The owner of Dacafé Boba & Eats has opened this new business in the Loma Square shopping plaza after spending time with the chain franchise, Daboba, in Kearny Mesa. The shop is still in a soft opening phase and currently only serves drinks with food offerings not yet available until the full grand opening in another few more weeks. The suite was quite large for a boba tea shop with a dozen tables for seating and a secondary service counter in the back of the room. Because of the owner's past work history, there were common shared drinks as well as some use of materials from Daboba like the plastic seal affixed to the top of the cups. Even the business name was a derivative of the bigger brand. There was a self-service tablet for ordering near the entrance, but I don't believe it was operational at the time of my visit. Two menu screens hung above the service counter. There were multiple choices in each of twelve different categories, including Vietnamese Coffee. The items were sold in medium and large sizes at very reasonable prices. For example, I selected a large Mango Green Tea for one of my beverages. It came with boba pearls and coco jelly as toppings at a total cost of $6.50. My other drink was a large Brown Sugar Fresh Milk Tea with boba pearls included for the same $6.50 price. The tea flavor wasn't as strong as some of the competitors in the Convoy District. For now, I gave a 4.5 star rating for Dacafé Boba & Eats until I return and sample a few of the food choices.

Great selection of matcha and other teas. Hard to choose from ;-) they are using real fruits. Delicious!

Happy to see another boba shop opening up in this area! We came during the soft opening so we got 10% off which was awesome. Ordered the mango matcha & matcha cream tops - both of which the employees said were the most popular (matcha in general is the most ordered). Service was awesome and the cafe was really clean. The matchas fell a bit short for us - they were very sweet and both overpowered with the flavorings and not at all matcha forward. The mango bits and foam tasted good but more like a mango milk tea. I'd try the other drinks next time but 5 stars for everything else!

The drink and boba was perfect, we ordered the ube Vietnamese coffee and coco coffee frappe with ube cream top. Their decor is really nice and bathroom and indoor seating was kept very clean. Also the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Newly open boba shop in Point Loma Midway district. We ordered coca coffee frappe, mango green tea, boba matcha melon. The drinks are all great! The ambience is clean and bright. Would definitely comeback here again!

And then he says how sweet? And I say I don't know, that's like pant sizes for boba, right? Some places run sweet... he says "I'd go 75% sweet." I say "As long as it's not blah too sweet," and he says, nope, 75% is great. I mean, what more could you ask for! Maybe for him to be right XD I don't know what to say, I talk about boba the way book clubs talk about lit. This was a Did Not Finish for me. He was right, it wasn't too sweet, it was just... weird. (And I'm obviously a boba fan, I knew what wintermelon was!) It tastes almost like some kind of artificial sweetener, though I can't place what kind it would be. Seemed like good ambience, FWIW. Fun signs, little games to play, nice seating areas. I just couldn't get into that particular order for some reason.

The staff here was so much friendlier, hands down. I was wanting a sweet little treat so opted for the Flan Cake Brown Sugar Milk Tea, say that 5 times and it came out in a timely manner. The drink itself wasn't too sweet it was the perfect amount. I loved the smooth flan that I stirred into the milk tea, it did add some texture to my drink and the sweetness. I'll definitely come back to try their milk tea with cheese foam, I love cheese foam plus they have food options too. I really wish I had ordered their crispy chicken snacker, someone else ordered it and it looks and smelled really good. But if you're in the area definitely come check them out, their menu has so many great options, from coffee drinks, matcha, milk teas and more.

Note that many of the photos in this listing have outdated prices, but I don't think the price hikes are too outrageous. I got a relatively simple Thai iced tea with boba, and it hit the spot. If you hang out here longer, there's lots to look at, and it looks like you can also play video games on a couch? Now, that is something I've never seen at a boba shop before.

When we went in, the boba place was empty but of course with a few walk in and out which is fine. When I looked at the menu, it looked very affordable in comparison to where I am from. I ordered original black tea large with 50% sugar and ice with coffee jelly and cheese foam. I asked the lady making the drinks if the strawberry smoothie was made out of real Fruits? She said no syrup. So I learned that I can't give my toddler syrup so we ordered egg puff. My husband ordered banana milk with black tea 50% sugar and ice with no topping. While she was making the drinks, I learned that she was using nothing but syrup and powder. I tried sip of it and it was so sweet I mean so sweet I got a toothache. We both had a sip and tossed it out. Egg puff was pretty good. I am sure there's sugar and some amount of eggs. My daughter liked it. I would not recommend this place if you like drinks with powder and syrup. Pay cash it's cheaper than paying with credit card. They charge 4% with cc.

Ordering up front is also a suitable option. Note that parking here is quite easy, huge lot and it's free which is nice. Decorations here are pretty nice, good for pictures. Seating is also adequate, 1 big table, outdoor seating, and some indoor seating as well. There's also a bench near the deco which is a nice area to wait for you drinks. Pretty spacious overall. Staff is pretty quick and friendly. Drinks are pretty tasty. I'd say, pretty standard to most boba places. One thing I would highlight are the quality cups. Love the style that most boba spots have adapted and Moge Tee is similar. Their menu is quite extensive but my partner and I decided on their mango pomelo sago and creme brulee milk tea. Drinks came out fairly quick and we were decently impressed. Seems like they use real cuts of the pomelo which added to the taste of the drink. Felt quite refreshing on a cooler night which was a nice touch. The creme brulee is decent quality as well, not too sweet and it was a good compliment to the pomelo sago. Overall, a decent boba shop, very interested in returning to try their other drink options. A solid spot that I'll be returning in the future.

AVOID!! I love…read moresupporting small businesses and really wanted to like this place so I can return and send others, BUT too many issues... 1) Employees aren't familiar nor clear with ingredients, which is problematic for a diabetic 2) Basic jasmine milk tea was just shy of $10 for a large, marketed as 32oz but was quite a bit short. See pic of my 32oz Hydro Flask (she did top it off after explaining that she knew the cups weren't a full 32 ounces -of course I had to question the size first). When I asked about it, the owner seemed to know that their cups are smaller than the advertised amount but because, according to her, that's how it was marketed to them by the supplier, they didn't change it. Again, this is problematic to me. If you know the supplier is short changing you, and my guess is because you went with the cheapest cup (which may also mean inferior plastic for unwitting consumers), why in the world wouldn't you remeasure and advertise it correctly??!!! You've lost my trust in exchange for a quick buck. I'd prefer honesty. 3) Worst offense... within 30 minutes of drinking, I started feeling unwell and getting bloated. Clearly indicates to me that they either didn't disclose some mysterious ingredient or there was a problem with their sanitation somewhere -unfortunately I didn't watch her make it. Prior to this happening and me now stuck on the couch in pain, I was going to give them an extra star for quick service. It's a little shop in a small strip mall, clean enough in the table areas but unsure about the back. I didn't check reviews before walking in because somebody nearby had recommended it to me -a stranger, and I figured how bad can a boba shop be, obviously MY mistake. Gotta check YELP before I go anywhere. Had I read previous reviews, especially the one star recently about using chemicals in the same sink they make drinks from with TAP water, I would have never entered. On top of this, the taste was one of the worst milk teas I've ever had. Tasted like milk powder than real milk. AVOID!!
