It was the first time for us! Warm greetings as soon as we entered the restaurant and great customer service! The staff was friendly and helpful with a big smile! :) We went there because our friends recommended their pizza but we decided to go different direction! The food was delicious and the quality was great. I enjoyed the interior design, especially the light fixture at the bar. Other parts of the restaurant were well designed too and in general it was very cozy. Parking wasn't an issue but I could see it was busy when we left. The Carne pizza was okay overall as it had a good variety and amount of meat but it was slightly too salty. Overhyped overpriced fauxitalian food? In Edmonton? Nah... Here's all you need to know. The pizza is undercooked with poor quality ingredients. Crappy ham piled in to the centre like some guy missing half his fingers was in charge of toppings. Of course the damn pizza is soggy! Wet sandwich meat, huge mushy mushrooms... why are you trying to do Neapolitan-style pizza with Pizza Hut toppings? Burnt leftover remnants of other pizza smeared on the bottom of mine - twice cooked carbon, so tasty. Please clean your pizza oven! The appys are cheap quality (think drizzled with sweet, runny store-bought sauce). We only tried the bacon involunti - served cold with poor quality bbq sauce drizzle on it, tasted like diluted Bulls Eye sauce. Gross. $3.50 at happy hour, not even worth that price. The bathrooms - filthy. 2/5 out of service, the one available I walked in to had water(?) splashed all over the toilet, paper towels everywhere, and it looked like someone had recently emptied a bucket in to the sink. Please, fellow Edmontonians, quit supporting these lousy overpriced food service slop houses! I came here for my birthday lunch and it was sooooo great! Got here at 12:45 and the place was empty so we had our choice of seating. It's a casual dining kind of place, perfect for lunch. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Our water and wine glasses were never empty which was nice! We each ordered one pizza and shared appetizer of arancini (which came with 2 balls) and 2 lobster bites. The pizzas were regular sized and were quite large! I couldn't finish it so I had to take 1/2 of it home. They also went above and beyond for my birthday and gave me a choice of dessert for free!! I opted for the mini donuts which come with 3 different flavours and all were delicious (Nutella, strawberry, and salted caramel). They even came out with a candle on them which was super cute and special. Overall I would definitely come back here again. Buco in Windemere was tasteless and expensive, considering the very low quality of the food. I got veal cannelloni. It was basically cheap pasta with lots of tasteless melted cheese with a tasteless sauce and a little sprinkle of veal. This restaurant also has no green salads. There obviously are no Italians involved in any part of food preparation here; they would be ashamed to serve this food. It is "insapore." Go to Ragazzi Restaurant in Bonnie Doon instead. Went to Buco for the first time this week and really loved it. Our waiter was fantastic! Lots of space for distancing. Clean tables. We ordered the small sharing plate to start - meatball, arancini and bacon involtini. All good. The glaze on the involtini was delicious.. scooped it up with my fork. I had the porchetta.. cooked perfectly. The grilled veggies were my favourite though - love roasted peppers and onion. Husband had a small caesar salad to start and the lasagna. Caesar salad was great. Rated the lasagna a 7/10. Our Caesars were fantastic. One of the best I've ever had. Strong tomato flavour and the right amount of spice. Stopped in for brunch and was so glad we did! It wasn't busy at all, so we were seated right away. We ordered the short rib benny and it was SO GOOD. Crispy pizza crust, a mountain of short rib (you're basically given a pot roast for brunch) and then a delicious creamy hollandaise topped off this hearty portion. The side was a pile of baby potatoes that were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - and they were tossed in a garlic, butter, parmesan concoction that made it ridiculously addictive. Honestly, give me a bowl of just these potatoes and I would be a happy camper. We also ordered the french toast and it was perfect - crispy edges with a fluffy, thick interior. Drizzled in a strawberry sauce and topped with fresh berries and chantilly cream, it was the perfect amount of sweet. Didn't look the prettiest, but it was one of the better french toasts that we've had in a while. So happy we found a new place for brunch - especially one without all the lines! read more

