The redo of this corner restaurant that has been in Poulsbo forever. It's fresh and light and clean with a nice vibe. We were quickly seated, waited on and received our food fairly short amount of time. The weight staff was friendly and helpful and the food was quite good.

Great service and we loved our food. No reservations and asked to be seated outside which they were able to accommodate. Prices were reasonable. Great menu variety.

Such a peaceful atmosphere and wonderful place to watch the world go by. This would be an excellent place to take a date or spend time with good friends. Located in the downtown area of Poulsbo, WA and just across the parking lot from Liberty Bay, this restaurant is in a very nice area of town and the views from the Tableside windows are good. The server we had was super on top of everything and was very well spoken and attentive. He ensured our meal was perfect in every way. I had a bowl of their seafood chowder which was delicious and enjoyed the pictured Chicken Marsala with extra mushrooms. My co-worker enjoyed the crab cakes and some wine. I have saved this place for a subsequent visit to the area and hope to dine here again soon!

Service was friendly and efficient , everything else was so-so. My party of 8 all agreed that the dishes were just okay - Uninspired, but not "bad" either. The gnocchi and fettuccini were just plain bland. The mushroom and brie appetizer felt a little thrown together. The interior matched the food - it looked like a place just opening up, but not ready to. Parts of the interior looked like there was little effort to create an appealing experience. An industrial fridge out in the open, random equipment and stacks of cups on an impromptu storage area off to the side. It just felt like a place where management didn't know where to put everything, so it was left on display for the customers. The dress of the staff could be a little less informal as well. It seems like just a few changes would make it much more appealing. If some effort were really made to create an attractive environment, and more attention to upscLing the dishes, this place would become a beacon for repeat customers. I look forward to giving it another try next time I'm in town to see if there is some positive change.

Too much olive oil in the bruschetta...

If you're expecting anything similar to its predecessor, That's A Some Italian, you'll be sorely disappointed. Wandered in on a Thursday evening with the husband and our 5 year old for dinner. Was greeted and promptly seated; no complaints on the service. We started off with bruschetta as a starter... it's supposed to be a light appetizer but this bruschetta was just doused in olive oil and my stomach just felt heavy after eating only one of these (there were 5 pieces in an order). My husband compared it to basically a ceviche with balsamic instead of lime and covered in olive oil. Not a good start already but the wine I had was decent to wash the taste out. I had the seafood cakes, husband had the fettuccine Alfredo and our kiddo had the kids pizza with pepperoni. While the cakes tasted okay, it was dry. Sad. My husband's dish though... the pasta didn't even look like fettuccine! Looked like the pasta was home made but the noodles must've fallen apart while cooking... can't believe they even decided to serve that way but we didn't have the time nor energy to send it back. At least our 5 year old enjoyed the pizza; the server was sweet with our kiddo and that was appreciated. We had really high hopes for this place but after this experience, we will not be back.

I'm not sure if we came at a bad time but the service we received was not good. It felt like we were bothering the server just to get drinks. They also actively put out lights for every table EXCEPT ours, and left the picked apart antipasto board when we said we were done, so the table was crowded. We got the antipasto as an app and that was the only good part of our experience. For our mains we did the alfredo and a margherita pizza and we did not like either. The alfredo was actively bad and tasted only like heavy cream. The noodles were falling apart to the point of having to stab them to pick them up. The pizza was pretty bland. Overall very disappointed in the service and food, especially since the interior is so beautiful.

Impossible Cake. Chocolate cake with a flan layer and caramel sauce.

We decided to try the new spot in town for a birthday dinner. A nice addition to Front Street with some kinks to work out, especially in light of the price per diner. We ordered a calamari appetizer, gnocchi and the bistecca. Every dish was VERY tomato heavy. Chopped tomatoes seemed to play a starting role on every plate. Not a problem, per se, except for, because of that, there was little distinction in flavor between any of the dishes. All tomato, all the time. As it was my birthday, we ordered a dessert. Dessert is my love language and The Great British Baking Show is what I watch on the treadmill, so my hopes and standards are high. The only option that evening was the Impossible Cake (D doesn't do coffee so the tiramisu was off the table and bread pudding was not available) a chocolate cake with a layer of flan with caramel sauce. Sadly, the cake was really, really bland and, in the words of TGBBS's Mary Berry, a bit stodgy. Birthday cake is usually my favorite part of the day, not so much this year. The service was just fine and we are hoping that the flavor and texture issues are something that will work out in time.

