    Chicken Baked

This chicken has no seasoning and whomever cleaned it left all the fat under the skin. No butter on baked chicken (who does that). I guess y'all do at this establishment The greens mixed with the cornbread was good. The mashed potatoes were bland. I tried this place before and didn't like it when I first got to Texas. Still is a nope for me. 60$ later.

This is a SPOT!!! Upon landing I was taken here to get some dinner. I ordered the catfish dinner, 4 beautifully fried and sized filets with a seasoned fries. I also ordered the peach cobbler and to drink an long Island daiquiri that did the job. The food is on point and you get the bang for your buck.

I generally order via Door Dash, but I don't get the fees and the other charges waived even with the Dash Pass when I order from here. It's a $30 order !!! I decided to stop by today and pick up dinner. It cost $15 to get it myself, versus $30 via Door Dash. I got the Pig Feet Plate, which comes with two sides and a roll or cornbread - EVERYTHING was Slap Yo Momma Good - The Pig's Feet, the Greens, and the Cabbage !!! It's like mana from heaven !!!

2nd experience- pork chops fried perfect, tender and good seasoning, mustard greens were very good, nice texture and meat bits with it and mustard great flavor. The cabbage was different, like it had a ketchup style setup...wasn't my type and then the red kool-aid, wasn't sweet enough lol! Overall it was about a 8.8! Now I will go back for something else

I love this place! Came back for the second time the other day and got the friend cat fish plate with Mac and cheese and cabbage. Ordered at the register and it was out in about 15 min during the lunch rush. There is very limited indoor seating only about 6 high top seats. The service was awesome the last taking our order was super nice. The food is phenomenal. Cat fish was crispy on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside. It came with what seemed like a homemade tartar sauce and they had hot sauce to take on the side. The cabbage had so much flavor! The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious! I would love to come back after rework hours for a daiquiri one of these days as there are soo many options

Ordered on Uber eats so cannot say much on service. The beef tips were really amazing when I order beef tips. This is exactly the flavor that I'm going for so that was a plus the greens were good. They were a little bit on the sweet side which I wasn't used to, but it had a great flavor overall, the mac & cheese wasn't really anything special but I would definitely go back and eat there again. I'm in person and try some of their other options.

Tried a nice chill daiquiri spot. I love the vibes and had the RnB music playing. They have almost everything to soul food, fried chicken, fried fish, seafood boils platters, slices of different variety of cakes, and of course daiquiris. They even have frozen package of food for sell. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I'm going to make this review shirt and sweet. If you want good flavorful soul food, this is the place to get it. The menu is expansive but I love having different options. The staff is friendly and they always seem busy which is good for business. There aren't many seats for you to eat at do it's best to be prepared to take your food to-go.

Daiquiri Depot, you did it again!!! Just a little background...I'm originally from Louisiana so we take our seafood VERY personal and our standards are extremely high. It was a Friday evening, I was hungry and everything was frozen but I wanted some fish. I've tried like 5 places and the fish has been mediocre but I've had good experiences with Daiquiri Depot so I took a chance. Hunni, when I tell you I licked my fingers afterwards!!! Best fried catfish filets I've had since moving to Texas two years ago. Added a side of yams and dirty rice, whew!! My taste buds were doing cartwheels & I'm thoroughly impressed. Check out the pics. Although I paid a $5.99 delivery fee to get it (sheer laziness), pricing was modest. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. Y'all can have my money whenever LOL

I ordered the pork chop plate, and the server kindly let me try both a fried pork chop and a smothered one since I couldn't make up my mind. I also had fried cabbage and yams. The cabbage had a little unexpected heat to it, but that's actually the same way my family cooks theirs, so I ended up really enjoying it. One thing that stood out to me was the staff. I'm not sure if the restaurant is always staffed this way, but I was genuinely impressed that all the front-line workers were men -- and every single one of them was courteous, respectful, patient, and mindful of each customer. While I enjoyed my meal, I watched them treat each person who walked in with the same positive energy and attentiveness. If you're in the area, go support this restaurant. In today's world it's comforting to know there are businesses verifying identity! Kudos!! Once seated at home I opened my container to hot fried catfish, tomatoes and okra, Mac n cheese and hot water cornbread. My first bite of everything was very good and seasoned to perfection. I got so full so quick that I wasn't able to finish but it made for perfect leftovers later that day. On to the desserts! My mom got a slice of pecan pie and I enjoyed the strawberry cake. Both were tasty and prepared perfectly! I will stop in again for fried pork chops when it's time for an off plan meal.

