I met with a friend here. We were originally trying to get a seat at Bianco up the street, but it was full. My friend recommended this place, which was much quieter, which I preferred. We ordered the following: - Burrata Salad - Good. Simple, which is the way it should be. - Gnocchi Tartufo - Good. Again, simple and nicely prepared. - Tonno Ahi - Not good. Salad was fine, but I felt the ahi was neither fresh nor cooked very well. Service was excellent. Friendly, personable and clearly knew we were friends catching up, and appropriately came by only when needed without being intrusive. That was appreciated. Nice dinner, without breaking the bank. I loved the ambience in this place with the lighting and high ceilings. I did see a baby high chair but I heard the bathrooms are tight (tight as in small). We came here for dessert and coffee. I liked the Sask Power water jugs. But then everything came in the same cups. The same water cups must be their go to for....everything? The tiramisu was alright, it definitely came as the top recommendation from the servers, but I didn't feel like it was super special. But the flat white coffee served with the chocolate was quite lovely tasting. I just wish it was in more of a coffee cup. read more

Stopped here at 7PM on a Thursday to kill some time before our 7:30PM show at the Citadel. Staff were more than happy to have us even though we said we were just there for coffee and dessert. Staff were 10/10 really nice. Great booths with wrap around seating so they could fit 6 people easily. Both waiter (who sat us) + waitress (who took our order) recommended the Tiramisu (he also recommended the Mousse, she also recommended the carrot cake). We got the Tiramisu as it was recommended by both. 5/10. Highly disappointed. Not only did it come in the same glass as our water cups (not fancy, very small), it was lacking flavor both coffee and mascarpone, cookie was super soft/soggy. Would not recommend. Latte was also in the SAME water cup. Fun to look at but hot to hold. Tasted fine. Baci chocolate was a nice touch. Overall may try coming back for the food but not the dessert. read more

I liked Zemari's when it was in Commerce Place and I continue to be a fan with the new (really not so new anymore...) location. I was a fan of the crostinis and tried the 4 cheese with bacon added, it was a bready, cheesey, bacony delight. The coffee was very good. Paid parking on the street or parkade. Couple of small things that could improve the experience, of the two taps is the women's washroom, neither seemed to work. We asked for coffee warm up and only one of us got a top up. It's a beautiful location in the heart of downtown with big windows and tons of natural light. A great place to sit and watch the street. read more

Great and consistent food, service. Ambiance is great inside, but we decided to enjoy the patio outside. Our server was friendly and prompt. And kept our water glasses filled even way after we were done eating. We really felt welcomed there. I decided on the duck pasta. It was good and hearty, although next time i am on the patio maybe something lighter would be great. I also like that you can choose between a short pasta or a long one. And they are generous with the cheese. They are generous with the pasta too I took half of it home. Which isn't a bad thing, portions are good here. The beer was was refreshing. Dalla is a beautiful and modern Italian restaurant downtown. They serve delicious pastas but I decided to try one of their panini sandwiches for lunch recently. I was not disappointed & it was a very enjoyable meal. Muffaleta Sandwich $11-it came with an assortment of Italian meats, provolone cheese & olive paste on ciabatta bread. So yummy and full of flavour in each bite. Bread was soft to bite into Della Casa $5-Add on roasted tomato soup with coconut cream, sourdough croutons & fried capers. I'm really glad I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant near my hotel! I was craving Italian food and boy did this place deliver! Ambiance & décor- lovely Music - classic oldies/ pop that I Shazammed & added to my Spotify playlist Service - stellar Price - great Food - Amazing I definitely plan on visiting again the next time I'm in town. And hopefully I'll be able to try their tiramisu before it's sold out next time. The Di ma ma gnocchi was D-lish! But next time, I'll probably order what the menu has to offer instead. My Sister and I were shopping nearby and spotted this beautiful restaurant. (We actually smelled it before we saw it.) It's a busy place at noon, so we were lucky to get a seat. Windows wrap around the building, so there is lots of light. Our server was nice and we didn't have to wait at all. We each had chicken salad sandwiches on focaccia. My sister specified that she had a tomato allergy and yet the bread arrived with sliced tomatoes baked into the bread. It was replaced immediately with apologies. This error could have been really serious. Her Italiana salad was delicious, but VERY heavy on the garlic. I would not eat that on a date. I had the tomato soup. It's always on the menu. One of the best I've had. The soup of the day was Minestrone. We both enjoyed our food. My decaf Americano was the best! We really needed to buy gum after lunch. read more

