We had been passing by this restaurant for years and after so many disappointments from many of the other local Chinese restaurants in this area several weeks ago we stopped in Dah Lee for some take out. Great food. Nice , kind of retro feeling to the restaurant if you choose to eat in. My only complaint is that as a vegetarian I eat a lot of tofu, and their tofu made me understand why non vegetarians turn their nose up at it. It was soft and mushy with no flavor...not cooked enough the two times I tried it. Other than the tofu the food is fantastic. I took one star off for the slimy tofu. read more

Food is always greasy and dirty. Have given them a few chances because they are walking distance. My go to order is white meat chicken or else it's rubbery and gross. Unfortunately, event the white meat is unsafe now and I told the cashier, it smells like someone urinated on my food. Returned it for a refund and they charged me $1 for the egg roll. I've lived in Ronkonkoma for 14 years and always drive past this place. Finally went there for lunch today and it was a great. A throwback to what Chinese restaurants were when I grew up in the seventies. Not many Chinese restaurants left that aren't buffets or primarily take out. This place has real waitress service. The food was great for $7.25 for lunch you get Won Ton soup which was excellent, an egg roll, main dish and rice and ice cream served in the silver bowls like I remember in my youth. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an old school Chinese experience. read more

We just LOVE Dah Lee. We have been eating there for about 7 years now. Cute little place for a cozy sit down meal or quick take-out. We find that they never make mistakes on orders. Everything is always in the bag on take-out. I would give them 5 stars, but some of the dishes can be a bit bland, although most I've tried are pretty good. Their eggrolls are okay, but could stand to be crispier. Soups are pretty good. The plus is that the dishes are never oily. I like that a lot. Average in price. Fast service. Always friendly. They serve alcohol, too. Overall, a lovely little place. read more

Unfortunately the second bad experience at Dah Lee; my husband and I gave them a second shot, but will not come back. yes it is close to home, but we rather drive a bit further and enjoy our meal and time at a restaurant. There is barely anybody in the place, the air was muggy and warm, so was the water served to us.We had to specifically ask for ice to which request the waiter takes my husband glass and returns with a few ice cubes in it, did not care about the second glass on the table. The soup was cold and the main course was below any other Chinese food place we ordered from or ate at. Sorry Dah Lee, but not that far from you there is Jade Garden and you can learn a lot from them. read more

Above average take-out. Place has been there forever - It's a stand alone brick building, which for me makes it feel better than your standard strip-mall Chinese joint. Inside you'll find a dining room and full bar which is also a nice touch (though I have never used either and it's usually empty.) Some "Dah-Licious" choices are the Chef's Duck Special and the Happy Family. Great combo plates and a top notch Hot & Sour soup. read more

Shhhhhhhh a secret gem hiding amongst homes. It sits quietly on the corner and if you are not a local you would pass it by but don't. Great food and great service. The prices are cheap for the amount of food you get. A must try!!! read more

I just moved to the neighborhood and saw Dah Lee around the corner from where we live. We ordered delivery. They came in 17 minutes. Which was great. I had the sweet and sour chicken and my boyfriend has the general tso's chicken which he usually gets at any chinese place. The meal was great, not oily or too anything. I recommend it.
