I love Dairy Queen's blizzards so this was all I had on my mind. Parking is pretty easy since it's located in a plaza. The staff was prompt and ready to help us when we were ready. The location itself is pretty run down and feels a bit ominous to be in. I haven't been to a Dairy Queen in years, and since there was one close by to where we ate dinner, we decided to stop in for dessert. This location feels like we're in the 90s, it's dim and the furniture is older. Service was very good with employees who want to help you. You can't go wrong with a classic Oreo Blizzard. Usually when you order a dessert with Oreos as a topping, the Oreos aren't crunchy and taste stale, but this is completely the opposite. They were crunchy and tasted fresh! There was a young lady with an ugly bright red bow at the cash register and she was incredibly disrespectful. Because of this inconvenience, the employee gave me a 35% discount, so I only paid $5.15! I was delighted by this surprise, and my Blizzard came with so much cookie dough! I left with a big smile! It's official.... I think I give up on this location. They are always so nice and friendly and I went during a time when no one was there. I had this great review prepared because, let's be real, how could this early visit go wrong! I left a pediatrician appointment because my lil one got his shots. Poor thing was crying and I calmed him down. I figured I would cheer myself sad mama self up and get my favorite ice cream treat, a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. When I walked in, it took awhile for what seemed to be the manager to come upfront because she was on her cellphone. I was prepared to say my order closely and clearly because I didn't want it mistaken for the Reese's Pieces and not the Cups. She rung it up and made it quite quickly. I asked for my receipt because I always need it and then I was on my way. When I got to a light I couldn't help but dig in, but it tasted weird. It was chewy which was unusual. Then I thought, why does this taste like Butter Fingers?! I look closer at the specs of peanut butter nuggets, then at the receipt which says Butter Fingers. I then make a u-turn to go back. I got there and she was busy about to place a cake in the displays. I told her my same thought about first thinking the Cups were stale, then seeing what she rung up. She proceeds to tell me that she just hit a random button since they are all the same size but she made it will Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I give it to her and she makes another. This time I am watching closely and see the candidates says Reese's. She hands it to me and says try it now, but so didn't need to because this time there were not specs of peanut butter nuggets and I can clearly see the chunks of peanut butter Cups. I then leave, but realize she took my receipt back to look at it but never gave it back. When I ask about it she says sorry, I threw it sways ‍. My pet peeve about receipts is to give to all and if we don't want it, we can throw it away. People can need them for many different reasons. I need when so am on business trips and you have to have to get your refund from your job, etc. Even with the coupon issues, I was okay, but it seems care is no longer there. I also haven't seen the great manager who I use to always see when so went (she might be the owner). An old couple walks in behind me. We all patiently waited. When they were done. A girl walks in the door. I was shocked to find something vegan at a Dairy Queen, but behold, the prepackaged vegan Dilly Bar! This location is one busy spot- I've been in here a few times and the line is always out the door. The shop has a max of 12 persons in the store due to COVID and requires all patrons to wear a mask. Everything is made fresh, and after watching the team prepare quite a few orders over several visits, I've never seen a complaint. The counter, tabletops, and floors are always a mess. I understand this is a small place so at most they have two people on staff, but they really should think about investing in someone to keep the place clean. This was such a incredibly cool show LITERALLY .... the service was rapid and the desert was yummy though the flavor I got was a bit to sweet for me it's a newer flavor than I'm used to which the chocolate chip dough blizzard. First let me start by explaining that the person who forced me make this a 3 stars review Wise actually pleasant in the beginning. She was not rude but I believe the way she handled the situation was not very professional. The store closes at 10 PM, it was 9:58 pm when a customer ( or should I say would-be customer ) came in holding her cell phone up with the time showing 9:58 PM, you could tell she was desperate for ice cream. (I've been there) ...Alexis the employee apologized and told the customer that they were closed. There were maybe seven more people waiting to be served. The girl held up her phone and said "no it's 9:58 PM" but the employee said "yeah but we're closed." At that point the customer had already approached the register asking for the employees name which is how I obtained Alexia's name. I chimed in by saying the customer was already inside the store and that the door states the shop closes at 10 PM and that the customer should be waited on. Someone on the line said "yeah but they're already backed up" frankly I don't think that's neither here nor there. The door was not locked therefore the shop was NOT closed. I totally appreciate the job that these young adults do but at the end of the day it's the reputation of franchise these worker are supposed to protect. It would have taken 5 more minutes to make one more ice cream cone or cup. I guess my point is that customer service needs to be followed through, the employees need to be retrained the good old fashion way which is remembering that the customer is always right ..unless of course your life is in danger. I know there's two sides to every story and some may say that it's not that serious but isn't it.? ..That ice cream cone may have been the light of that persons day or that mom may have just wanted to give a sick child an ice cream cup... My pregnant wife, daughter and myself went to this establishment today. We get there about 9:58 and I walk in as a gentleman is walking out. My one star rating is not based on the customer service attention that I received because that honestly was very good. My rating is based on the quality of the purchased item, which was an Oreo blizzard. I ordered a medium blizzard and added Oreos and chocolate cake crunch. First, the price was surprising very high and second it tasted very bland. I was questioning whether it was even real Oreos and the ice cream didn't taste right. Now understand what disappointed me was that I was expecting a much better product seeing that Dairy Queen specializes in these particular items. It's sad that I paid double the price of what I would have paid at McDonalds for a much better tasting product. It's the usual 90+ degrees here in SoFlo and the best way to cool down IS to get some delicious and refreshing ice cream! We happened to be around the area and we found DQ to be the closest. It's a small little ice cream shop with fresh waffle cone made daily. The ice cream was cold and refreshing but I do want to warn you on the waffle cone, it is a bit fragile and if you wait too long, it becomes a bit soggy and could break off. In addition, to serving ice cream, they also have smoothies, brownies, cookies, sundaes, parfait, and cakes for any occasion. The price of each waffle cone is reasonable; $4 a cone and they give you a generous size. Check out their online menu for more varieties. I'll be back here again. :-) read more
