This is starting to be one of my go to's when I am craving onion rings. I just wished they included ranch dressing like the other burger joints. The burger is on the bigger side here, but I feel like the meat to lettuce ratio is off kilter. There are better burger places around, but it's a decent burger. Haven't eaten hear in years. Since the last time I ate here I've developed a severe MSG allergy. Today I ordered a pastrami burger and onion rings. Sure, prices are high and that sucks. But manageable knowing that ahead of time right.... Where I lost it was the cashier trying to sneakily add a $5 tip to my bill!!! No big order - 2 burgers, one burrito. Not difficult, nothing crazy. To put it simple: total was $45 and change, my mom paid $35. Remainder should've been about $10. I go to pay the balance, and Tell me why I look down at the key pad and it says 15.37??? I ask the girl - oh? Did the $35 not go through? She immediately grabs the key pad back, cancels the transaction and says, "10.37 right?" Ignoring that she just got caught. I worked as a server and restaurant manager for 10+ years. You would've been tipped, and tipped well, given the chance to allow me to make that choice myself. You people are sneaky and thieves. The fries came in a greasy brown paper bag. They are actually very good with fresh but they came with extra grease. The pastrami was large but lacked flavor. It was ok and ranch made it wonderful. The prices are really high the pastrami alone was $20 and there was no half size options. The pastrami to bread ratio is off way more bread than pastrami! There are tables outside to sit and eat but it's a small dine place there is no inside area just an order booth and kitchen and tables outdoors. This place is ok at best. Ok, never been here before but my wife wanted fries, so checked the reviews and went to Daglas. And WOW, we are so glad we did. We tried to order the large fries, but the guy at the counter was nice enough to tell us we didn't need to. $5.95 for small fries? I was suspicious...until they handed us a huge overstuffed bag full of the mostly delicious fries ever! Ours were a bit soft (not perfectly crisp as some other reviews say) but damn were they TASTY!! And so much we could barely finish them between the two of us! I'm trying to be mostly vegetarian these days, so the only other thing on the big meaty menu i could order was the veggie burger...and even that was SUPER GOOD. BIG AND TASTY. great bun, great sauce! onions, tomatoes, lettuce all good and tasty. I barely noticed the veggie patty at all. Yes, it cost $14 bucks, but I shared the meal with my wife and between the amazing fries and the one veggie burger we were both full and happy! One strange thing I have to mention...we were eating there at 6:30 on a Saturday evening and we ate on the patio (which was super clean, btw). And there was this really loud, crazy sort of Mexican music playing, that we were sort of enjoying, but it was a lot of female yelling, not really mariachi...but it never let up. And it was really loud. And it seemed like one song going on and on and on forever, never stopping or pausing, two women yelling Spanish lyrics back and forth at each other. Sort of like a crazy Spanish Edith Piaf song! And it was kind of becoming unbearable. Then, as we were leaving we realized it wasn't playing on the Daglas patio at all! Usually Daglas is top notch but today they really sucked. I order 2 orders of taquitos and did not get the guacamole sauce. I had to eat them dry. I ordered a kids cheeseburger meal and got a plain hamburger with no condiments at all. For as much as one pays for their food now one would expect to have everything correctly. We were diving around my boyfriends old neighborhood and he had been wanting to go back to this place for years! He talks about it all the time and how much he used to go growing up! He got his usual... #6 hot pastrami burger and got the onion rings since i would be getting the fries with my double cheeseburger (add bacon and avocado) combo! $35 later we were back in the car eating since there is no where to eat other than tables at Cupid's. The burger was good, it had flavor and was better than any typical fast food chain spot. The fries were probably my favorite though! Ok. First off, not a drive-thru. Unless their definition is drive through this tiny, one way, alley to the west of our building and end up in a postage size "parking lot" with one space, which is designated for disabled parking. If you don't want to do a 12 point turn to try and head back out down the little alley from whence you entered, hope your car fits through a break in the fence and a misaligned cement parking stop located in the Cupid's luxuriously large parking lot next door. Squeeze through, park, hope no one at Cupid's notices, then walk back to the walk up window at Daglas. Came here for burger, gyro and fries after our regular spot was closed and neighbors on Nextdoor App recommended Daglas for burgers and fries. Hubby said 3x3 was as delicious as it was messy - so he happy. Fries were a BIG bag as part of the gyro combo, w/drink. They were hot, greasy through the bag and seasoned - yup, yummy, but greasy, but yummy. Gyro had way too much onion and chopped tomatoes, but that may have been to disguise the small amount of previously frozen (assuming) thin sliced, dry meat contained therein. I've definitely had better gyros at other burger places in The Valley so I wouldn't order this again. Prices seemed kinda high compared with similar places. It has been too long since I treated myself to Daglas. This place is in my top five burger spots of all time. So when I walked up to the window I was already picturing that incredible pastrami burger. There is just something about how the two meats compliment each other. Albeit the fries are seasoned well and crispy. We ate there as to get an authentic experience. The "extra fries" they give don't vouch for the priciness. Basically a combo is a large fountain drink, the double patty burger (subpar meat) and an order of (two) fries. The burger taste is just decent , it just falls apart on you as you eat it. I can't justify paying for anything at $20 that would include a "fountain drink." They asking for high caliber restaurant prices but food isn't of high caliber quality. May return again if I'm in the mood for fries. They do have a pretty hefty menu though. I'm intrigued by the corn dog option. Hard to find an ol skool tasty corn dog around anymore. read more

Tried Daglas for the first time yesterday. I got their cheeseburger with everything except onions plus small chili cheese fries, no onions. My husband got a chili burger, a double cheeseburger & small fries. I was curious about their chili after reading a number of reviews about it being sweet. It was a little sweet but not annoyingly so. It had a unique flavor that I can't put my finger on. Maybe they put ketchup in it? It wasn't my thing but lots of people love it so it's just a personal preference thing. The chili cheese fries had lots of cheese & though it wasn't very melty, I appreciated the abundance. The fries themselves were really yummy! I like the seasoning they put on them. The cheeseburger was good though the relish made it a little too sweet for me. The bun to meat ratio was spot on, the iceberg lettuce was shredded, just the way I like & the patty had a good charbroiled flavor. It is a little expensive for a burger joint but the portions are good size, especially my husband's small order of fries. They took up like, half the tray. I've had this place bookmarked for a while now, so when the chance to go for lunch appeared I practically ran over here! My friend and I were in luck when we got there because there wasn't a line! I went with the #3 which was a hamburger (I added cheese for .75), fries and a drink. I loved that the burger tasted like a homemade burger. The patty was cooked medium and I love places that use shredded lettuce!! The fries were the winner for us though and trust me when I say that one order will satisfy 3-4 people!!! This used to be one of my go-to spots for takeout. But the other reviewers aren't kidding when they talk about the insanely high prices. I know the cost of everything has risen and I expect higher prices anywhere I go. But I'm not paying $20 for a burger, fries, and a soda at a take out burger joint in the valley. There are tons of hole-in-the-wall, SFV style burger shacks/stands, and tons of great burgers. This simply isn't worth the exorbitant prices they are charging now. Their food is good, not amazing.
