This is a very good pho spot, a close runner up to my favorite in Phoenix, Pho Thanh. Everything was fresh and flavorful from the pork and shrimp egg rolls, the bbq pork banh mi sandwich to the DaVang house special pho. This place is so good, I always get my pho fix, 3a! Also, the bbq pork rolls are good and the fried ones too. My husband had one of Bun noodle dishes, 32?. Always great and fresh. Everything i have ordered from here has been packed with flavor and i enjoyed every last bit of it. They also have some of the best desserts here. This place was amazing! As soon as you walked in the door you could smell the deliciousness. It was clean and the food was fantastically fresh. They had a larger menu than expected, lots to choose from. Definitely get there early as it gets busy quick and the close at 8. They weren't really seating after 730 because the restaurant was full. I headed to Pho Thanh first and they were packed! So I busted out my yelp app and found this place which isn't too far so we went here. Parking was in a private lot and there were a few spaces. We walk in and the restaurant was big and packed too but we were acknowledged right away. I gave two fingers to the host and she says, "wait one minute." I find it hilarious that this statement could come off rude in which I kind of took it that way. Eh, whatever. So we get a table and we order vermicelli bowls - one with bbq pork and eggrolls and one with bbq shrimp. When we got the food, the bowls are slightly smaller than Pho Thanh. The flavor was fine. I was starving so I left nothing in my bowl. Server wasn't attentive, he placed our order, gave our check and that was it. We paid - $15 excluding tip. I prefer my first choice than here but it is a good alternative for Vietnamese food in the area. read more

This is my go to place for cheap authentic Vietnamese food. I came on a Sunday afternoon which was actually really busy, but was able to get seated in a reasonable time with my party of 3. Service was fast and efficient. The time between taking our order and bringing out our food was no more than 15 minutes which was very impressive considering how busy they were. I ordered Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk and pho. The coffee here is legit. There are some restaurants that mix a powder with hot water and sugar/condensed milk, but this place gives you the slow drip coffee directly to your table so you know exactly what you are getting. I've been to several pho restaurants in Phoenix, and for the longest time, I could not find one that I liked. After noticing all the high ratings here, I decided to try it, and this is finally the pho that I like. Turns out, I didn't realize that DaVang's has been here for a long time, and my mom used to bring me here when I was little. I loved it then, and I love it now! The prices are reasonable and the soups are so good. I can't put my finger on it, but when pho is done right, it is done right, and it is absolute heaven. Pho is one of my comfort foods, so coming here for spring rolls, pho, and maybe a dessert after a long day of work always makes my day instantly better. My friends have also been impressed with the quality of the food here when I bring them. The servers are always really nice to us. They never rush us out, even when we are indecisive about dessert and wind up spending a long time just sitting and chatting after our meal. read more

Okay the place isn't pretty and the service sometimes is really awful. But the spring rolls are the best flavor and price that I've had so far. They make shrimp only for me (I don't like the pork they use) and I love them. The Bun is good, I've tried a few versions and all have been good and reasonably priced. My husband goes frequently for lunch and is constantly trying new items and has had many that he liked enough to repeat. My family and I have have been faithful patrons of Da Vàng for over 30 years, from the time they only had 1 suite, then expanded to 2 suites, and then 3, and now four. We have planned a trip for a nice family dinner to Da Vàng for serval months, and finallly was able to go there yesterday. We casually know the family who own this restaurant, but some of their workers leave much to be desired --- particularly the older, short, skinny man who takes the orders. He never ever seems to listen to the specifics of our orders. He does not repeat back to us what we ordered, especially when asked he heard what we just said. SMH. We ordered several items and one of which was 2 extra large bowls of wonton soups. The wonton fillings were hard and the taste was sour, as though spoiled. The broth was off from what we are used to with their cooking. We ordered the spring rolls with grilled pork and chicken. The grilled pork was extra dry and tasteless. This is so unusual for them, or maybe not. We have come to the conclusion that as their reputation expands and more people are coming in, they are too laxed and banking too much on their popularity, and NOT ENOUGH on the quality of the food and services. We will not come back. There are just too many options now for good Vietnamese food in the Phoenix metroplex, to waste our money and precious time/energy on subpar food and low-level service. read more

In town for business and my first order of business was to get some Viet food. Saw the reviews and head straight to this DaVang's from the airport. Had the Pho Da Vang. It was good. Nice depth of flavor and seemed to be made from scratch. You never know anymore, as there are some pretty good instant pho "enhancers". The broth was a little sweet for my taste and for a combination, it seemed to be heavy on the tendon and light on the brisket. Like..no..brisket. Aside from that, service was quick and friendly. Best Pho in Phoenix! The broth is always amazing and has that nice bit of fatty taste you may not find in some other broths. My usual there is the Pho Tai and a limeade. The place is very clean and large (compared to most Vietnamese restaurants). Service is usually expedient, especially if you can order right when you are seated. I've never seen it busy enough to have to wait for seating. Lovely Vietnamese place in the PHX. Everything was solid. The Pho Ga (chicken) was good but be forewarned this is not just white meat. Had those lovely droplets of fat dancing around the top. Ordered the spring roll with shrimp only and like that they use a little teriyaki/soy/savory sauce where other places go for the peanut sauce. The BBQ pork in the Bahn Mi was delicious. The have things on the menu but will tell you they ran out or that it takes too long to make. Why even have it on the menu? Maybe it's because I'm Vietnamese and he wants to be candid with me but still. 3. Their food isn't good enough for service to be this bad. Like I accept at most Asian restaurants service will take the back seat. But I only come back if the foods SO good I can overlook it. TLDR Food is not good enough for the poor level of service. It's that time of year for warm food and stuffed belly's. First day that it's cold in Phoenix and I automatically wanted Pho! It was my first time here and it was pretty good. Stopped in based on a recommendation from a Vietnamese friend so were excited to try it out. We were greeted and seated right away. We started with the 48B BBQ pork spring rolls and a 75 BBQ pork banh mi sandwich, both which were amazing. I have another place I go to for banh Mi's and this blew it out of the water. For our entrees my husband ordered the 66D Spicy stir fried beef which was served with sauteed onions over a bed of rice. The dish reminded me of something that you might find in a Chinese restaurant but we both really liked the flavors. I ordered the 38 which is vermicelli with shredded pork, coconut cream, lettuce, and crushed peanut. I was expecting more of a coconut curry style dish but this dish was served with thinly sliced meat and lettuce over wider noodles with a cold thick cream coconut sauce on top. I did not care for this dish, just very strange textures and tastes but my husband ate it for me and I ate his dish. The portions were good size and I think the prices were very reasonable. I look forward to going back and trying the Pho and other menu items on a future visit. read more

Phoned in my order and it was ready by the time I drove 10mins from my office (love when restaurants are efficient with to-go orders). Some of the best most flavorful pho I've had and ridiculously cheap. Got the Pho Tai (A2) and my total was $6 out the door!?
