This restaurant is two in one. Not only is it a Paella Bar it's also Burrata Bistro. You can choose from entrées or get a bunch of tapas to share! The drink menu was great and everything we had was good. The Ambience is dark and cozy, but it does have a nice outdoor patio area for seating as well. We had a party of 6 which automatically included a 20% gratuity charge. I know some restaurants are doing that. But I did not like was an extra 7% per check on top of that. I didn't like feeling obligated to tip 27%. Our service was good. We did go on a Friday night so we expected it to be busy. A few tapas took a little while to come out. Parking is street parking right off the restaurant. Or there is a parking lot walking distance. Overall the food was good. It's pricey but quality is there. We didn't care for the Cuban sandwich. It wasn't gross just wasn't anything special. I liked the paella. It had calamari, clams, mussels, shrimp, and chicken. All of the tapas are delicious. My husband is a big fan of their coffee. I was SO looking forward to this restaurant for our day trip to Poulsbo during the Memorial Day weekend. We came here for dinner and we were enticed and excited that Burrata Bistro (Italian restaurant) was in the SAME location. 2 in 1 restaurants! You can order from BOTH menus -- the best of both worlds! Cozy Italian and Spanish tapas! WHY I was looking forward to Paella Bar = Paella! I can't remember really having paella except passing by it at markets. This one for the size was around $27 and it is good for 2, max 3 ppl. Most paellas I know are expensive so I was happy with this one! Paul was our server and he was delightful! Patient and with a smile :) we ordered the seafood and chicken paella! There were mussels and maybe Paul was mistaken to let us know they were short. It also came with prawns and squid! Would've loved to see more than 3 prawns but the squid, mussels and chicken blended beautifully with the whole paella. The spice was just right! We also had the foccacia bread! This was made fresh and loved that it had olives and thyme in the bread. We also ordered the burrata caprese salad! Fresh and lovely! Bright juicy cherry and grape tomatoes, with fresh pesto and creamy burrata. We also ordered the roasted mushrooms with goat cheese. It was alright, I thought it would come in a bigger dish but I love mushrooms so it was delicious. Could've used a bit more goat cheese but maybe it was to top it off. Tried this place for the first time on 8-20-25 We sat inside. We each ordered a drink and we both said they were perfect! We decided to order 2 Tapas and then order from the Burrata side We tried the Cod Fritters which were pretty good, and the tortilla with artichokes which was delicious! I ordered the Penne Puttanesca which was very good although I would have liked more anchovy flavor. My wife had the cannelloni which was also very good but she would have preferred it with just béchamel sauce and no red sauce. Regardless, both meals were very good. For dessert, we split the brioche and apricot bread pudding which was yummy! We were only staying in Poulsbo for two nights and on the second night we decided to go back to the same restaurant . This time we each had a drink and they were good, we decided to just order for appetizers and then each get our own dessert. We tried the empanadas, the tortilla with artichoke hearts , brussels sprouts with manchego cheese & the smoked paprika rubbed tenderloin. They were all amazing. My wife tried the tiramisu and I had the chocolate truffle torte We split each and they were good size portions and very tasty . Our servers were very good and attentive . I am a huge consumer of tapas and paellas in multiple cities around the world and this place ranks far in the bottom half. We ordered 3 tapas plates and the seafood paella. Unfortunately, none of them should be experienced twice. Their take on potatoes bravas is like mushy jojo potatoes over marinara and the sautéed shrimp plate were reminiscent of Costco garlic shrimp from the frozen section. The paella was not any better. Seafood was dry and bland. Service was friendly, but it doesn't make up for less than mediocre food. Poulsbo is the next cute touristy town so if you are visiting like we were, spend your money and calories elsewhere. read more

Wow, what an establishment! They are an Italian bistro and a Spanish tapas paella bar combined. Their menu is extensive (with allergen friendly menus available) and there are options for literally any and every taste. We stopped in here to celebrate my birthday and primarily ordered seafood from the tapas menu (we may have ordered every seafood option...). The service was quick, thoughtful and our waitress was so friendly! Every dish had its own flavor and flair and were equally delicious in their own rites. Sorry Yelp, we just don't agree on Paella Bar/Burrata Bistro. As big fans of small and sharable plates, we had high hopes for this restaurant. We ordered several small plates and found all were good, but none were great. The real highlight was the Focaccia bread with olive oil and vinegar. The Raclette was pretty good over well cooked potatoes. The empanadas didn't have much flavor. The cod balls were a bit fishy. The bay shrimp ceviche had an over powering spice of some type. The bummer was the surprise 7% surcharge on the bill. There were three adults in our party, who were all sober. None of us could recall seeing anything posted inside the restaurant or listed on the menu warning of this arbitrary charge. I'm not one to make a scene, so I paid the bill without complaint. After, I did ask the waitress what the surcharge was for. It was explained the owner chose to add the charge during covid to cover additional costs. And that was it.... I wonder how long covid can be used as an excuse to charge higher prices. I wonder why a restaurant does not feel the need to clearly provide notice of these additional