I ordered a Gemini sandwich, along with a spinach, orange & cucumber juice. Sandwich bread was perfect, freshly baked soft but crispy in all the right places. My daughter has dance class on Saturday mornings; we come from the East Bay so sometimes she does so without breakfast. This 24th St sandwich shop came to the rescue. They serve fully loaded sandwiches and breakfast burritos that hit the spot after a morning workout. They have a variety of drinks and chips as well as several flavors of ice cream from local darling Mitchell's. The decor is modern with fun music playing as you wait on your order. Servers were cheerful and thanked us for waiting. Prices are SF steep but the food was delcious. We will return. read more

Stopped by to grab a sandwich for lunch, once I walked in I was greeted by 2 kind gentleman, who were very helpful. Very classic deli vibe which is nice they also slice their own meat which is a plus. They have a great handful of sandwich combos. My favorites are the following and always on dutch crutch. * Gemini Club - Roasted Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar, Pesto Mayo, Avocado, Lettuce & Tomato. * Chicken Mediterranean - Grilled Chicken Breast, Hummus, Feta Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickles, Cucumber, Lemon Vinaigrette. * There's Something About Rosemary - Rosemary Garlic Turkey, Pesto Mayo, Roasted Garlic, Lettuce, Tomato, Provolone. That last one just makes my mouth water thinking about it. Mmm, that Rosemary Garlic Turkey is so good. Ok... before I review any spot, I visit a few times because consistency is very important to me. Today I had The Cuban sandwich and it spoke all kinds of español to me. Full disclosure, I added a little habanero salsa at home and it took it to a whole new level. The sandwiches here have been consistently delicious and well made. They don't fall apart and make a mess. The people here are always friendly and welcoming. The place is clean and tidy. Oh! And their sides are delicious. Went here on the 4th of July because Limoncello was closed. Delicious sandwich I ordered the "It's just beef" on a sourdough roll. Medium rare sliced roast beef, chewy sourdough, horseradish mayo, toasted cheese and mild dill pickles. Perfect sandwich. Friendly staff. I'll be going back. read more

Giving this a 5 star for a sandwich. I've had some great sandwiches and not so good ones but this deserves every bit of it. I fell in love with sandwiches since a kid. One of my fav sandwich spots is located in Napa and trust me I always make that cause it's worth it but I found this gem. I got the Cajun turkey on a Dutch with pepper jack with the works. Love the variety of meats and rolls along with the chips to go along with it. When I tell u that first bite was hitting, on my sperm donors baby mama, THAT SHIT WAS HITTIN LIKE TYSON IN THE FIRST ROUND. I've been back twice already and it's THAT GOOD. The service is great. Each sandwich is prepared at hand made to order how it's intended to. Sometime they're busy sometimes they're not. And it has that old school deli smell to it read more

Great place and very fresh salads made here, potato salad, ravioli, marinara sauce, Mediterranean pasta salad. But come here for the sandwiches. They are amazing. This place is for the culture, and I. Fux. Wit it! My first time coming was with a coworker who wanted to introduce me to a local favorite. I like to know what I'm getting into before I go so checked out the website. Trust and believe the pictures do justice to what you get when you come in. The sandwich is neat and well prepared. Quantity and quality worth the price. You can spend $12-$14 for some garbage from McDonald's, Jack in the Box or Taco Bell and not be half as satisfied as you would be if you came here. I did a heat check about a week later with the misses and the service we received held up to my initial impression. Terrific sandwich, roasted turkey, stuffing, mayo and cranberry sauce with pepper jack cheese on a hollowed dutch crunch roll. Was passing by and couldn't resist getting one to go. I associate "Dagwood" with those grilled cheese and baloney sandwiches they served in junior high school, surprisingly good. This is not that. It's a full service deli. When I first came to the U.S. from the U.K.m I was shocked by how hugely high they piled meat onto the sandwiches, I was used to the wager thin tea sandwiches that the Brits are known for. I remember thinking how the hell was I gonna fit my mouth around an impossibly high meat laden sandwich? Since then, every U.S. sandwich is like: meat heavy. This iOS the first time, I found myself wishing they had put MORE turkey! It was super tasty but a little sparse on the turkey, and they put regular jack instead of the pepper I had asked for. Other than that, it's a terrific little place, with tons and tons of options for specialty sandwiches. You can get one of their premade concoctions--or do it yourself. Neat and clean, spartan place with seats inside. Prices are good, and customer service quick, friendly. Btw., they also have Mitchells ice-cream, in three sizes of cups or three types of cones, and they are very generous portions, to the point where my husband got one scoop on a cone, and it overflowed to where we had to transfer half of it into another cup lol :-) which my husband got their toffee flavor and loved it! read more

