Cucumber, Masago, and Furikake. I also added Fresh Spicy Tuna and Seaweed Salad, which cost an additional $4.50! What disappointed me most was being charged for the Seaweed Salad, as many other poke spots typically include it as a complimentary topping. Their service was fast, and my small poke bowl was served within 5 minutes. The portion size felt underwhelming, considering the price I paid. The taste was also below average. They claim that their fish is "Fresh", my poke bowl unfortunately didn't reflect that. Most concerning of all, the Fresh Spicy Tuna seemed spoiled and had a very unpleasant smell! When I informed them, they promptly replaced the Fresh Spicy Tuna with Blue Crab. But by that time, I had lost my appetite due to the incident and could barely finish my poke bowl. North Shore Poke Co. might be one of the top poke spots in Huntington Beach, but I would still rank The Poke Place in Rancho Cucamonga and Ahipoki Bowl in Rialto well above it. Most likely I'm not coming back to this place again!

The chicken itself was super crispy and fresh. Personally, I think the chicken sandwiches could've used just a little bit more seasoning, but overall everything was still really good. Once he found out it was our first time there and that they were close to closing, he went above and beyond and accommodated us with not one, but TWO chicken sandwiches on the house for us to try. That level of kindness and hospitality honestly made our night. We ended up getting an amazing combo with shrimp, chicken, macaroni salad, two Spam musubi, two chicken sandwiches, and two drinks -- all for only $22!!! Such a great value for the amount and quality of food we received. Danny's energy alone made us want to come back. Great customer service goes a long way, and this place definitely left a positive impression on us!

Craving some Hawaiian food and not a lot of sit down locations, I thought we would try this old staple. The service was excellent and the staff was very helpful. The seating was outside and comfortable for what it's worth. I think my mom enjoyed watching all of the passer Byers with their dogs, but when it came to her meal, I could tell she was not enjoying it as much as I thought she would. She ordered the kalua pork and felt it lacked a bit of flavor. Which I was sorry to hear. As for my combo of Korean beef and island style fried chicken, it was a bit over done. Now I typically would eat it with a pair of hashi, but I had a plastic fork that had a hard time piercing the crust of the chicken. Flavor was not bad, but not as savory as I remembered. The beef was well seasoned, but a little tough. The Mac salad was a little heavy on the pepper too. Now I believe it would be worth another try, but wished it was as good as I had remembered in the past. Again, it could have been just a bad day.
