I haven't been to Dairy Belle since I think around last January of 2020, mainly because of the canary-lockdown and because they were moving to a new location across the street. So I popped in today to get some Canadian grub and to check out their new location. Pro's~~ - huge new indoor location - more food options and scooped ice-cream instead of just the soft machine made they had at the old location - lot's of indoor seating Cons~~ - I miss the charm of the old hole in the wall outdoor location - I didn't see any of the French Canadian employees that I have grown accustomed to over the years - all the employees I saw were diaper swaddlers For the first time ever, and I've been coming to this place for at least 5 years, some of the cheese cruds on my fries were cold. The taste of the gravy was also off, I'm not sure if it's because non-French Canadians are making the food or what, but I didn't enjoy my poutine as I typically would. I used to go to the competition about a 1/2 mile away (classic & locally famous old fashioned shop) but found this place on Yelp. This icecream is better tasting, they give larger portions & you can sit & eat your countertop take away order instead of being forced to eat inside & charged for it or just stand in the parking lot like the other shop. When in this area or getting someone from the airport, I will go here. If I'm closer to Miami, I'll go to Cleveland's where it's another amazing, but different, icecream shop. Love love love this place. It's a French Canadian run restaurant with very typical French Canadian food like poutine which, is fantastic. The ice cream though is what I crave the most. They soft serve is thick and creamy and so smooth. The chocolate dip is my absolute favorite. They also serve Hershey brand ice cream and it's very good quality. A big influencer was the fact that our Yelp Community friend Hope P had reviewed this place on # Check please last year. The Ice Cream didn't do it for me and I had a few different flavors. And by every decision, I mean the decision to drink like you actually know what you're doing... Guys, I don't drink. I really thought this was a Dairy Queen. I have past it 1000 times on the way to the beach and even though there seems to be a good sized crowd most of the time I still didn't think much of it. I was terribly happy waiting out yet another rain storm. There are covered picnic tables and the service is great.
