We went end of August, hope to come back when the weather gets cooler. We came for my son's bday and I'm glad I found this restaurant last minute. The customer service was warm and friendly. The food presentation and quality were great. We ordered crab cakes and little pizza bites for appetizer. For dinner we had shrimp entree and also salmon dish. For dessert we had their ice cream and also tiramisu. All in all a great gem in Dahlonega area. This restaurant is less than 10 minutes from north Georgia university. They are only open two days a week and reservations are necessary. They also host this venue has weddings and rehearsal dinner and I would really look into since it's so pretty plus food is so good. Parking was on the premise and it was free.

After researching many of the dining options in the Dahlonega area, we ultimately decided on White Oak Bistro. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with rolling pastures, classic fencing, and horses grazing nearby. From the restaurant, you can enjoy distant, long-range mountain views, creating a splendid and picturesque setting. Upon arriving at the bistro, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated by the windows with a lovely view. The dining room features a refined fine-dining atmosphere, with soft music gently playing in the background. For dinner, we chose the gouda fritters, roasted salmon, and colossal shrimp, followed by tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious--especially the fritters and the shrimp entrée. The bread was perfectly baked and fresh, and it paired wonderfully with the flavorful shrimp broth. We truly enjoyed the entire experience and highly recommend White Oak Bistro for anyone planning a relaxing mountain getaway.

Hi, my usual 1/2 pound cheeseburger on ciabatta bread, with coleslaw and French fries. Daughter had their delicious chicken fingers with okra and french fries, and my brother had the 1/3 pound bacon cheeseburger, with coleslaw and fries, all outstanding! You are missing out if you do not come to Foothills Café on your travels to Dahlonega!

We glanced at other tables- the blueberry pancakes at the next table looked amazing. I hemmed and hawed but being a biscuit connoisseur, I went with the country platter. Big mistake. We both ordered platters with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. The eggs were crunchier than the bacon. Disappointingly, the biscuit was a standard frozen foot service reheat. The winner was the French toast. And, as I paid the bill, I ordered a cinnamon roll to go. It was touted as freshly made. It was just after 8am... it was dry and unappetizing. Very disappointing experience all around. We did find the staff lovely and warm. The food didn't match their energy.

The burger and tater tots were also very good. The menu offers a wide variety of specialty burgers with plenty of customization options, including grass-fed beef for a small upcharge. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. The tavern has a darker, eclectic vibe with artwork, punk music, and a slightly edgy feel. The décor fits the restaurant's origins and personality, though the lighting--including in the restrooms--is quite dim. Parking downtown can be somewhat difficult during busy times.

First off thank you to our server Mattie for taking great care of us throughout our dinning experience. We started off our meal with the Mac and Cheese bites Mattie suggested and they were delicious. Then we moved on to our main courses. I went with the All American Chili Burger and fries that were very good. My better half went for the turkey burger and pasta salad enjoying every bite. We highly recommend you stop in and give this hidden gem a try. No pun intended it was a mining town at one time. The atmosphere was a great local vibe. We will be back.

We had our 12 lb bundle of puppy joy with us so to the back deck we went. I think Dakotah was the only server on the main floor, both inside and out because it took a long time. Long time for water. He was busy even though the restaurant wasn't full. Poor guy. My hubby ordered the muffaletta and wasn't impressed. He ate it though. He loved his Abita root beer. I decided to order from the side menu and I'm so happy I did. The andouille sausage was grilled and tasty. The maque choux was amazing. Think Mexican corn with a Louisiana twist. Perfection!! The loaded grits were also wonderful- chocked full of gouda, bacon, and green onions. Delicious! The gumbo was thick like a stew. The flavor was smoky and sublime. My only beef is instead of all gumbo, the cup was filled mostly with rice... topped with gumbo. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. However, due to the pace of things, the underwhelming sandwich and perception of getting shorted on the chicken and gumbo. I wouldn't hesitate to swing by and order a maque choux to go as a snack except they charge $1 for the to-go container.
