Found my cherry dipped
Adam H.

I only visit for the cherry dipped vanilla cones. Something I can't find at the DQ's down in San Antonio, but can find at most DQ's here. Service at this place always seems friendly. Enjoy coming here.

Old time ice cream This Dairy Queen looks like it's been around for a while. One of the small take out ones with no inside seating and no burgers or fried food. Just ice cream which is fine with me because that is the only thing I ever get at DQ. They have the usually selection of Dairy Queen products and lots of signs and menus giving the prices and different options. I've been here many times and always got exactly what I ordered and received it quickly. One thing about DQ is that it is consistent. A blizzard in Florida is going to be exactly like a blizzard in Maine. Nice to know what you are getting. The place is old and has just a scruffy old bench to sit on but somehow that seems how it should be. The employees here have always been efficient and pleasant and sitting on that little bench on the side of the building watching the beach traffic on RT 1 go by just seems proper while eating DQ. No, it not classy place or gourmet ice cream. But they do have blizzards and the other DQ treats. And in the summer near the ocean that is enough.

Dairy Queen cake for my 29th birthday party. Perfectly done, in my opinion.

Love. This. Dairy. Queen. Went in asking for a cake. Not just any cake, but one with a very specific picture on it. Now, this DQ doesn't do that thing where they print out a picture, but the young women behind the counter told me they would do their best. I went over the next to pick it up and the cake was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Definitely a fine addition to one of my best birthdays. I've been here on multiple occasions. A lot of the DQs I've been to have their down days, but this one seems to be spot on pretty much every time we go. Add to this the fact they're open a lot later than other DQ's.

It's a DQ -- that's all you need to say! Go and get a Blizzard -- you won't regret it.

Front of the store, outdoor outside.

This Dairy Queen is a very simple one and theres no indoor seating, only outdoor. Prices are decent and the cashiers are friendly most of the time. DQ is always good to get for a treat now and then!

Cool treats only here

The cone servings continue to shrink. A large cone at this location is smaller than a medium cone at Dairy Corner (scarborough).

It is a DQ, Clean and well run. The kids that work there are diligent and polite.

Admittedly, I forget about Taco Trio sometimes. Not because it isn't good (It's great), but because…read morethey have been a staple for so long that I sort of take them for granted. That's on me, though, because this is an excellent local restaurant run by a great family. And it says something that they have been around for so long and have even survived (And expanded!) through COVID. The front counter area is a bit crowded and busy because the door opens right up into it. It's efficient but it does mean making your selection and order can be a little awkward if there are others waiting. After the counter, though, there's plenty of space inside to sit down and there are even several tables outside along the building. The food was great. Like I said, it had been a while for me, so I decided to keep it simple and go for a few tacos. I will say that $6-$6.50 feels steep for a single taco. However, I have watched and listened to many chefs say that the idea that Mexican food should be quick and cheap is a huuuge misconception. So, while I'm no food expert, I think that's something to consider, and of course I understand that prices these days for raw materials have increased considerably. Ultimately it's certainly not a cost prohibitive level at this point. I had the Pollo con Mole (Chicken with mole sauce), Taco al Pastor (Pork and pineapple), and the Barbacoa (BBQ goat) Tacos. My favorite by far was the goat. I'm a sucker for Tacos al Pastor so that was good, and the chicken with mole was great. I got an extra order of chips because I didn't realize the tacos came with chips. So heads up on that if you want some chips with your meal. One of the things I was most excited about was the Agua Fresca. Basically it's a fruit juice. They make those and horchata (rice milk) in house with rotating flavors. The agua fresca was strawberry when I got it and it was absolutely delicious. I definitely need to keep Taco Trio in mind the next time I'm hungry for some takeout. They should not be missed!

Taco Trio offers a great selection of delicious Mexican food in South Portland. All meals are…read moreserved with chips and salsa. There is a salsa bar, so you're sure to find one that is perfect for you. If you're looking for something quick and tasty, Taco Trio is the place to visit. Tip: order the guacamole!
