DaCafe is my go to boba shop in the area! I typically would drive up to Convoy (aka Kearny Mesa) for boba but DaCafe always hits the spot and the boba pearls are the perfect texture. They offer a variety of drinks and you're able to modify the levels of sweetness & toppings. I've come here at least once a week since they've opened. My go to drink is the Thai Jasmine Green Milk Tea and it comes with boba and cheese foam. Their matcha & Vietnamese coffee drinks are delicious as well! Recently, they've started to sell Banh Mi's & I LOVE them. The pate, pickled veggies, and meat are made in house. The baguette is served toasted. I crave the BBQ Pork Bahn mi often and always goes well with my drink. I previously fell in love with their Banh Mi's at DaBoba in Convoy, as the stores are owned by the same owners. I'm absolutely thrilled they brought the Banh Mi's to this location! Perfect for lunch and/or snack in between shopping! Lastly, I come here to work from home & the ambiance is perfect to focus. They also provide free WiFi! They don't have outlets but still a great spot to go if you're wanting to have a focus session. Overall, the service is always great, very clean inside, bathrooms are tidy, and staff are friendly and supportive in helping you decide what to get. You must give them a try! read more

Really happy to have found this new cafe! DaCafe is definitely worth checking out if you're into matcha, coffee, or boba. Roasted Banana Matcha Latte really unique and surprisingly good. The Coffee Latte with Coffee Foam is also highly recommended if you're a coffee person. The boba texture was spot on and you can tell they put some thought into getting it right. I was very excited to check this place out since not having to go to Convoy to get boba is always a plus. It is my goal to try any boba place I come across so I'll just add it to the list. The location generally has a lot of parking, but it does depend at times when you're there. If you circle around and wait a few minutes, you will land a spot. The penguin logo was pretty cute and it was nicely decorated inside. It was bright and spacious, I did like that there were a good amount of tables. There were 2 people working at the time, they did not seem overly friendly but they seemed busy taking and making orders. I ordered 3 drinks: 1. Roasted Brown Sugar Boba Milk tea (not real Milk) You have the option to get real milk, (sub Milk for oat, etc) and Roasted. I chose the roasted version, I also added sea salt cream top. This drink was delicious, I could tell they put brown sugar on the top of the foam and flame torched it, it had that delicious nutty flavor or how marshmallows get when toasting them over an open flame. The boba were soft and chewy, done right. I got mine 75% sweet, I could have dropped it down a little lower. The delicious boba sat at the bottom in the sweet delicious syrup. 5/5 2. Passion Fruit Green Tea with Coco Jelly and Grass Jelly- My sis said this was a pretty standard passion fruit green tea. I did ask and this shop makes their own grass jelly. My sis said it was pretty good and they would get it again. 4/5 3. Mango Green Tea with Boba and Coco Jelly- My niece got this drink, she added mango cream on top and sub Sago for boba. My niece did NOT like their drink. It was 50% sweet, (not sweet at all, the Coco Jelly were ok) They noted they would not get this drink again. 2/5 We did see online but I'm not sure I saw it showing in store, that the matcha drinks use ceremonial green tea. DaCafe is latest to open in the Midway district in the lot with plenty of free parking spaces. As my pup and I approached the shop, we noticed some of the menus posted on the sidewalk, on the door as we entered and more on the countertop. We were greeted by the friendly staff, who were helpful and super nice to me and my pup Fendi, whom was even offered a water bowl, but Fendi politely declined. There's only indoor seating and the space inside was clean with simple modern decor with use of real and faux plants, succulents and a few cute figurines for around to make you smile. Would be nice if there was outdoor seating. An area for straws, napkins and such would be better as to keep asking the staff for these is better. I ordered the avocado smoothie with coconut milk. It was a healthy choice and tasted really good but was on the thick side, as it was difficult to sip through the chubby straw. After a couple of sips I felt kind of full, probably the satiating effect of the avocado, which is a good thing. So glad this cafe opened, as this area desperately needs more modern, healthy but yummy food and drink options. The newest and cutest cafe just opened up here in Point Loma. DaBoba shifted gears and started a cafe with a focus on specialty Vietnamese coffee, as well as matcha lattes, frappes. They do still have boba milk teas plus some of their offerings from DaBoba. As a matcha lover, I had to try their Roasted Banana Matcha Latte. A thick slice of banana bruleed with sugar made up the cream top, and the matcha latte itself was a vibrant green color. I loved the taste, but the sweetness overpowered the latte! I would adjust this to half or even none for the sugar level next time if they asked. The cafe is so spacious, and I would come back to order more coffees and matcha! read more

