One of the things I love about various baseball fields is the variety. It's the only sport where the playing field varies in the outfield depending upon where you are. The Crawford boxes are a short porch in left field where you are almost guaranteed a chance to catch a home run. Tal's Hill is the hill in center field where the US flag pole is in the field of play. Unfortunately, this hill will be removed in time for the 2016 Astros season. The retractable roof is perfect for the hot, humid summers in Houston. Plus, it helps avoid the rail delays that can pop-up almost instantaneously on hot summer afternoons. On Friday nights during the Astros season, when the game is over, the roof rolls back and they shoot off fireworks over the outfield wall. I can't really say that MMP is "better or worse" than other fields. It's simply different than other fields which makes it unique. Just make sure you're rooting for the Astros!! Take me out to the ball game! I got to visit another downtown Stadium and this one was nice. The trend seems to be place a ballpark in downtown and the city will revitalize itself. We did our pregame at Home Plate Grille and tossed back quite a few Crawford Bock's. Astros opened up against the Yankees and we had great club seats in section 214; and won. If you make it to Houston, this is a must do, you won't regret it. Tickets are a bit pricier than most other stadiums but they have the claim of being World Champions! read more

Great downtown ballpark.... major upgrade from the Astrodome. Likes: * Cheap parking options * Great views from all seats * Unique train with oranges that toots in left field when the home team does something good (like homeruns or wins) * Retractable roof adds some shielding from the Texas humidity when needed and allows for real grass... * The homerun gas pump is a unique/cool thing to track homeruns (see my photo). Too bad the Astros aren't doing so hot these days, because I actually think Minute Maid Park isn't half bad. Granted, I've been fortunate enough to only experience Minute Mark Park from really stellar seats. The stadium formerly known as Enron Field is quite open and spacious and the temperature has always seemed perfectly controlled for my comfort. The ease by which I'm able to navigate between the rows of seats and up to the adequately equipped restrooms is a always a plus for fidgety ole me. Sure there snacks and drinks are overpriced, but you should always expect that at professional sporting venues. Hey, at least there's a fair amount of vendors offering wine, I'm holding on strong to my beer moratorium for now. read more

Worst stadium ever. Came here for a college baseball tournament. Bought a general admission ticket but could not get a seat. Completely oversold and the stadium staff was unhelpful. Left without seeing the game. I would give the Astros and Minute Maid a negative rating if I could. read more

This building is stunning and it never disappoints. Not only are the Astros a Bad Ass team, the food, the drinks, the ice cream, the team shops, the AIR CONDITIONING and the friendly vendors make going to an Astros game an absolute pleasure. Parking is done with ease with most parking 40 to 50 feet from an entrance. It was torrentially raining last week and thank goodness we have a roof! Have you ever had the chance to sit in the BATTERS EYE BOX? Wow...when you have some extra money, sit there. $300 each but the view is unbelievable. Look it up. $300 gets you food, non-alcoholic drinks and table service. Pretty darn coo!!! read more

Ballpark to one of the finest franchises in baseball (who happen to have the best 2019 record as well) and 2017 World Series champions. Amazing park with a loud and rowdy crowd to match the great Texas eats and drinks around the stadium. Great deals and very affordable making sure everyone attends a few games every season (good seats are as expensive as you'd expect for one of the best teams in the MLB). They've got a $1 Dog every Tuesday home game sponsored by Nolan Ryan beef no less. And ever Friday night home game is fireworks with themes like Star Wars and Game of Thrones - seriously - EVERY FRIDAY HOME GAME! Can't say enough good things about this stadium, it's town, and it's fans. One of the better baseball experiences out there for the modern day. read more

