To the blizzards we ordered that were basically melted to which they definitely didn't turn them upside down for us.. as the server knew better than to attempt this trick. This place gets really PACKED during the summer months but staff do their best to satisfy customers. I've been coming here for years - tucked away in the Food Lion shopping center. There are long lines of people but the line moves quite fast. Thanks to COVID, there are no tables or chairs available inside (which I respect, greatly, given how much this site cares about the health of its customers). If you're in-doubt, get the Peanut Butter Parfait (soft-serve ice cream with chocolate syrup and peanuts). It has over 700 calories but worth way more to your tastebuds. Wanting "healthy" options? 6/26/20 Apparently the Booty Treats icecream wasn't satisfying to my wife. So when you want icecream done right, you gotta go to Dairy Queen. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus has the inside of the restaurant closed for sitting in it. Many of the customers did not wear face covers while the employees wore face masks or face covers with gloves. Joslyn our server took our order. She did a fine job listing to what was needed. She seemed to enjoy hearing her native tongue when I returned for napkins. Her eyes lit up when she heard my Spanish. Guess she doesn't hear it enough in North Carolina Outer Banks area. Came here the other day for some blizzards and regular ice cream. The young lady and gentleman at the counter were quite friendly and eager to take our order, but unfortunately everyone was uninformed regarding allergens. I asked if there was a particular allergen in one of the foods, and when these two younger employees did not know they appropriately asked the manager. In a remarkable display of apathy and ineptitude this large older man simply shrugged and stated he thought peanuts had gluten and that he couldn't be sure. Is this how DQ trains their managers to handle allergen information requests? I struggled to look it up on the website on my phone and the manager didn't even bother to look it up using the stores in-house resources, the standard operating procedure in any fast food chain franchise in compliance with the FDA / Food Allergen Labeling Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA). PS: Regarding COVID-19 management: They do not enforce masks inside the store. They have a 17 person covid store capacity/limit, which may make sense given the square-footage on paper, but in reality all the customers cluster together not properly distanced from each other in the main area near the service counters. Pretty disappointing and honestly risky. No drive through or car service. No call ahead. No employees enforcing the mask or capacity limits. Mostly teenagers without masks in large groups. Wouldn't recommend coming here if you love your family. read more

By far the worst DQ we've ever been to. We ordered 4 blizzards and it took the employees so long to get them made, even though there were barely any other people in the store. The 2 women behind the counter both seemed a little clueless. They filled up the blizzard cups with ice cream and then took at least 10 minutes getting the toppings in them. By that time, our blizzards were mostly all melted (they definitely did NOT do the flip, probably because it would have splashed all over the countertop) and so they weren't very enjoyable. In addition, both of the women seemed to have their children there, so 3 kids kept wandering through the kitchen and touching everything while the 2 women were preparing the food. GROSS!! The health department needs to come inspect this place because that is so so unsanitary! The kids kept going outside and playing in the parking lot, and then they'd come running back in and screaming into the kitchen behind the counter. I understand childcare is hard to find, but come on! Long story short, absolutely would not recommend this DQ and certainly will never come back again. Whoever the manager is needs to get this place together before it gets shut down. read more

Visited this afternoon for a family treat. The filthy front doors and empty seats should have been a clue. Two young men worked behind the counter: one standing at the register and one sitting at a register eating a snack with his bare hands. The snack seemed to be nuts or something that requires him to put his hand all the way into his mouth. No gloves, no mask. A customer ordered and the snacking employee got up to prepare it. He grabbed paper cup and then proceeded to adjust his underwear and shorts and his crotch area 5-6 times. He then went to pull the ice cream lever. All of this took place WITHOUT him washing or sanitizing his hands! So he went from bare hands in mouth to those dirty hands in his clothing crotch area to serving customers. One word - gross. The customer was watching this take place and asked to cancel her order and refund which was given. He was asked nicely by customers to wash his hands and he said "no, I don't care." The manager was requested and customers were told to move to the side and wait if he might come. Their names were requested and they said "no, we don't care." It certainly shows! In the times of Covid, for your health and hygiene, please take your tourist dollars elsewhere. read more

During coronavirus, the COVID-19 guidelines aren't being followed. It is packed inside and the staff doesn't do anything about tourists who choose not to wear face masks. The worst thing about this place is the disorganization. It is very difficult to know which is your order (especially when it is packed inside). You do not receive a number or any type of ticket- they just call out the name of ice cream and then multiple people are lunging for it. This makes for confusion and chaos. read more
