I was craving some Dairy Queen ice cream, and this location was the closest to my house. What a pleasant surprise! This spot has that "old-school" DQ vibe that took me straight back to my high school days. The 50's-style building with outdoor windows is pure nostalgia! I visited right before closing, so there were no crowds, and parking was easy to find. However, the parking lot is small, so it might be a challenge during busier times. I ordered the classic Oreo Blizzard, and it was just as delicious as I remembered--creamy, perfectly blended, and hit the spot! Been here a couple of times and every time it's been cool. From the staff to the ice cream. My favorite from Dairy Queen has and will always be the strawberry dipped cone. I remember having it as a kid and to still see that they have it is very nostalgic. FYI this is just a store front there's no inside seating to expect to order from a window and picking up from the same window. But it's always pretty busy at this place. read more

My very first time at a Dairy Queen in America, and it was awesome to see that it was an old school Dairy Queen. I had just got home with my kids after doing a bit of food shopping. I happen to check my phone to see what was going on Yelp and noticed Kim C's comment on her check-in that on March 20 only, Dairy Queen locations are giving each person one free small vanilla cone. I looked at the time as I sat on my bed contemplating to leave the house. I went into the living room where my kids were conversing and asked them if they wanted to go get a free ice cream cone, to which I quickly heard a resounding reply of YES! With the afternoon traffic and maneuvering through the road construction on State Road 7, it took me about 15 minutes to reach Dairy Queen. My kids jumped out of the vehicle and approached one of the two order windows where an employee handed each of them and myself a soft served vanilla cone, which was creamy and delicious. I quickly observed that besides soft served cones, Dairy Queen also serves a variety of sundaes, blizzards treats, and novelties. There is limited outdoor seating for patrons. I may consider coming here again soon. read more

Even though this is Dairy Queen they operate different from all other Dairy Queen's. The blizzards are supposed to be thick enough so that they don't fall out of the cup when you get them. When I got my blizzard I asked the girl if my blizzard was supposed to be free because she did not turn my cup upside down. She told me that she wasn't good at it. Then she reached out of the window to flip it. I asked for the manager and she told me that this Dairy Queen doesn't operate that way. My blizzards were already melting. On top of that they only accept cash. I rather drive out of the way to go to another Dairy Queen that will follow the Dairy Queen's way of business. read more

There is no drive-thru (like so many fast food places in South Florida) and 2 service windows/lines which can be frustratingly slow. Plus it is still cash only. I was there tonight for about 45 minutes until I got my order, thanks to some customer ahead of me who spent 10-15 minutes discussing her order of 2 items. The clerks need to learn how to move the customers along more effectively. The parking lot is small and not well laid out too. I miss the DQs in the Midwest where they are nice and efficient. This one of the oldest, original Florida DQ shops as is evidenced by the classic, aging signage. Friendly and fast employees, most smiling high school kids. Ice cream only - no food. Cash only policy. Upside-down test policy not active. Plenty of parking. Drive up only; quiet bench under a tree out back if weather permits and you don't want to eat in the car. When heading south to my home in Miami, this is my frequent and favorite detour for a Blizzard - Reese's peanut butter cups. Yum! read more

This location is a blast from the past - complete with signage from the late 1950's or early 1960's. Great retro atmosphere! My favorite menu item is the original soft serve cone in vanilla. As a child, I loved to order a "dipped cone" with chocolate on top from the DQ location in my home town of River Rouge, MI. The Miramar DQ is located at Pembroke Road and State Road 7 - west of I-95 and east of University Drive. It's close enough to my neighborhood that I can easily get a cone whenever I want! Great DQ quality of ice cream and blizzards. Wish I had known beforehand that this location is cash-only. There is a "well-used" atm in the back (prepare for a $3 surcharge if you're $.50 short). Otherwise, what you see is what you get: walk-up ice cream stand; order at the window, get your ice cream, enjoy it on the picnic tables behind the place. If I could I would give this place a half star. The man that was serving us wasn't listening and since I am younger than him I am automatically wrong when he gets the order wrong. He also had an attitude and said geez when he had to fix his mistake and then he messed up again because he doesn't listen. Overall he made my experience the worst and made me very frustrated. Open since 1950 is an incredible feat! I grew up in North Miami and Hollywood, so this DQ location was where my parents used to take me. I was driving by the other day. It was mid afternoon, I wasn't really hungry but all the memories of ordering at the window and eating my chocolate dipped cone before it melted in the Florida heat came rushing back. I quickly pulled in the parking lot in front of the tiny building. It has no frills, and really no upgrades other than a paint job in the 30+ years I have been there. I ordered a Blizzard since driving and eating a chocolate dipped cone seemed more dangerous than holding a cup and a spoon! My order is no longer on the menu, but they still make it. The woman who waited on me was extremely friendly and I tipped her for the excellent customer service. The ice cream was a nice treat on an unusually hot Florida "fall" day and the nostalgia- you just can't beat that! read more
