Daddy's tacos is a solid choice for Mexican food. Have had a variety of their tacos and all of them were pretty good. Only complaint is no lengua on the menu. The menudo is also pretty good and is served on weekends. I love daddy's tacos because it's simple yet yummy food. There are tons of options for protein, so my boyfriend gets to eat meat while I can have soy chorizo or cactus. Their soy chorizo here is so realistic we've had to have people sample it to make sure it's not real haha. One thing I love more than my favorite food trucks is when my favorite food trucks get an actual store to operate out of! And let me tell ya, Daddy's is very much one of my favorite spots. I've been religiously following these guys all over the area to catch their food truck. And now I don't have to, they've got a cozy little spot tucked away on Mill street! And as an added bonus, they have some new items to serve up! The new spot is awesome, it's divided into two sections with one side containing a long bar/kitchen area and a huge lobby that I imagine will have more tables in the future. The other side has their mine dining area with a super amazing mural painted on the side wall. They also look like they have a mobile grill which is probably for special event kind of things? The service here was awesome, all the staff was helpful and just nice in general. They have pretty much everything you'd expect from a former taco truck gone taco shop. But now that they have a physical location they added breakfast to the wheelhouse. Everything here is super good but my three personal favorites are the birria, Al pastor and the tinga chicken. If I had one thing to suggest one thing for sure it would be the tinga chicken. Get it in one of the handmade quesadillas or tostadas! It's something I haven't really seen anyone else in the area do and it is soooo good! Long story short, if you haven't made it to Daddy's yet run, don't walk! You won't be disappointed. And if you like heat don't be afraid to get their cochinita pibil or ask for their super hot sauce to add to anything else! Both are super flavorful! read more

This place was one of the food trucks our church had hosted the year prior, and my wife mentioned how much she liked the food. Well, I heard they had a brick and mortar location, and I wanted quesso birria, so on we went.  I'm glad I did! Food was fantastic, but more on that later.  First impressions were - location is a bit out of the way from where you'd expect a restaurant to be. Very far? No, not at all. But blink and you'll miss the place, located off Mill St in between Edison and ohm.  An unassuming store front hides a really spacious, clean, well lit place. It's got great decor, a little clothing shop, a small music stage setup, high top tables and regular tables, digital menu boards, a nice long bar, and super friendly people behind the counter. Seriously, I could have chatted these folks up all day. Really cool vibes here. Now the food. The menu is ala carte for the most part, which I'm fine with. It's got all the usual assortments you'd expect. Tacos, burritos (including one the size of an adults arm!) Tortas, quesadillas, and one thing that jumped out at me. Quesso birria burger! Ok, it wasn't a burger exactly. It's shredded beef on a bun with toasted grilled cheese, salsa, guac, and a side of Consommé. I had to try it! But I also wanted birria tacos, so I got some of those too, hoping my wife would help me finish it all, lol.  The "burger" came with fries and a drink for a few extra bucks, which I did. I wanted to try the horchata, which they make fresh.  Did I mention they make everything fresh? Cuz they say they make everything fresh, and you can 100% tell its true in the food. The horchata was delicious, creamy, cold, with the perfect amount of cinnamon and sweetness.  The "burger" (shredded beef sandwich, really) was freaking delicious. The pile of meat was well seasoned and juicy, the pico salsa and guac tasted great with a good amount of salt, and the melted/grilled cheese on it was perfect. The Consommé was tasty, but extra so after I added some of their Xtra hot salsa to it. What can I say, I like my food to bite back. I would definitely order this again with only one change - extra toast in the bun for structure, and that's bein nit-picky. This thing was great.  The shoe string fries were peeeeerfect, and I'm not a fry fan. Crispy, salted, not oily tasting, delicious.  The tacos were amazing. The tortilla isn't soaked or dripping with fat or oil, which I appreciate. It's got toasted cheese, shredded beef, onion, a little cilantro, and a squirt of lime wedge. Oh, and that great Consommé on the side which I loaded with extra hot salsa. I cannot stress enough that the shredded beef they put on the tacos and the "burger" was PERFECT. Not overcooked or dry. Salty, savory, seasoned, delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed these things dude. I really can't find anything to criticize, though I try to be balanced and find both positives and negatives.  I guess if I had to be super super picky, I'd say the Consommé on the side wasn't as spicy or pepper forward as I'm used to, BUT, they've got an assortment of Salsa on the side for those like myself who like the heat - because not everyone does. I completely understand. AND, nothing was gross and fatty. No cartilage or fat chunks or silver skin made it through, which shows me they pay attention to what they're doin in the kitchen. They're being mindful of what people like, and seem to be accommodating their food accordingly. I can't tell you how many crappy or gross meals I've had elsewhere that made me not wanna go back. But not here, the food was clean and flawless. Which leads me to ask the question - We went at 3pm on a Friday, and the place was completely empty. Why?  The food is amazing. The service is amazing. Staff, friendly. Good, clean, fresh, homemade, and tasty. Tons of room, well maintained....what gives?  Y'all need to try this place out, please. Is it dirt cheap? No, because it's freakin quality, and I do NOT mind payin the $50 bucks for what my wife and I got - carne asada fries (in a huge Molcajete bowl!) Birria "burger" with fries and a drink, and three queso birria tacos. Y'all know you spend $15 on a single combo meal at a fast food joint and are left feelin gross and unfulfilled. Go here instead! Definitely going adding this place to my rotation, and you should too!  5 out of 5. read more