Just to the right of the sign were two Level 2 chargers. We each ordered two 2 meat plates, which included two sides. When we got home and opened the to-go boxes, we realized we had WAY over-ordered. We had enough for two meals for each of us! We had chicken and pork ribs, mac & cheese and flat green beans. It was very tasty with a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. I spoke with the owner and thanked him for supporting EVs, to which he replied, "How could I not? It's what's coming. How could I not get on board?" What happened today was unacceptable from the moment we walked in. The place was visibly dirty and completely unappetizing. The back area was mostly hidden behind what looked like a shower curtain, which did nothing to inspire confidence. There appeared to be only one man working, and he came out only a few times during the entire 45 minutes we waited. Even more concerning, there was a child who looked to be about eight or nine years old wearing latex gloves and repeatedly coming out to the front, apparently helping with restaurant tasks that no child should be doing. Despite having prepaid through Too Good To Go, no one acknowledged us for nearly 10 minutes. We stood in a hot dining room with almost no air conditioning while the child wandered in and out and the adult remained behind the curtain. More people arrived behind us, also with prepaid orders, until there were about 10 people waiting. We watched three other customers receive their food before us. One was a DoorDash driver, which made sense, and one woman had arrived before us. However, another woman with a very small order was served ahead of us even though she arrived after we did. When the man finally came out, we showed him our Too Good To Go order. He swiped the app, marking our order as picked up, then disappeared behind the curtain again and never returned with our food. After waiting 45 minutes in a sweltering dining room on a nearly 100-degree Texas day, we gave up. We left without the food we had already paid for. At that point, losing the cost of the meal was preferable to staying in that environment any longer. This was one of the worst pickup experiences I have ever had. Between the unsanitary conditions, the lack of staff, the presence of a child apparently performing restaurant tasks, the complete absence of customer service, and the fact that we never even received the order we had already paid for, I can say with complete confidence: We will never return.

It was a great size and again fried to perfection. The hush puppies were really tasty. The fried corn fritter was delicious. The pickled tartar sauce was unique and I loved it. OMG the cabbage was so DAMN GOOD! This stole the show. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned with love. It touched my soul and I wanted to lick my container. The Mac and Cheese was a NO for me. It was like black pepper and cheese sauce. It was just blah and II didn't even eat it. However, others may like it, but it wasn't that great. Sorry Nana! Overall I had a good visit! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of an interaction that left a disappointing impression. The owner appeared to be making his way around the restaurant greeting guests. He stopped by our table, warmly greeted and spoke with my son, then moved on without ever acknowledging me or my wife. It may have been completely unintentional, but it left us feeling overlooked. As someone who serves in ministry and regularly recommends businesses to church members, friends, and professional contacts, I left thinking this could have become one of my go-to recommendations. Unfortunately, that interaction changed what could have been a great relationship with the restaurant. One thing I've learned in life is that you never know who's sitting at your table. A simple greeting can turn a customer into a loyal supporter. The food was excellent, and I sincerely wish this business continued success. When I arrived, there were no cars in the parking lot and it looked closed. I went up to the front door to see if there was a note but all that was posted there were their normal hours. Based on that, they were supposed to be open. Not a good start. I posted about this on Facebook, saying it looked like they were closed for good. A friend of ours replied the next day that she had moved down the street from Juicy's and she saw the restaurant open for business that day. I headed over again and they were open. Soul Food, Comfort Food, Home Cooking, whatever you want to call it, that's what they're serving at Juicy's with a large side of FRIENDLINESS. I grew up in south Texas, so a bowl of pinto beans with a piece of cornbread is a meal I love to this day. However, I was craving chicken, so I ordered the chicken plate (you can specify 4 wings) with mashed potatoes w/brown gravy and pinto beans (of course). Have you noticed that most dining out today is underwhelming? It seems to me the restaurants are using cheaper ingredients. Everything tastes bland. BUT NOT AT JUICY'S! The meal hit the spot for me. The wings are "whole wings," meaning there are no "drums" and "flats." Each wing at Juicy's is BOTH PARTS. It's the whole wing! I was full after just three but Bonnie grabbed the last one to "keep it from going to waste." (I think she was keeping it from going to MY waist...) The beans reminded me of my mom's pinto beans. The brown gravy on the potatoes reminded me of my grandmother's gravy at Thanksgiving. The cornbread was almost like cake. Even the music was great, featuring R&B and blues. We found ourselves humming along to the music as we feasted on the food. We're definitely going back.

That statement confused me because it was Saturday around noon and the couple had to wait for someone to come unlock the door which implied that they were just opening. The couple inquired about options other than fried and was told that meatloaf was it. One asked if there was pork in the sides. Her response was "no pork at all" and the lady said, " Except the fried pork chops, right?" Well, as you see from the photo, there's pork in the greens. I ordered fried pork chops with mac & cheese, yams, and collard greens which came with cornbread. The only other side listed was cabbage. Lemon pound cake was the dessert offered. I was told my order should be ready in about 20 minutes. I left and went to Starbucks up the street and came back about 30 minutes later and he was putting my order into the bag.
