One family joined me on the benches. They said stopping for Jackson Dairy was a mandatory stop on the way to and from grandparents' house in Laurel Caverns. Getting gas to make the trip home was 1 stop shopping.

They had around 15 flavors to choose from. They have your basic flavors of Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Orea, Cookie Dough, Mint, etc. I ordered one scoop ($1.95) of vanilla with peanut butter cups and peanut butter blended in the vanilla. The Ice Cream looked like Peanut butter and I was given a generous scoop on a sugar cone. My first lick and I was impressed. The Ice cream was de cently creamy and had a lovely peanut butter flavor. The Peanut Butter cups were plentiful and chopped up throughout the ice cream. My friend ordered a Root Beer Float for $2.95 ish. He retrieved a 20 oz Mug Root Beer from the fridge and she plopped a large amount of vanilla into a cup. I was impressed with this set-up because he not only got what looked like at least 2 scoops of Vanilla but she gave him the 20 oz when she only used about 6 oz of Root Beer. I would say this was a good deal as he could refill his cup with root beer or drink it afterwards. The rest of store was a chocolate heaven. Most candy cost around $5.25 a pound. They had plenty of sugar free options as well. The specialty chocolate was a little expensive in my mind. I can find it cheaper at a few other places. I don't know if the two ladies working were Gene or not but they were friendly and served up some good ice cream. If traveling south of Pittsburgh towards Uniontown then I would recommend a stop here.

There is a nice porch with some outdoor seating. We went on a Sunday evening in April, and it was not terribly crowded. The line moved fast and service was prompt. All of the girls working were nice and professional. It seemed like one of the girls was in training, and even with this the service was great. Being that it was my first time visiting, I had a lot of questions about the menu. The girl cashiering was kind and willing to answer all of my questions, as well as give product suggestions. We both opted for parfaits with the vanilla custard - the Apple Pie and the Strawberry Pretzel. They were huge and so delicious!!! We also got a pup cup to-go for our dog, and he loved that as well. I thought the prices of everything were very fair, and it is a fantastic value for the quality of product received. In addition to the custard offerings, there is a gift shop to patronize. There is a lot of country-themed gift and novelty items, and it was fun to peruse while waiting in line to order.