charges, especially in a tourist town. Seems a bit shady to me. Live and learn though. We patronized another half dozen food and drink establishments in town after this experience and we were sure to inspect postings, menus and bills for like charges. Fabulous food, ambiance and service! Best restaurant in Kitsap County by far! I love the menu, with so many delicious Italian dishes on one side and tasty tapas & small plates on the other! I've been numerous times and have enjoyed the Calamari Napolitano, Burrata Caprese, I had the Calamari a la Planche on my last visit - so good! My husband and friends always order the Pork Osso Buco or the Long Bone Short Rib - both just fall off the bone & melt in your mouth! Oh, and you must order the focaccia bread! Even has some Mexican food options ( Cubano sandwich and enchilada on tapas menu). - note additional service charge on bill of 7.5% that goes to restaurant, not servers. Owner opted to keep menu, and adjust cost of inflations with the service charge vs reprinting menu with increased prices. Food- good, especially for being in Poulsbo. Lots of variety- Spanish, Italian and a distinct of Mexican options. The food we got was good, like really past home cooking, but not there at being really good. This is not a bad thing, more of setting expectations. - so much variety- what a win! - penne with bolognese was a tad spicy, kids had hard time eating it. I enjoyed it, meat was chunky and tender. - pork osso bucco- $37.50- pork braised for 4 hrs, super tender. Good flavors. Fried potatoe cake was mash potato in a disk form, coated with panko and deep fried. The accompany broccolini and carrots were a bit over fried or roasted, so was bit on oily end. - seafood paella $24.50 yum! - torta de patata with chorizo and spinach $10.95. - brussel sprouts with bacon and manchego &10.95. All good, though my host student from Spain gave an average 7.0 out of 10 for the food and said not quite like home. - Sangria- was solid 2.5-3 stars. As noted by other reviewers - the menu and space has combined with the neighboring Burrata Bistro, so you can order appetizers and entrees from either menu anytime you visit, as they're now a single restaurant. Nice interior ambiance and also a pretty nice covered outdoor seating area (with heat lamps, so it's actually quite nice even on a chilly day); solid/friendly service. Haven't tried a lot off the "Paella Bar" side of the menu appetizer-wise, other than the tortilla de patatas, which was alright; however, we did try their titular dish, specifically the chicken and seafood variant. It was pretty good - portion size was decent, all things considered. It felt a little heavy on the saffron, which, depending on your personal preference may be a good thing. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu, although I've been more impressed by the "Burrata Bistro" side of the menu thus far; all in all, either way you go, it's a nice, comfortable, classy sit-down restaurant experience with a nice variety of dishes. read more

During covid, Paella Bar and Burrata Bistro merged to become one joint restaurant with two kitchens- hence the confusion you might have when looking up the directions on Google Maps. We came on a sunny Saturday during lunch time and there was plenty of available seating. We were surprised with the brightly lit outdoor patio where there were lots of heaters, fireplace, and umbrellas to make sure we were comfortable. Our waitress was soooo nice and so accommodating I wish I got her name but anyways service was above and beyond. Service will never make it or break it for me if the food is good but it sure is a plus. The menu is largely extensive and my mom and I decided to pick the safest options from both kitchens: Burrata and paella! The Burrata Caprese was house made and the tomatoes were refreshingly cold. Seafood paella was flavorful and the mussels and clams had a nice smokiness to it. I would definitely come back here again and want to try the other tapas and Italian dishes. read more

Food, service and ambiance are all outstanding! My friend and I walked in on a Saturday night and got a seat at the bar. Immediately the bartender gave us the food and bar menus. It was not long after that our drink order was taken. I got the red sangria and my friend got the white. We then ordered 3 tapas to serve, mushrooms, tortilla with artichoke and endive salad. It was more than enough food for two. The customer next me asked me about the salad. The candied pecans and blue cheese...highly recommend it! The bartenders were very attentive and friendly. For dessert we got a coffee drink...amazing! The place closed at 9, I failed to realize that so when I noticed patronage was thin I asked. They were in no hurry to rush us out nor did they tell us it was time to leave as there was 5 other patrons at the bar. We were just about on our way out of town before stopping for one more drink at Paella Bar. There was a light drizzle, so we were escorted to "The Alley", a covered dining area 'round the back, with firepits and heat lamps to stave off the chill. Myself sipping an Old Fashioned, and my wife with her Margarita, enjoyed the warmth of the fire while reflecting on another awesome day in Poulsbo. Having dined elsewhere before coming to Paella Bar, we didn't order any food; a mistake we intend to rectify on our next visit. My wife is a seafood connoisseur; myself, usually not so much, but the smells, and sounds of joy and ecstasy coming from the diners at a nearby table, were testament to the quality of the food here. We got a recommendation from the 42 wine bar down the street to eat here. We both love paella and seafood so we came down to try it out. We ordered the clams with chorizo, calamari and seafood and chicken paella. The service was prompt and attentive and the food was delicious. We we're expecting fried calamari, but it came as a sautéed calamari with a red sauce. The clams were amazing and the