Old school feel and vibe that is exactly what every ice cream spot should strive for. I ordered a large Reese Cup/Butterfinger blizzard and received less than HALF the size of a mini snack size mixture, it was all vanilla ice cream both times! And yes I had them remake it, you know it's bad when you take a blizzard back and still feel a need to write a review because the remake was no better! I was in the neighborhood and have been craving a cherry dipped Qilly Bar...so sad they had chocolate and butterscotch but no cherry.....but they had cherry dip.!!!!! We always end our trip to New Smyrna Beach with a stop at the DQ on Dixie Federal Highway. There always seems to be a line, but we don't mind because the blizzards are better here than any other DQ. The staff is mostly high school kids, but they do a fabulous job! The service was perfect as always and the blizzard ice cream was just as expected! There is outdoor seating with blue and yellow umbrellas and tropical landscaping. Always a pleasure to go there! read more

We are not sure whose fault it is, however, we ordered a milkshake, and when we got it, it was more like soup than a milkshake, it was completely melted and unfortunately tasted very bad period it was a blizzard period upon contacting DoorDash. They referred us to someone else and it was a long arduous process, which got us nowhere. And left us thinking that we will never try Dairy Queen again. read more

As long as I can remember this Dairy Queen has been around. They have the best, chili and slaw hot dog around! Always fresh! They have great weekday and weekend specials. All the people working in this tiny shop are friendly. You gotta know you may have to stand in line, but it's worth it! Lots of out door seating. The ice cream so good with fresh toppings and fresh cones. Every time you get a blizzard they turn it upside down like your suppose to with a blizzard! This particular DQ opened back in 1953, when you walk up to the counters, you can see a picture of when they first opened and you soon realize that hardly anything has changed. It's so charming, and beautiful, not just the original building, but the entire area in itself, especially in the afternoon when the classic cars drive up and the scent of salty air from the beach that's only a block away mixes with the aroma of the hot fudge on your sundae; just doesn't get any better then that. read more

This has got to be one of the oldest DQs around. I don't think they've remodeled the place since they opened in ?? They've definitely held onto those real old school vibes. The service was fast the night I went because there was surprising no one in line. Every time I've passed this place there's always a long wait. Such a great spot for ice cream and blizzards out in New Smyrna Beach. This classic icon has been around forever, and it is so cool that they have done little to change the historic look. Everything you know and love about a Dairy Queen is here, minus any seats that are not outside. This is the type of place people come and hang out, and I'm sure that will be back once we are past all the Covid stuff. Stopped in after dinner on 2/06/23 to treat the kids to some ice cream. Staff was horribly rude. The first was super rude then when I asked for a manger another girl comes out and says "I'm not a manger but I'm the oldest one here". She was just as rude as the first girl. Then she proceeds to the back of the store shaking her head and running her mouth to where I can hear her. Is this the way you train your staff to treat customer??
