Daisooooooo! I was so happy to have a Daiso near me! I've heard of these stores but have lived so far away from all of them that I haven't had a chance to stop in. It is everything dreams are made of and totally worth the hype. If you're unfamiliar, I'd say Daiso is....Japanese Ikea mixed with 5 below and a splash of Dollar Tree. Unfortunately I visited about 30 minutes before close, which I think I needed an hour or hour and a half to see everything they have -- especially on the first trip. There are so many cute items ranging from decor, candy, toys, and activities. They had great household items that range from kitchen, garden, automotive and everything in between. I do wish the snack section was bigger with more variety but there are so many awesome things in this store I will survive. I was happy they had Aloha drinks, pocky, and takoyaki balls! read more

First things first, this is not an Asian Dollar Store or an Asian IKEA. The people saying that have no idea what they're talking about. For one thing, everything in the store is not $1. Second, if you've ever been to an IKEA, it looks completely different than Daiso. No restaurant, no showroom displays, etc. This location is better than the Willowbrook one. It's bigger and has a vast amount of kitchen accessories on the right side. They still have two self checkouts. Prices are cheap to moderate. The staff is friendly. No returns or exchanges, so shop vigilantly. read more

I was super excited when Daiso came to Bloomingdale because it's really close to me. I've been here a few times already. They always have a great selection of items, including home decor, stationary, hair accessories, pet toys, and so much more. If you love cutesy things, this is the spot. They also have a good selection of Japanese snacks, candy, and drinks. The prices are really fair. I bought three things for under $10. read more

The Bloomingdale location is a 2-fer where you get two stores in one location - Daiso and Standard Products. These are very popular Japanese stores, especially Daiso which have been on the West Coast for many years now. They offer home decor, kitchenware, beauty products, bags, accessories, Japanese-inspired snacks, stationery and more. In the cosmetics section, the prevalent brand is UR GLAM. You can find many unique things here, cute things and useful gadgets (especially for the kitchen). There is so much to see! This location is one of the bigger ones in IL. Prices ranges from $1.75 - $15.25. I like that they have the converted price right on the shelves on the Standard Products side. On the Daiso side, you have to look for the price in Yen and use the conversion chart to find the price. This place has the cutest stuff, not to mention lots of practical storage solutions at reasonable prices. The selection is huge! Known as the largest Daiso in Chicagoland. It's pretty neat, gives me an Ikea-ish vibe. Lots of products. My only con is that there is the left section of the store with the displays and stuff, the way the stalls are arranged doesn't flow. The "chi" doesn't flow. When I shop at a store I have a systematic way to go through all the aisles. With this there is no natural flow, you sort of zig-zag and then maneuver around, can be confusing sometimes lol. I took a spin through this location of Daiso, the Japanese dollar store, while in the area. This location is quite large, and a good part of it showcases "Standard Products," which is kind of like organizational items similar to those at Ikea or The Container Store. The rest of the shop is the usual Daiso suspects: stationery, housewares, party supplies, toys, snacks, and so forth. Glad we are getting more locations in this area! read more

I love coming here, everything I have purchased fromhere in the past is typically better quality than a dollar tree. I will say the employees just hang out in the back of the store. they have multiple people restocking the same things at the same time but no one restocks the plastic bags at checkout. read more

I AM SO STOKED THAT DAISO IS NOW IN ILLINOIS!!! This particular branch is better than the one I visited last week in Skokie (about the same size but with more not-usual products), including really cool camping accessories and 100% cotton, Japanese made towels. It is so cool to have my favorite Japanese store within driveable distance now. read more

Definitely should browse there for household goods at affordable prices. But a lot of kitchen containers' size are for more suited for Japanese families with small kitchen. There are some imported Japanese snacks and candies and instant noodles and soft drinks that is offering an alternative selection than regular supermarket. read more

I am always getting essentials here. Love Daiso. The store is always clean and neat too. I love the pen selection, to the snacks and daily essentials like keychains and makeup bags. I love my hello kitty stuff. read more
