I love every daiso everywhere but I feel like this one is one of the larger ones and always has everything in stock! Everything here is $1.50 unless marked otherwise and the cashiers will always remind you if the item is not $1.50. My motto here is that it's so cheap you might as well buy it! I've bought a huge variety of stuff here- utensils, home cleaning aids, make up, snacks, socks, even a picnic cloth! And the quality is pretty good too for how cheap it is! Snacks are delicious and from Japan :) my favorite thing here is their eyebrow pencil. I stock up on a couple everytime I run out. I've tried Anastasia brow wiz ($21) and honestly... It's like the 99 cent store had sex with the Sanrio store and this was their love child. SERIOUSLY where was this place when I lived in Irvine!!!! I spent a good two hours in this place looking at everything I could possibly need to make my life more convenient without compromising my love of cutesy things. The Japanese are geniuses, not just saying that because my fiance is Japanese. They have all kinds of things here from stationary, to home goods, to gardening tools and cosmetics, etc. The store is huge, I wonder how often they change their inventory.. I know everyone is going to be upset about this, but I have to give this Daiso location 3 stars. Why? -Products are great! I'm here frequently to buy small items at a much more affordable price compared to big name stores. -I understand that this is a dollar store, but there are so many times that the lanes are messy and crowded with items that it's hard to get around. -The lines are SLOW. I have small panic attacks and standing in one place for an extended period of time are one of the triggers for my panic attacks. Every single time I've been here to purchase an item I have had a panic attack waiting in line because they are SO SLOW! Simply opening up an extra register in the cash line and one in the card line would help out so much! Or the cashiers can work actively? I'm not sure. The new Daiso branch in Santa Ana is much cleaner and organized! I would definitely check that store out instead! read more

If you have an issue with a $1.50 store in the middle of Irvine, there is probably something wrong with you. I'm half kidding. Yes, some of the stuff in the store is low quality crap, but a lot of it is just plain AWESOME. For example, the Japanese snacks are fun to try, and I recommend the green tea chocolates. Green tea is not a common candy flavor in the US at all and I always jump at the opportunity to try green tea desserts. I've found a few bathroom accessories here that I think are useful and if you put together a few items from the store you can create a gift basket for a special occasion (there's even an aisle for gift wrap and other accessories). Some of the toys, knickknacks, stationery and puzzles have made interesting gifts for children and even adult friends. I've brought people here who had a fun time going through and loading up on items in the store. They have a no return policy unless the item is electronic. If the item is electronic and doesn't work, they let you switch it out. There used to be a customer bathroom, but now it's employees only. If you need to use the bathroom, there's a Mitsuwa supermarket a few stores down with a public bathroom in the food court. No biggie. I've always had a great time shopping here and have been delighted by my findings and the store makes up for any downsides by providing interesting and unique items at a good value. read more

Daiso is pretty much the Japanese version of your usual 99¢ -- except everything (give or take a few) is $1.50. It's stocked with items from home supplies, clothes, to Japanese snacks and Asian beauty products. It pretty much has everything. If you're ever in need of some Asian-esque or just cute stationery products, Daiso has some. Of course things are not as comparable to what you'd find at Target, they have some cute stuff. I bought some of their bowls and plates and they have been in great condition still. I haven't looked through their complete store yet but I've enjoyed what I've been able to see! I tried the charcoal nose strips (like Biore) and they work great! You get a box of 4 for $1.50 which is so much cheaper than buying a box of the Biore nose strips. They also have a lot of Japanese snacks to try if you're into you know, adventurous foreign snacks. Just kidding, they're not too crazy, just different. You can either pay with cash or card, although I believe you need to have a $10 minimum for your purchase if you plan on paying with your card. This place is great! Everything here is $1.50 unless otherwise specified (as many others have stated). I have been able to pick up items to help me learn to crochet, pick up small gifts for family member for the holidays, and even cool new lunchboxes that have separate compartments for your food. They also have a wide array of false eye lashes which has made me oh-so happy! And if you like candies and snacks, they have you covered too! I almost bought a cute little Christmas Tree for my apt (4 feet tall and only $5), but didn't and kind of wished I had. Once you go to checkout, there are two lines: one for cash only and one for debit/credit cards. They do have a $10 minimum for debit transactions, and all purchases are final. I literally spend at least an hour or more going down each aisle as I always come across something I need or want and at what better price such as $1.50 for many Japanese imported goods and others at reasonably marked prices. I generally stick with the Japanese made items over the China made items since I find them of better quality. The only thing that isn't as favorable about this place is that they have 2 separate lines that take credit cards with a minimum of $10, debit cards with no minimum, and of course cash is highly recommended if you come in and have only about 2 items you're picking up since that line is always shorter since who carries much cash nowadays? read more

