I ordered a large Reese Cup/Butterfinger blizzard and received less than HALF the size of a mini snack size mixture, it was all vanilla ice cream both times! And yes I had them remake it, you know it's bad when you take a blizzard back and still feel a need to write a review because the remake was no better! I even dug all the way to the bottom thinking all the mix would be there...NOPE! Twice let me know it wasn't a mishap. I'm ticked I wasted my money and dessert for the evening. I was in the neighborhood and have been craving a cherry dipped Qilly Bar...so sad they had chocolate and butterscotch but no cherry.....but they had cherry dip.!!!!! I ordered a small vanilla cone with cherry dip. and I must have gotten a winkle I my eyes when it was handed to me the comment was made, "how you look happy" and yes I was. We always end our trip to New Smyrna Beach with a stop at the DQ on Dixie Federal Highway. There always seems to be a line, but we don't mind because the blizzards are better here than any other DQ. The staff is mostly high school kids, but they do a fabulous job! The service was perfect as always and the blizzard ice cream was just as expected! The staff was friendly and quick at serving customers. There were a lot of bees swarming the outside of the takeout window. I was also a little bummed they didn't flip my blizzard upside down. Not sure if that is still a thing? My blizzard tasted great though! I saw another customer who ordered hot dogs, and they looked pretty good. Overall positive experience. As long as I can remember this Dairy Queen has been around. They have the best, chili and slaw hot dog around! Always fresh! They have great weekday and weekend specials. All the people working in this tiny shop are friendly. You gotta know you may have to stand in line, but it's worth it! Lots of out door seating. Iconic Dairy Queen! Lots of history here George Clooney was here a few months back filming his new movie and this place was one of the settings for the film. Excellent employees always helpful and friendly great customer service and wonderful products. I'm amazed every time I past this place there seems to be people standing in line it's that good. Stopped in after dinner on 2/06/23 to treat the kids to some ice cream. Staff was horribly rude. The first was super rude then when I asked for a manger another girl comes out and says "I'm not a manger but I'm the oldest one here". She was just as rude as the first girl. Then she proceeds to the back of the store shaking her head and running her mouth to where I can hear her. Is this the way you train your staff to treat customer?? It's right in the high way. The ice cream is always so good even the simplest soft serve vanilla on a waffle cone is great. The staff is super friendly, great place for kids! New Smynra Beach Dairy Queen is basically a 5 star with ONE EXCEPTION. The no-see-ums (a biting insect) is HORRIBLE. It's all you can do to stand in line to get your order without horrible bites and itching. It is such a shame they don't spray because the little park area they provide is gorgeous but the insect bites make it miserable. It is so bad that they have cans of spray sitting at the windows where you order. That means they are well aware of this problem but are not attacking the problem.