I loved Zenari's in its previous location so I'm not sure why it took me so long to clue in that this business was run by the same family. I'm so happy to rediscover it. I met up with a group of friends on a Friday evening for dinner before attending a show at the nearby Citadel theatre (tip - make your reservation for for 2 hours before your show starts to ensure you have plenty of time to walk to your show). We chose this restaurant because 3/4 of us have some kind of dietary requirement and their menu catered to all of our needs. I had the risotto spinaci and added beyond sausage. This was some of the best risotto I have had in awhile. It was smooth and creamy with a great cheesy flavour without feeling too heavy. The portions are very generous and I wasn't able to finish my meal but I was very happy to take it to-go for a snack later. The space is very open and bright and volume is the perfect level for conversation. My only issue is that about half the tables are high top which is fine except the seats don't have a proper back to them. I have some minor lower back issues and find chairs like that difficult to sit in for an entire meal without some discomfort. Next time I'll make sure to request a booth when I make a reservation. read more

I've been interested in visiting this restaurant after spotting it from visiting OEB for brunch. This Italian restaurant is located conveniently downtown with a nearby parking garage and street parking. We visited on a Friday evening and had made a reservation. I wasn't sure if the reso was needed, but I'm glad that we had one! The restaurant was packed, and after trying their food, I can see why. I loved the interior of this restaurant. It is open with a modern Mediterranean feel. Their menu has everything you could want in an upscale Italian restaurant but with moderate pricing. I tried the Lasagna Bianca, Rossa salad (beet salad) and the Tiramisu. The Lasagna Bianca absolutely blew me away. It is made with white cream sauce, chicken, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, ricotta and spinach. This was probably the best lasagna that I've ever tried. The portion was generous and I had a nice piece to take back home with me. For $21 this is an absolute deal! The food is fresh and high quality. What I love about this restaurant is that it fills a gap that's lacking in the Italian restaurant scene. Edmonton either has stuffy, low quality Italian restaurants (I won't name names but there's a few) or very high priced upscale Italian restaurants. Dalla is upscale but with affordable pricing. Came here for dinner with my girlfriend and we were not disappointed! Great service, great atmosphere and reasonably priced. We had the sm beet salad to start. The dressing was tasty and had a good zing to it. It was underwhelming though as beet salads go. We then shared the lasagna bianca. This dish is very rich but sooo good. Located right in the core of downtown. Dalla reinvented themselves into a beautiful Italian restaurant. The drink menu is big with lots of great cocktails and wines. I had the Hugo a prosseco cocktail perfect for the heat. The drink was refreshing and delicious. For food I had the vegetable crostini which was decent. The only issue here was the crostini was missing some acidity to break the flavors. Perhaps olives would go very well here. Overall the prices are decent and the quality is very good. read more

I was quite pleased with a visit here recently. The restaurant is beautiful, well-lit, with great art on the wall. The staff were incredibly good at meeting my needs and answering questions. I had a delicious lunch menu option of a great scaccia. Sure it isn't the type of thing I ought to eat every day but as an indulgent meal option it was great! Absolutely fantastic service, atmosphere, drinks and food. I had never been here before and hadn't even heard of it until going with my parents recently and I will most definitely be returning. We were greeted by fantastic and friendly staff that welcomed conversation and created a wonderful environment to begin our dinner service. Our waitress was so nice and very outgoing with her recommendations on food and drinks. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and a fantastic spot for food in the downtown area. We had the focaccia bread and pasta dishes and all of it was delicious. Have had take out from there which was yummy. My first dine in experience was last Friday with a big group that expanded from 10-16 people and we were moving around, sharing stuff etc so kind of a nightmare for the waitress (most of us had worked in the service industry before so we knew....). Our waitress Meredith was great- never forgot a drink, food was fast and delicious and everyone's bill was completely correct- hard to do with that many people.