Love this store! Everything is $1.50 but don't let that fool you. Their selection of items are pretty random -- some are even unnecessary and useless in my opinion -- but it's still nice to browse around. I buy a lot of my kitchen items from here (colander/strainer, plastic containers, sugar/flour ingredient holders, oven mitts) and they are of good quality and very long-lasting. Their chips are not bad, and they even sell instant curry too! Which is pretty good considering it's only $1.50 compared to the $3 Golden Curry brand that you see at grocery stores. Just be careful with what you choose to buy. I once bought a nail clipper here but the handle was designed in a way that made it very difficult to use. Daiso, Daiso, Daiso... How i love thee. You are every college students dream and nightmare at the same time. This is one of those stores that is filled with super cool little gadgets and nick knacks. They have everything from kitchenware, bathroom necessities, arts and crafts, school supplies, beauty stuff, and even a little aisle for pet stuff. Their things are really Japanese-ey and super cute! Their quality is a bit lacking but I always think to myself "deeeeennnng gurllll you got that makeup bag for a buck fiddy?!". You can honestly find anything in here, and the cool thing is that almost everything in the store is $1.50. Anything that is more than $1.50 is marked with a bright colored sticker. The good thing about this store is that almost everything is $1.50; the bad thing about this store is that almost everything is $1.50. I swear it is such a death trap because everything starts to add up slowly and you don't realize how much you're spending till you get to the check out line. One cute strawberry shaped mug, and a lavender scented air freshener later, you find yourself spending $25 bucks on necessarily unnecessary things. This place is a great one-stop shopping store, and is one of my favorite places to spend my free time (what a loser). Even though I find myself "needing" things I don't really need, its super fun to walk in there to see all of the little things they have. Significant other hates coming with me cause i can easily spend an hour just looking at stuff (but I like shopping by myself anyways). I have been to two locations, this Irvine one, and the one on Atlantic in Monterey Park. The one in Monterey Park was made for ants. Their aisles are super tiny and cramped. They have a good supply of paper (origami, notebooks, notepads, journals), containers, baskets, cute kitchen things and most importantly SNACKS! I was so amazed by this store, I've never seen anything like it. Think dollar store but filled with cutesy asian stuff and much better quality. This store just opened a few stores down from Mitsuwa, right next to the Total Women Gym. It was quite a frenzy inside, there were lots of people and the cashier line was a bit long. This store has so many items and some really unique stuff that you'd probably never find anywhere else (like a sparkly star shaped kitchen dish sponge). I spent an hour just going up and down each aisle. The best thing I bought there today was a fork, spoon, and chopstick cutlery set in a cute plastic strawberry case (good for taking it to work). As a teacher, I found this place to be a great resource for storage items, crafts, and just random things you can put together to meet your needs. You can decorate and furnish little things in your entire apt/house for a good price. :: Organization - Really easy way to find things. Also, the added bonus of everything being super cute is worth the extra 50 cents. Very organized and spacious. Easy to find the things your looking for. BIG PROBLEM: You might not need everything you wanna buy. I seriously had 5000 bajiliion things I wanted to purchase in this store and had to keep myself in check. Best store to just get lost in for hours! I went to a Daiso in the bay area and found so many cute little gadgets ranging from school supplies to yummy Japanese snacks. This store is no different. So much to choose from, if you have never been inside, brace yourself to end up running out with nearly half the store! There's so much random things in here, and honestly, you probably won't need everything that you buy, but the stuff is just so cheap and cute, it's hard to resist! The store has an assortment of kitchen supplies, randomly designed plates and bowls (think random cartoon characters on a cup with grammatically incorrect sentences), bento boxes, school supplies, wigs (yep, they carry fake hair too), and even cell phone accessories. And you think that with all this crazy cute stuff, how's one to afford it all? Don't worry, everything here is über cheap; in fact, most of the items are listed as $1.50! Definitely worth taking a trip one day. I LOVE this store!! I see a lot of small, cute Japanese stores but this one is HUGE and everything is $1.50 or if priced marked other wise. The best values here are the kitchen products. I buy their cute dishes and tea cups all the time! Also office supplies are a great value here! The ambiance is cute and I feel like I'm in a giant Cue photo booth. Daiso is a great place for you to blow a few bucks. At just $1.50 per item (unless marked otherwise when items may be $1, $2, or more) it's very difficult to leave without buying things. Whether you need a mechanical pencil, erasers shaped like good, party favors, soup spoons, crackers, or cleaning supplies, they have all kinds of things that you need and even more things that you'll never need. Either way, it's a fun shopping experience. You can bring a kid and tell him/her they can choose anything in the whole store and know that you be out just a couple of bucks at most. I like this store. I love cute little things and this dollar fifty store has so many cute items. There is so much variety! It's different from other dollar stores in that the items here are geared towards what asians may like and find useful. I especially enjoy the kitchen section and the plastic containers and baskets for organizing stuff. Yeah, it's not top notch in quality of course, but you don't always need the best of everything. I mean plastic is plastic. It's functional and cute! I found things that I never thought of that I actually found to be useful. So many pretty things to look at; I just enjoy browsing through the isles and sometimes trying to figure out what some of the items are. I went to Daiso four times since a friend told me about it. The first time it was ok, I liked the variety of products and their prices are really low. But after the second time, I saw that the workers there are not friendly at all! Some of them barely speaks English and they don't make any effort to communicate with you. When I went to the cashier she was really rude, didn't speak in a good volume and with a really poor English. I gave three stars because of the variety and the prices they have, but their customer service is horrible! read more