I don't know if I should start my review like this but I really don't like any type of sportsball. Touchpasses and goals aren't on my radar. But I go where my friends take me. That is how I ended up here at Enron fiel..... I mean minute made park. This place has a really fun atmosphere and the fans genuinely seem happy. The security clearance isn't so bad. You go through the line emptying your pockets for a few seconds and get on your way. Apparently on certain days they give you rings so that was a nice gesture and a way to show their fans appreciation. The alcoholic beverages are artociously over priced. The liquor like vodka and Bourbons are 12.50 a single and the glass is really small. If you want to feel a buzz while not going entirely broke I suggest getting on of those big beer cans. They are around the same price but last way longer than a urine size sample of vodka. The food everywhere are over priced to but luckily they are filling so you don't feel too robbed. Get the nachos but not the supreme one. I got the supreme nachos and got a cup of sour cream blobbed on top. Just get it with cheese and chips and spice it up with the pickled jalapenos at the condiment stands. Love long lines at the restrooms? Go to the restroom after an inning. Yeah, figure out when people are less likely to get up and go from there. The seats are nice on the ground floor and apparently you can just drop your garbage right there on the ground or at least that's what the people around me were doing. The atmosphere is great and loved being here. Other than the prices this place was fun. There are several restaurants and stores around to occupy your time with if you aren't into watching sports for a few hours. read more

Home of the Houston Astros. Minute Maid Park is well kept and clean. Bathrooms are generally pretty clean as well, there is an attendant that is up-keeping during games. There's a good variety of food and drink choices, albeit marked up to park prices. Must haves are a ballpark hot dog, Karbach Crawford Bock, and some dip'n'dots. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare; depending on the event or importance of the game; it could vary from 10$ to 50$ for blacktop uncovered parking. There are some garages downtown that are cheaper if you are willing to walk. Friday night games come with an impressive fireworks show afterwards which I definitely recommend staying for. My favorite feature about the park is that it's a "convertible." On days where the Houston weather is really icky, they will have the roof closed to keep everyone out of the elements. read more

Ballpark #15 on my quest to visit them. MM was solid but not top tier. Being there for their 2nd home game after capturing their 1st WS the place was definitely electric. Definitely impressed when the lower bowl stands for a bases loaded moment in the first couple of innings. They definitely love their 'Stros. On to the review. We had lower level seats, just off of 3rd base. I appreciated the regular visits from the beer vendor but noticeably absent were vendors for other refreshments. Also, unlike other teams they didn't have people selling 50/50 tickets throughout the game. Prices for domestic beers were reasonable at $9.50 a pop. On the main concourse you could find everything you'd expect including hot dogs, nachos, and peanuts. I opted for the Kicken Chicken Nachos for $12.50. A very healthy portion that I didn't even finish of chips, cheese, beans, pulled chicken, and sour cream. The views of the park from the seats were solid. The train above the left field seats is a nice touch. The video board in right field is huge and high quality. What I didn't care for was the over abundance of advertisements. They're everywhere! That's how you pay for a ballpark these days I guess. I just long for the old days. Enjoy your trip to MM Park, don't miss the 7th inning stretch where you'll quickly remember that you're in Texas! read more

Respiratory Distress: This year I have experienced respiratory issues, especially 300 level and higher. Minute Maid Park has severe air quality issues. I recognize that it has been hot outside for a number of days, but the temperature inside is very uncomfortable as well, adding to respiratory distress. I was forced to move down to the 100 level. This helped, but only some. I rarely have a problem with hot temperatures, as I exercise in it almost everyday, so temperature alone is not the issue. Only under severe air quality issues do I react. read more

I really enjoyed seeing a game at Minute Maid Park. Considering that the Astros were a hot team and that they would go on to win the World Series two months later, I'm quite surprised how empty the park was and how cheap the tickets we bought on the secondary market cost. We ate at Ninfa's beforehand (highly recommended), so I only bought some peanuts and a beer but it looked like the food options were solid. Beer prices were expensive but on-part with other MLB parks. Since it was an August game the roof was closed and I don't think anyone would have been happy if it wasn't. I'd love to try a game here sometime with the roof open, but that seems like a rare occurrence. Overall a fun and unique park and we felt perfectly welcome as opposing fans. read more

Minute Maid Park has lots of food offerings from: BBQ, pizza, to tacos, they have you covered. We were here on a Friday night and the theme was Star Wars. My boyfriend loves Star Wars so we took several photos with people in costume. We had greats seats, the people around us were friendly. The restrooms were incredibly clean for a ballpark. The queues move quickly and efficiently. The Friday night fireworks show was set to Star Wars music, it was well choreographed. It was nice to enjoy the game with the roof closed in the a/c then the fireworks with the roof open. The retractable roof definitely makes for a comfortable baseball experience in the Texas heat! Parking around the park seemed plentiful. There is also a specific area for those using Lyft and Über. We stayed at the Hilton Americas. It's a less than 10 minute walk to Minute Maid. We enjoyed our first night in Houston at Minute Maid with an Astros victory! read more