I'm giving this grocery store/restaurant 5 stars because it merits more than just a 4-star 'Good'…read morerating. If Yelp allowed it I'd give it a 4.5. Our son's been wanting to take us here for a long time and chose this, our first visit, as his wedding anniversary gift to us, his very dear and suffocatingly loving parents. The first thing that struck us were the variety of Italian foods and ingredients for sale in the grocery part of the restaurant. I bought the Garlic Scape Pesto because I've never had that type of pesto sauce so, why not? The staff at the front counter, who also doubled as hosts and wait staff, were very friendly. We arrived early for our reservation and only had a short wait before being seated at our table. We sat in the larger, outdoor section that was inside a tent. Our table offered great views of the outside and of the restaurant interior. I'm not sure why but when our son called in our reservation we had to pre-order our dishes and he had to pay for it then. The benefit of this was that after we were seated our orders came to our table within 10 minutes. We ordered the Vr11 Caesar Salad (which came with lemon-infused croutons!), two wood-fired pizzas and the Eggplant Parmigiana. The Caesar Salad appeared modest but when eating it, the lemon-infused croutons gave it a wow factor. My pizza was the Pizza Calabrese with two types of spicy Calabrian sausage, a Tropea Onion Jam, scarmozza (smoked mozzarella cheese, roast red peppers and grana padano. I didn't really get the smokiness in the cheese nor did the sausage chunks on pizza taste that spicy. But the clear star of the show was that Tropea Onion Jam which WAS spicy because I think 'NDuja sausage was mixed in with it. THERE was the heat I was looking for within a huge burst of flavor. That jam alone made the pizza. Our son loved his Pizza Carbonara ("It was amazing!") with the large dollops of stracciatella cheese with cured egg yolk, and curled guanchiale (pork jowl). This was our first tasting of guanchiale (our son graciously let me sample his pizza) and it was good. It was more like sliced pancetta and it was good. He loved his pizza but I tell ya, mine with that onion jam had already won me over. How much did my wife enjoy her Eggplant Parmigiana (which she also let me sample)? My wife usually doesn't finish her restaurant entrees. She finished this one. Nice marinara sauce flavors mixed with grated Grana Padano cheese and tender sliced grilled eggplant. I didn't pick up any grilled flavor from the eggplant but the dish was delicious. This was our son's second visit and we'd like to return for his third and our second. Both the grocery and restaurant are definite winners.

We were in the covered patio and it was heated, which worked well since it got cooler and rainy within a few minutes of us getting there. Their ambiance is casual and they have servers but you don't end up interacting much with them. We ordered the margherita pizza, the funghi e tartufo, the hot lovers pasta with shrimp (level 3 spice), the spinach ravioli. Everything was delicious. My personal favorite was the mushroom pizza and the hot lovers pasta. The pasta definitely had a kick to it for level 3. The shrimp could have been replaced with alternative meat option because it didn't absorb the sauce like I would have liked it to. The ravioli was done well. The margherita was very tasty. They gave bread with the pasta but it was just super bland and there was no olive oil or butter with it. Overall, decent place to come and get a quick, filling meal. They could work on their table accompaniments more.

We're originally from NY but let me tell you, Nonna Luisa Ristorante beats "the best," most well known Italian restaurants in and around NYC. Hands down. There's no way anyone could possibly leave this place feeling anything other than full, happy, and excited to come back. Like a true Italian family, Nonna's won't let anyone go hungry. We were planning on having dinner here one night but the ferry was late. By the time we pulled up it was already 30 minutes after they closed so we sat in our car parked across the street looking up what other places might still be open. The owner happened to be outside and shouts "Are you hungry?!" They had already cleared out for the night, there weren't people still sitting down eating. But he invited us in anyway. I would've expected our server Carmen to be annoyed because I'm sure she wanted to go home but instead she welcomed us in just like the owner did. We thanked her and apologized but she said "that's what we do here, we take care of people." They even gave us a free desert since we were celebrating a birthday. Come here because you're hungry, come here to celebrate, come here because you don't feel like cooking, come here because it's a random Wednesday... just come here.

We started with the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Cinghiale, which was quite tasty, though the pasta felt a smidge on the drier side. Unfortunately, the Osso Buco ($75) missed the mark immensely. The veal was overdone and notably fatty, and the saffron risotto was very dry; it desperately needed a sauce to pull the components together. At that price point, I expected a much more refined execution. It's a lovely place to sit and the staff are wonderful, but the main courses didn't live up to the premium cost. Edit: I'm surprised by this response. I took the time to highlight what your team does well--the service and the atmosphere were truly lovely. My feedback on the Osso Buco was meant to be constructive, especially given the high price point. It's disappointing that instead of addressing a kitchen consistency issue, the suggestion is simply to eat elsewhere. I'll certainly take that advice.
