Good ice cream! Service was friendly! Not much ambiance! I was surprised they were hesitant to honor my DQ app deals but eventually did.

Went there today. Signs clearly state "no mask no service" but they let people order who weren't wearing masks.

The energy is upbeat without being chaotic, and it feels like a place where people are actually enjoying themselves. The food is good and tastes authentically Mexican, which makes sense considering much of the staff is as authentic as it gets. That always matters. Portions are generous, which helps balance out some of the pricing and keeps you from leaving hungry or annoyed. If I had one knock, it would be that prices are a bit higher than they used to be, but honestly that is everywhere and everyone is just trying to survive. Service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed. You can see why this place is a local staple and also a magnet for tourists. It knows exactly what it is and leans into it. And the drinks deserve a special mention. They are stiff in the best way and absolutely appreciated. Overall a solid choice when you want good food, strong drinks, and a night that feels like a small vacation.

The dining area and bar area need to be separated in some way as we were seated right around the wall next to the bar which was too loud for my dining preference This was not my 1st visit to the area but definitely my last visit to this establishment.

It's got a low-key no frills vibe that is charming in its own kind of way, and we definitely appreciated their shellacked bagel decor. We got everything to go, our overall assessment is: meh. The bagels themselves are fine, but the they put way too much cream cheese which just ends up oozing out everywhere. The plain bagel with scallion/chive cream cheese and tomatoes was pretty good, but the sesame one with eggs and cheese was unimpressive because 1) it needed some acidity, and 2) the eggs were rubbery, like they were made in a microwave with egg mix that came out of a carton. No thank you. Our kiddo's plain everything was fine. We asked at the register if their muffins were homemade and were told "yes," but we strongly doubt it because the pistachio one we ordered tasted *exactly* like the artificial almond flavor pistachio ones that are a distinct product of Sysco/Whatever Massive Food Purveyor. So that was a bummer. Overall, we're glad we tried it at long last, and maybe we'll come again and order better. But we'll still be on the lookout for a good breakfast place to grab some quick food whenever we're not in the mood for Pie in the Sky next time we're in the area.

They charged me for 3 large sodas plus my drink, it was over $10 just for the waters alone, they were in small cups, they took 10 minutes just to get. Mind you the only thing shown on the drive thru screen was the frozen drink I ordered. So when I handed them the cash they never told me a total so i was expecting to pay what was on the screen, they give me my change no receipt, and it's much less than was shown. I told them I'm not paying over $10 for 3 small tap waters, they asked for them back so I have to get them back from my young children. Then they give me an attitude and take 15 more minutes to give me my change, as the so called manager is repeatedly saying we're trying to help you holding my change in his hand for over 5 minutes instead of just handing it to me, the two employees were acting shady with the money. And being rude, not saying you charge almost $4each for small tap waters, not giving a total, and disappearing with my money and taking for ever to get me my change and then my refund. I will never go to that burger king again. Just as terrible service as McDonald's in falmouth. The tall middle aged manager shaved head, and the younger maybe 20 year old female worker. Horrible customer service, lost a loyal customer over tap waters.

It is such an anomaly to find a cafe that is open past 5:00pm, and it was exciting to see that Pie in the Sky stays open later for the perfect after dinner coffee or tea treat. The inside of the shop is cozy and warm, and there's ample seating both indoors and on the outdoor patio. They roast all their beans in house (peep the giant machine inside to prove it!), and the pastries are baked fresh daily- nothing random lying around in cases for days on end like some other spots I've visited. My coffee was flavorful and strong, and the accompanying blueberry muffins had a tasty streusel topping. It made for a nice light evening snack, and also a welcome respite from needing to go hang out at a bar after dinner just because nothing else is open. Service was prompt and friendly, there was a short line, but the team kept everything moving. It is definitely a popular pre and post ferry spot due to its proximity to the docks, and you will want to add Pie in the Sky to your list if you ever find yourself in Woods Hole and wanting coffee after 5pm!

You could feel the energy as soon as you walked in. The bartenders were definitely in the weeds most of the night, but you'd never know it from their attitude -- still friendly, still smiling, and somehow making me feel like I'd been coming there for years (first visit, by the way). Grabbed a veggie pizza (solid choice), a cold beer, and settled in for a couple of hours of great local music and that perfect "this is exactly where I'm supposed to be tonight" vibe. If this is what a random Saturday looks like here, I'll be back.

Review: Jack's Restaurant and Bar - A Tale of Two Temperatures…read moreIf you're looking for a spot in Falmouth where the vibes are high but the Celsius is... conservative, Jack's Restaurant and Bar is your destination. I went in with high hopes and a healthy appetite. Here's the breakdown of our culinary "Goldilocks" experience--except nothing was actually hot. The Order The Boneless Ribeye: This steak was seasoned to perfection and tender enough to make a grown man cry. It had the soul of a five-star meal, but the temperature of a brisk October morning on Old Silver Beach. I'm convinced the chef cooked it beautifully and then gave it a pep talk in a room-temperature hallway for ten minutes before sending it out. The Scallops: My companion's scallops were seared wonderfully. They looked like little pillows of heaven. Unfortunately, they were also roughly the same temperature as actual pillows. Delicious? Yes. Did they require a scarf? Possibly. The "Lukewarm" Mystery It's honestly an impressive feat of physics. To have a crust that crisp on a ribeye and a sear that golden on a scallop, yet have both arrive with the thermal energy of a glass of tap water, defies the laws of thermodynamics. Pro Tip: If you're the type of person who always burns their tongue on the first bite, Jack's is your safe haven. You can dive in with the reckless abandon of a seagull hitting a discarded fry. The Verdict The food at Jack's is legitimately tasty. The flavors are 10/10, the bar scene is lively, and the service is friendly. We didn't even send it back because, frankly, we were too busy enjoying the flavor to care about the lack of steam. It's the only place I've been where the "warm" welcome applies to the steak, too. Final Score: (Four stars--would have been five, but I had to check my ribeye for a pulse to see if it was hibernating.)