I tried placing a to-go order here and the communication was difficult from the start. The person on the phone kept saying they couldn't hear me, so I spoke louder and eventually got my order in (9 quesabirrias). Then was asked 2 times if I could pay half over the phone "because 70 is alot of money & just in case I didn't show up" That felt unnecessary since I had already explained my girlfriend was on the way to pick it up and why would i be ordering if im not planning to go? When I tried correcting the name for the order because he kept saying he cant hear me the staff member got frustrated im trying to correct the name even though I was speaking clearly. Pretty basic tacos here where the meat isn't well-seasoned. They also skimp on the toppings such as the cilantro and onions, and they don't have a toppings bar where you have the option add more. Typically authentic Mexican taco places also provide radishes and pickled vegis, which this place doesn't have. Fish is also not an option here. read more

I'm obsessed! The warm welcome and friendly service each time we enter is awesome. The recommendations to try different menu items is helpful too, and the options never disappoint. The tinga is incredibly juicy and flavorful with the right amount of kick. My latest obsession is the queso birria tacos, served with the consume...perfection! For lunch I had 2 Refried Bean, Pico, onion tacos, with Mexican Potatoes. This was my 1st time eating her. I can honestly say that I was extremely pleasantly surprised. The owners are extremely nice and the prices are very reasonable. They play some nice soothing music. The restaurant is extremely clean. Went in with some work friends on a Friday and it was busy but the service was awesome and our food came quickly. The burritos were huge and the quesadilla looked great. My husband, daughter, and I came by Daddy's Tacos after a night out to the corn maze across the street - such a convenient location! I'm thrilled to have a restaurant so close to one of our favorite spots. When we came in we sat down and waited for a bit, before noticing the big bright sign that states "Order Here" haha oops. My husband and I opted for the Birria Tacos as I had tried them at a recent Yelp Event and couldn't wait to get more! We ordered my daughter a plain cheese quesadilla. I was paying with a gift card and it took a bit for the system to work properly, but the staff were very patient and kind while we waited. Our food came out right away which was so nice since we were starving! We also ordered two Horchatas and were told we got free refills - huge score for me as I know most places don't do that. Once again, the tacos did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor! Maybe a smidge heavy on the onion for my liking, but nothing I can't scrape a little off. My daughter's quesadilla was probably one of the best plain cheese quesadillas I've tasted. They cook the cheese so perfectly! The restaurant itself is very open with seating at the bar and the tables in another room. They only have two low tables and they were both full so we weren't able to use a high chair for my daughter. But, I am glad to see they have them available. They also have excellent music being played at a volume that is comfortable and makes conversation easy. Ordered Carne Asada Fries from here at Food Truck Friday! Luckily there was only a short wait since we came around 5pm. They gave me a buzzer after I ordered that vibrated when my dish was ready. The fries were $15 and came with plenty of food! My husband and I split them and it definitely still felt like we had so much to eat. They came with all the good toppings like meat, sour cream, guac, shredded cheese, etc piled on top of shoestring fries. I wish the fries were a tad bit crispier but overall it was really good! They had 2 big bottles of red and green salsa that you could add to the top, plus little containers so you could take extra with you. I met owner Valintine the owner today as we had a meeting for lunch. She was simply amazing and pleasant to deal with. She recommended the Queso Biria Tacos and she did not disappoint. The meat was super juicy and delicious. We also ordered Orchatas on her recommendations as she said they make them in house. She did not disappoint again. The horchata seemed liked it had a banana flavor to it. The guy who we had a meeting with said he asked for the recipe, but was told it was a secret and they would have to kill him if they told him lol. Either way the horchata was amazing like the Tacos.