paella was very good. I was especially impressed that the seafood wasn't rubbery from being overcooked. We sat on their back patio. For late January it was nice to sit outside. They have overhead heaters that we actually had to ask them to turn down. My only complaint was the chairs, they were quite uncomfortable. Tried this place w out of town friends last night. Waitstaff was good and the drinks were wonderful. Ambiance was ok, looked a little worn as tables had gouges in them but was cozy. We got bacon wrapped dates (very good), Brussel sprouts (meh), sardines (meh), and the seafood paella - was ok - kinda felt like the rice part had been there all day and the clams were dry and over cooked. Great wine list. The kicker came when bill arrived with a 7% gratuity for the owners Very shady We asked and it was confirmed that non of that went to kitchen staff or waitstaff We are past the pandemic and won't be back we aren't paying a fee for the owners to do their job. Quite disappointing experience with few hits and many misses. Roasted Mushroom with Goat Cheese- 1/5: mushrooms were overcooked and soupy. A small spoon-full of goat cheese was dissolved in the mushroom soup. Patatas Bravas - 2/5. Potatoes were crispy but the portion was so small. Also the tomato sauce was cold. Anchovies with Fried Artichokes-4/5. This was one of the two decent dishes we had today. Fried Razor Clam -4/5. Another decent one. Baked Oysters - 1/5. Don't order them. The oysters were overcooked in an escargot pan. You cannot cook oysters like escargot. The texture was totally wrong. Pork Osso Buco - 2/5. So salty and hard to eat without bread or something to neutralize the salt. Choppino - 2/5. I don't know why they had to add hollandaise sauce. Totally spoiled the dish. Caramel Ice Cream - 1/5. The server said it was homemade. Seriously? It tasted so awful and we each had one small bite and left all. Not edible. Services - 3/5. It was ok, except that the server cleaned our plates before asking us if we are done (my husband was still eating). She never asked if anything wrong with the ice cream when she saw it was barely touched. Our favorite weekend brunch place, although they operate on siesta hours... only open at 1 pm. Good selection of classic tapa dishes plus many regular entrees sized dishes. My favorites are the paella obviously, the oyster, the cauliflower gratin & the cookies. Great spot at the end of the main drag in Poulsbo. Hubs had an appetizer as his meal, a crostini something or other with a nice spread. I ordered the spare rib appetizer which was disappointingly dry, though the sauce was good, and I had the yummy paella as my main course. It was a little pricey, but the service was good, and the place had a nice ambiance. For a little Norwegian town... Poulsbo has a GREAT Spanish tapas bar. I love being able to try many different things, and Paella Bar is just the type of restaurant for doing that. Came here for Mother's Day with the family; it's a nice place for a special occasion - very intimate and cozy. They serve HH from 1:00 - 5:30 everyday, so we were able to take advantage of it during our visit! - Sangria Pitcher: $25 off the HH menu, it's a great deal! Their sangria is quite fruity so easy to drink... but also easy to over drink haha. - Seafood Paella: Naturally you want to try a place's namesake dish... and Paella Bar really does offer excellent paella. Not only are the rice and seafood SUPER flavorful with that hint of saffron... but it's not DRY. The rice is moist and has soaked up a lot of the tasty broth.They also give a good amount of clams, calamri, and shrimp with the rice. It was also a good portion for sharing among 4 people. - Cheap Dates: Off the HH menu, each serving comes with 2 bacon wrapped dates filled with goat cheese. The bacon is crisp and there's some kind of sweet caramelization from the date. The salty/sweetness keeps the goat cheese from overpowering. - Clams, Chorizo, and Beans: Really tasty small plate off the HH menu. I'm not a fan of beans or clams, but they were quite flavorful in the sauce they came in! - Lumoconi Chipotle Chorizo Mac n Cheese: Off the HH menu, the mac n cheese was quite good - creamy with a slight crisp on top. There's a slight kick from the chipotle mixed in, but it's really not spicy. I also liked the blend of chorizo - Fried Artichoke w/ Sardines: We liked this dish so much that we ordered it twice! The fried artichokes are delicious... but they go REALLY well with the sardines. The sardines aren't too fishy and have a nice sweet, vinegar flavor to them that makes them lip smacking good. There's even a creamy chipotle sauce that goes really well. Even if you're not big on sardines, I'd recommend trying them as this was a tasty combination. - Sea Bass Skewer: Really tasty sauce! Although good, I'm not sure if it warrants the expensive price tag with such a small portion of actual fish. - Bacon Wrapped Mushrooms: I'm convinced anything wrapped with bacon is good, and mushrooms are no exception. Not quite sure what the stuffing was, but it was a tasty small plate that came with a small salad. It's a little pricey for the portions... $7-$15 for each small plate. However, the food here is fantastic that I don't mind paying extra for a good meal (heck it's still cheaper than most tapas bars in Seattle and the Bay Area) I also think their Happy Hour till 5:30 pm is a great deal - since it happens every day, you can even enjoy it on the weekends. The servers here were super friendly at answering our questions and taking our order, and they'd even check before HH was over to make sure we didn't want to order more items off that menu. Like most businesses in Downtown Poulsbo, they don't have dedicated parking so you're left with street parking of the free parking lot in front of the waterfront. It's a short, pleasant walk to get here from the public lot... just be sure to account some extra time if you've made a reservation.