Though this place isn't as popular as some of the other sandwich places in the area-- it's really good! Dutch crunch bread sandwiches toasted are one of the best in sf! It's always fresh, they're generous with the meats, the pepperoncinis are delicious, and the price is very reasonable. Never had a bad sandwich here. Service was fine. I came in right before they closed, didn't know this but realized after they started putting stuff away. I felt bad but the staff were very nice and they didn't react negatively to me ordering at the last minute so I appreciate them for that. I ordered the Cuban in a dutch crunch bread, sorry about the bad picture. It tasted really good, I would definitely want to try it again. I used to hate sandwiches until I tried Dagwoods & Scoops. This place has such delicious sandwiches to go. I usually order online and then pick it up to eat at a nearby park once a week. Our favs are the Cordon Bleu and the Early Bird though all of them are great. I highly recommend the dutch crunch bread toasted for your choice of bread though. The owner is super nice and it's great to spend money locally and not on a big chain. read more

Mitchell's ice cream is the bomb. This is a good place to grab some if you're closer to the Mission than the actual Mitchell's ice cream shop in Outer Mission. The selection is slightly more limited than at the latter, but it's still more than enough to choose from. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dagwood & Scoops. If I had to say anything bad about this place it would be that they ruined hot pastrami sandwiches for me...I can't get them from any other place now that I've had it at Dagwood & Scoops. The Just for J is for all pastrami lovers. They also have amazing ice cream, my favorite Yerba Mate flavors and a huge selection of chips and other snacks. Not sure if it is under new management, but this place is an absolute shit show right now. The new hire couldn't figure out where the ice cream cones were, what a cake cone was, or how to scoop it without the bosses help. The sandwich i got was a 4/10 and the meats in the deli area looked like they hadn't been replaced in awhile. Also, they have Gluten Free bread on the menu but it is not usable for a sandwich. They showed it to me wrapped in plastic wrap from the fridge. 2 slices that were basically glued together.....and too small to use. Bottom line, i would go for a scoop of ice cream but not a sandwich. Hopefully they can pull it together. read more

I picked up a sando here on 4/14/21. I ordered a tuna, sprouts and tomato on toasted rye and let me tell you...it was AMAZING! Delicious and fresh! You can tell the owner made it with love. Ok, let me write my love letter to Dagwood. This place speaks to me. I can get my seriously amazing sandwich over here, take a peek at the quality ice cream flavors over there, get my Haribo candy and bag of "Hippie Dust" popcorn to bring back to my coworkers at the hospital over there, and grab my coke or healthier spindrift option over there. What more could I ask for? Friendly service? They have that too! And it's only 3 blocks from SFGH. I'm now a regular. The Brie was well balanced with the figs. The website said it came with a "fig mostarda" and my partner never had that before! (2) Peach Melba ($10) - also very unique and flavorful. It was better this time and a pretty pastry but not super flavorful. We were able to get this pastry warmed up (they shared that they don't warm the ones with cream). Total: $40.19 There was indoor seating within parachute bakery, but you can very well grab your pastries and go sit by the water. We parked further away as we always do and rode the street car (F) in, so we didn't have to deal with the bustling streets of the pier. Love the fact that they bring in seasonal ingredients. Their ice cream was ok, another item I picked up for on the go, but just a small scoop since it was kinda hot that time. I don't eat bread. When I told the guy behind the counter that I didn't eat bread, he jumped right into action, and made me the most delicious lettuce wrap chicken pesto, sandwich, I've ever had.