The owner of Dacafé Boba & Eats has opened this new business in the Loma Square shopping plaza after spending time with the chain franchise, Daboba, in Kearny Mesa. The shop is still in a soft opening phase and currently only serves drinks with food offerings not yet available until the full grand opening in another few more weeks. The suite was quite large for a boba tea shop with a dozen tables for seating and a secondary service counter in the back of the room. Because of the owner's past work history, there were common shared drinks as well as some use of materials from Daboba like the plastic seal affixed to the top of the cups. Even the business name was a derivative of the bigger brand. There was a self-service tablet for ordering near the entrance, but I don't believe it was operational at the time of my visit. Two menu screens hung above the service counter. There were multiple choices in each of twelve different categories, including Vietnamese Coffee. The items were sold in medium and large sizes at very reasonable prices. For example, I selected a large Mango Green Tea for one of my beverages. It came with boba pearls and coco jelly as toppings at a total cost of $6.50. My other drink was a large Brown Sugar Fresh Milk Tea with boba pearls included for the same $6.50 price. The tea flavor wasn't as strong as some of the competitors in the Convoy District. For now, I gave a 4.5 star rating for Dacafé Boba & Eats until I return and sample a few of the food choices. read more

A new boba spot in Point Loma! With Vietnamese coffee too! Really excited to hear that this shop opened up as I don't have to venture far to satisfy my specialty Vietnamese coffee cravings. It's located in between T.J. Maxx and Sally Beauty in Loma Square in Point Loma. There is a huge open parking lot for customers. I visited during their soft opening weekend with a BOGO deal. My boyfriend and I came both days to try their drinks, and we will definitely be back! We ordered their medium Roasted Banana Matcha Latte and large Classic Thai Milk Tea with 50% sweetness. The Thai tea came with boba, and I was pleasantly surprised that some drinks include toppings at no extra cost. The roasted banana matcha was quite amazing. LOVED that the banana foam was roasted as it gave a nice aromatic to the foam and matcha. The Thai tea flavor was delicious! Both drinks were quite strong which was amazing. Both drinks were strong and not watered down or overly creamy. During our second visit, we ordered their Vietnamese coffee series. We ordered their Matcha Cream Coffee and Ube Cream Coffee. There was no sweetness adjustment but thankfully, they weren't too sweet even with letting the ice melt. The coffee was strong, just how I liked it, and the cold foams added a nice, enjoyable creaminess. Overall, it's great seeing a new boba spot with great, strong flavors in Point Loma. Ordered the mango matcha & matcha cream tops - both of which the employees said were the most popular (matcha in general is the most ordered). Service was awesome and the cafe was really clean. The matchas fell a bit short for us - they were very sweet and both overpowered with the flavorings and not at all matcha forward. The mango bits and foam tasted good but more like a mango milk tea. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I was very disappointed with my experience. Maybe I just got unlucky. They recently opened, and unfortunately the staff seemed very slow and kept mixing things up. I ordered a matcha and a mango sago. The mango sago was great - 9/10, no complaints there. However, the matcha was honestly terrible. I specifically clarified several times that I wanted it with regular milk, not oat milk, because I have an allergy. Despite that, it was still made with oat milk. On top of that, there was barely any matcha flavor, even though I paid extra for the matcha cream topping. The biggest issue, however, was the straws. They looked as if they had been cut by hand - the edges were uneven, with loose pieces of plastic sticking out. This genuinely seems like a safety concern. Just saw this cafe shop opened in Point Loma and I'm impressed with it. The way they decorate the shop gives me a cozy vibe with beautiful lightning. They opened last weekend with a BOGO offer and I'm so in love with their drink selections. So many good drinks to try. I tried the Coco Mango Sago and Oolong Milk tea, I love them all. I had a chance to talk with the owner and I must say she is really passionate and care a lot for her new business.
