I came in on a busy Friday for lunch. It's in a brand new strip mall located in Westridge. The interior was nicer than a fast food joint, but right on track with most order at the counter eateries. The cashier was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. She answered all my questions. You are given a number that you place in a holder at your table. It did take about 10 minutes for our food to arrive. I ordered three tacos. The grilled shrimp taco was filled with Mexican slaw, queso fresco, avocado cream sauce, and cilantro nestled in a corn tortilla. I really enjoyed this taco, the shrimp were huge and tender. My second taco was the grilled fish taco. I was not impressed with this taco. My first bite into the taco did not have any fish in it. When I did finally get to eat the fish it was grilled nicely. My favorite of the three was the spicy pork....Yumm-o! It is very simple with just cilantro and queso fresco accompanying it. The pork packed some good heat and was very tender. We came here on a weeknight and got our order to-go. We did order until we got there and waited about 10 minutes. The inside is more spacious than it might appear from the outside. Their tacos are reasonably priced for the size and I would say 3 is a good number to order if you are hungry. You may be able to get away with ordering only 2 if you are not that hungry. We got the carnitas, barbacoa, salmon, veggie and brisket tacos, along with a full chicken quesadilla, which was enough to feed 2 young children. All of them were good, but my favorite was probably the carnitas. It was seasoned very well and was dryer than the other meats, which I happen to enjoy better. Just opened up a week or so ago I believe. We ordered 2 chicken fajita tacos, 2 brisket tacos and 2 of the beef street tacos. The chicken tacos had a ton of spices and were too spicy for this white girl. My lips were numb after eating that one. The beef street taco was okay, but I have tasted better. The brisket taco was by the far the best one and will probably be their most popular. It was really good. Not over seasoned and the meat wasn't super chewy like brisket can sometimes be. I liked that one. I had their chips and guacamole. Chips were good and guacamole was something I will def order again. My teenager liked the Spanish rice too. I ordered for pick up and I even asked the lady if pick up is available and she said yes. Their hours online haven't changed and she didn't inform me over the phone that they were closing soon. Everything was ready for pick up. So I got there at 8:33 pm. When I showed up I saw their sign with new hours and I immediately knocked on the door and called their phone because she failed to mention it. It took 12 minutes from the moment I ordered my food to get to their facility. She refused to answer the phone and to open the door. I gave it another chance for pick up but when I called to ask what kind of popsicle flavors they have available she responded, "I don't know, you'll have to come in and see it yourself." Stopped by Daddy tacos for the first time on Sunday! Good food- big toasted burritos - highly recommend the pulled pork. Spicy salsa adds some heat to the meal- use sparingly. Good quantity of chips and queso to start. Guacamole is perfect on the side. Beef fajita rice bowl also very good. Enjoyed the beer or jarritos drink options. For our second visit, I wasn't really in the mood for tacos, so I went with the shrimp quesadillas. While it doesn't look like it in the pic, there's actually eight wedges. The shrimp wasn't really plentiful...at least two of the wedges actually didn't have any shrimp in them...but the ones that did were good. The guac was also very good, and the overall order was extremely filling. One of my daughters had the potato, egg, and cheese burrito. I thought she was getting the breakfast taco, so I suggested that she might want two. We were all surprised when two, large breakfast burritos came out for her. Whoops! Well, at least she's got breakfast waiting for her in the morning. My other daughter had the brisket quesadilla, and she liked it. Some time people there are good, sometimes they are not. You pay tips but they forgot gave you cup for water. You have to ask for it. Today I had a bad experience, ordered 4 tacos but they only gave me 3. Even if we were one of the last customers on taco Tuesday, doesn't mean that our tacos should be served cold...unless they were meant to be that way??? I don't remember it being cold the last time...it really affected how the tacos tasted...I feel bad because I'm the only one out of the group that ate here with my brother the last time and now I'm with a bigger group (of family) and everyone is dissatisfied...we should have went to Pizza Hut if I knew the food was going to turn out like this :( To be fair, I asked the chef if the food (the corn tortillas in particular) was meant to be cold, because the meats were warm, but literally all the corn tortillas were cold...she said No, she was very apologetic and said that because we had a big order (it was 7 of us) that some of the food got cold...I told her that all the corn tortillas were cold and the only warm dish was the bowl of veggies my sis ordered...(honestly I don't believe that excuse she gave) the food should have been hot and it it cooled down to room temp I can understand that, but the tortillas felt like they were just in a refrigerator...there was a contrast between the hot and cold...parts of the tacos So, my final thoughts...don't come here late, on a Tuesday...or you risk being served cold food, but hopefully because I let that chef know the problem, nobody else will have to eat cold food again...(I don't want to completely say don't come here, because I do remember the food tasted good on a different day of the week and when the food was hot...(personally you should try Mr. Tako, hole in the wall that tastes super amazing, they've never let us down, but they're not open as late as Daddy's Tacos) read more

This place has gone downhill this past year. It used to be amazing. Everything was always good and consistent. All of a sudden something changed and not only has the consistency gone down, but the food is disgusting. They do not follow simple directions and add ingredients you didn't order, take away ingredients you did order, and exchange certain ingredients with low level whatever. I just moved back to Dallas after almost ten years in San Diego - the land of high taco consumption, fast food /fast casual tacos, and taquerias. Daddy's is right up there and their beef fajita meat can go toe to toe with any carne asada from San Diego and is honestly better than most SD carne asada. I'd like a little more sear or char on the beef but it's juicy and incredibly well seasoned. It has great spice and doesn't even need salsa.