2017 Update: Again, read below for additional detail, this is more "what's new" for 2017. For one thing, the hill in centerfield is gone. I really liked the hill and was disappointed the team decided to replace it with retail space. But such is life. Tal's Hill will always live on in our memory. Again this year, Minute Maid Park has increased it's food and beverage options. I am particularly pleased with many more craft beer options on the upper concourse. This has made it much easier to get a beer, and get a beer quickly without waiting in line at the one or two places that had it before. Downside? Beer is now $10.75 for a 20 - 22 oz pour. I sometimes wonder how high it can go? People will stop buying them at $15 or $20, right??? A food disappointment is the lack of the Cuban sandwich on the upper concourse. It's on the menu, but they never have the bread? I've tried at least five times to get it. Finally gave up. On the good side, Jackson Street BBQ is now present during the week most of the time (bigger weekday crowds probably help). And they added ribs. It's the best food in the stadium, especially if you're from out of town, make a point to get it (behind the left field foul pole near the escalator). MMP has also upped it's security this year. Nothing too intrusive, just as they have implemented metal detectors, they seem much more thorough in looking through bags and enforcing policy on bringing in food (seriously, bring the 1 gallon ziploc or they may not let you in, even if it's clearly smaller). The staff around the stadium remain tops in the league, absolutely no complaints. MMP also remains very family friendly, RARELY do you get anyone who is inappropriate with language or behavior. Does it happen? Sure. But very rarely. I have not been to the new centerfield area yet where the hill used to be, but it seems popular. read more

I've been here for numerous Astros games and had a decent time on every occasion. -Pretty good views from all seats and announcers keep you fairly entertained (for the non-baseball fans) with kiss cams, flex cams and dance cams in between innings. -Some food is overpriced, but some isn't. Chick-fil-A sandwiches for $5.50, yikes! But bbq stuffed baked potato from Texas Smoke, which is owned by Bryan Caswell and Ronnie Killen, for $9.75, not a bad price!! -Ticket prices are reasonable for coming alone, with friends or family. -Plenty of stairwells, ramps, escalators and elevators to move people between the levels. -Most of the action (crowds) occurs on the lower concourse (100 level). -The no re-entry policy sucks! If there are food trucks outside for example, you better visit them before entering the park. They won't let you come inside, go back out and then come inside a 2nd time! -It is fairly common for people to buy 400 level tickets, then come down to 100 level and find empty seats to sit in after the 3rd inning or so. -Parking is always a breeze for me, I manage to find free street parking every time I visit here within a block or two. read more

Minute Maid Park is the best field in the World. I grew up near Fenway Park and spent many a summer day watching games while getting a class A sunburn in the Bleachers. So my first game at Minute Maid (then Enron Field) and new to Texas heat ... I was scared I would die. Low, the place is air conditioned, ha ha. Never in my life had I watched live baseball in air conditioning. The location near the downtown and convention district is ideal for business entertaining and family fun. Over the past years I have had a chance to sit everywhere in this park. My favorite is right field dugout seats but you can sit anywhere in this park and enjoy the game. People who attend Astros games are all great. As a kid going to Fenway, Shea and Yankee Stadium I used to witness 1 or 4 fights a game. That doesn't seem to happen in Houston. Maybe because so many people come from so many places that we are more welcoming to visitors? For families the stadium offers a cool 'kids zone' with climbing gym and attractions. This comes in handy by the 4th inning of you have under 12's. Games about to start ... I will add more later. Go Stros! read more

I like how you can walk all the way around the stadium and it isn't divided to your section only. Some stadiums only let you wander around in your section so it makes it impossible to see your friends if you're not in the same section. The scrolling marquee is really small/skinny and with the glass wall in the back field, it makes the place feel really small. I'd probably have a different opinion if the roof was opened up but Astros beat the A's in a crazy fashion with the A's catcher making an error trying to tag Bregman batting and dropping the ball. Ok look, yes parking is ridiculous, the seats are super small and tight and yes everything inside is expensive but it makes it all worth it! I appreciate the amount of staff that the stadium has making it easier for visitors. The field was also created with families on mind, a great place to bring the little ones to watch a live game. Safe wise? Very. I feel comfortable bringing my kids here without a worry in the world with all the security and law enforcement in the building and out. read more

I felt safe there too. Parking was one block away at a private lot but it worked for me as it was close and easy to get to the car. The footlong hotdog was great and filling. I had a nachos plate and a soda. I was so full. We sat in section 118 and it was close to the home plate. Man, those foul balls are real. I was ducking and having fun. I didn't quite know what to expect from an indoor stadium. I parked across the street for $15 and walked in. That was easy! Scanned my ticket and was in the park. Super easy. It was obviously hot and humid outside but inside it was comfortable, while still slightly humid, it was next to nothing. It had the feel of being comdy inside which was nice. I was on the 300 level and made my way up easily enough. Lots of food and drinks, but keep your eye out for the stalls you're interested in as the selection change quite a bit from one stall to the cluster a few hundred feet away. This can result in quite a bit of back tracking if you have your eye on that funnel cake stand and it's not right nearby you. I had a good seat, and liked my view. After getting up to get food and coming back a few people (one in a wheelchair) had been sat in my seat, and the few others around it. The employee working told me he wanted to put these folks where I was and asked me to move down to the end of the balcony seats. Not that big of a deal, but the group could have also sat where I was moved to... plus now I was sitting potentially in someone else' seat, and he told me if someone came up to claim it to find him or some other employee to relocate me. The only issue with this is rather then sitting and enjoying the game I am now worried about 'stealing' someone else's seat and causing an issue. I would have preferred to stay in my seat and know that I was right where I belonged. It did rain for 30 minutes or so while we where here, and I guess the roof leaks in spots, because a few sections got wet and had to get up and move. If I had sat in one of those sections I'd have been unhappy. Not sure if that's a normal issue or just a weird fluke but it happened to several areas in the 200 and 300 sections Aside from that, I had a great time watching the Angels play (and beat) the Astros! I liked the food, good selection, decent prices (what you expect at a ballpark anyways) and would come here for another game for sure. read more

First time I've ever reviewed a baseball stadium, but here goes. Parking wasn't bad at all considering I parked a block or so away. I actually like paying at the machine because it cuts down on traffic having to pay a person before parking. The stadium itself was super cool. It was built right around the time Miller Park was built so there are a lot of similarities in my opinion. I ate at Torchy's Tacos based on reviews and I was not disappointed. The tacos were absolutely delicious, especially the fried avocado taco. Tacos were a bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected at ballparks. Thank goodness the Brewers won! read more

Y'know, I love my Astros but Enron Field...I mean, Minute Maid Park, is just OK. Bring a product of the Astrodome generation, it's hard to compete with the 8th Wonder of the world. Minute Maid Park just doesn't quite roll off the tongue the same way. And the Crawford boxes and home run alley are fine but Tal's hill, a distinguishing feature, is now gone at the renovation. I guess it's cool you can win or but the chance to be in center field though. And the second most important thing about the ballpark? The food!! Now there's a Torchy's (an AUSTIN institution) and a Shake Shack (an NY born chain) which seem to be the big draws buuut...they don't have much to do with my great hometown!?! There's a tiny window of "Houston street eats" that does involve a cone of chicken and mashed potatoes, so seek that out with a cup of Blue Bell in an Orbit bowl. Lots of Bud and InBev owned beers around. It's hard to find a St. Arnold's but you can definitely land a 16 oz Lawnmower in the little outfield market. Finally, our team shop needs work. It's small. More than half the merch is blah. Also, it doesn't feel very inclusive for women and children's items. Mostly a lot of grown men sizes and stuff. Before you tell me that's their main demographic, I've been to at least 8 other ballparks and base this complaint on other team shops I've seen. On impulse decided to drive up for an Astros game for the 4th of July. Playing Kansas city royals. Been here before but its been awhile. The game started out pretty dismal with the Stros struggling. The pulled it out and won. The place is huge, the atmosphere is amazing and draws in the Stros fans. Food is expensive tho. We had good seats. Pretty pricey , after fees and taxes whew!