We live in Windermere and we've been wanting to try out Buco for some time. We finally made a reservation yesterday and it was awesome! Fast service and great value for what you get. We opted for the small appetizer combo where you can pick 3 from a variety of items. Our entree portions were on the larger side too so we were so stuffed and satisfied at the end of our meal. It was a mix of citrus flavours and the peach slush made it out of this world. It was almost like a smooth texture like a creamsicle. It was so refreshing! As for the food, this is what I had tonight : ASSAGGINI "little tastes" SMALL CHOOSE THREE 12 - ARANCINI risotto balls, pesto, fontina, aïoli - BEEF SHORT RIB CROQUETTES breaded, gorgonzola, salsa verde - and BUCO'S MEATBALL parmigiano, tomato basil sauce It was a pretty good mix of the balls medley lol not too bad for $12 and good for sharing. CAPRESE tomatoes, fior di latte, olives, basil, spicy sriracha pesto, pistachio, evoo 15.5 This salad was pretty fresh and light. The sauce was different but tasty. We added extra pistachios for that extra crunch PAPPARDELLE wild game ragù, shaved pecorino 22 These noodles were perfect sized and if you're looking for a good ol' Ragu, this is your dish. PORCHETTA slow-roasted alberta pork belly wrapped loin, fennel, coriander, lemon 29.5 Omg this one amazed me, I'm usually wary about pork because you can easily overcook it but this porchetta was made perfectly. What a gem of a place! Visited on a Saturday afternoon for brunch (just before brunch menu ends at 2pm), and spent two hours enjoying delicious food with good company. It's a casual, open concept restaurant. Our server was fantastic, and the food was delicious. I had the short rib eggs benedict, which comes with two poached eggs, a generous portion of delicious short rib meat (hello, protein!) (okay, and fat), served on pizza dough. Accompanied with delicious roasted potatoes, a bowl of melon, and some arugula that could've used even a hint of olive oil. Dessert menu is great, and because we are savages and assumed portions would be typical disappointing dessert sides, the two of us ordered 3 desserts. Word out on the street is that Buco's is a great place for Italian food. I've had both friends & coworkers mention this place to me when it first opened in St. Albert & a year later, a location springs up at EPCOR tower, and then I came across this one in Windermere; so I had to give it a try! It's spacious inside despite how it looks from the outside and it's kid friendly with high chairs. The parking lot & the restaurant both fill up quickly around supper time. Staff are quite nice & good at making recommendations & suggestions in regard to portion size. A lot of things are shareable on the menu. I went for the vegetarian mushroom ravioli with a side of a short rib meatball. Flavours were excellent, and things I normally don't like (fresh tomatoes) complimented the dishes so well that I ate everything and quickly! Service was pretty quick too and well paced without rushing. I didn't have any room to eat dessert, but that is something I now have reason to come back for; maybe with the family in tow too! read more

Lots of parking. Monday bring your own wine night. Tonight was gal pal get together. Sharing allies worked out as portion sizes are relatively large. Full bar and Italian influence menu- amazing taste with any dish. My fav is the Papperdelle but can't go wrong with any dish. If your in the mood for pasta or pizza they have quite the list. Pizzeria and Vino I had a great experience here. They look like they have a decent happy hour. All the staff seemed in a good mood. The dirty deets on the food you may not be able to pronounce them but the pizza with no sauce. Is very good i had the Polloo very tasty gf had some pasty which was also very tasty. Im not definitely not giving them enough credit for the menu, it's good trust me. It's not a super vanilla place to eat tho. Like if you want a plain pizza don't come here. Buco is a lovely restaurant with charm and atmosphere you would expect in a downtown location in the suburbs (great for those of us who don't want to make the trek to places like Whyte or downtown for dinner!). I had a moderately sized dinner party here (eight people total) for my birthday and while I loved the food and atmosphere, our service was dismally non-existent. We got the meat and cheese board to start, and my husband and I shared the pappardelle pasta and the margharita pizza. The pizza was light, with a good chewy crust and good sauce, and the pasta was rich and tasty. We brought home leftovers, which is always a great sign. The food was flavored well and on par with some of the other great Italian restaurants in Edmonton. But, the service. After we got our menus we were sitting and talking for 15 minutes until someone finally went and found our server so we could place our order. Throughout the meal no one checked on us, and after we finished the carafes set out on the table when we arrived, we were all looking around with empty water glasses. After about 2 hours when we wanted to leave, someone again had to go get our server so we could get bills and pay. Three other people in my group commented on how poor the service was and it was a low point in what should have been a great dining experience. The restaurant was largely empty so I can't blame it on understaffing or a busy night. I'm looking forward to giving Buco another chance because I liked it so much, but they really need to do better. read more

I visited this restaurant last night for my birthday and was greatly disappointed given the rave reviews and recommendations I had heard from friends and family. We couldn't stand any of the three dishes we ordered- my pasta and meatballs looked and tasted like something out of a can of Chef Boyardee! The bruschetta was bland and flavorless- just a bunch of tomatoes on a flatbread, no other herbs or even a drizzle of balsamic for flavor! The only good thing I can say about this place is that the tiramisu tasted authentic. The ambience is awful- cheap, tacky plastic chairs make it look like an old fashioned, dilapidated diner. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because of the very friendly and attentive waitress who tried to accommodate us as best as she could as we struggled through our horrible meal. I'm so happy to see a new, vibrant restaurant in this area. The atmosphere is amazing, I love the open kitchen and the selection on the menu is fantastic! We went for a trio of the tasters, sausage, rib and cauliflower and all three were delicious especially the cauliflower. We also got the carne pizza, it was very meaty, the flavours were great! If you're going to this restaurant I would highly recommend making a reservation as it's extremely busy. read more

We are huge fans of Italian fire roasted pizza's. So we were so excited to try this place out. We went in on a Saturday night and sat at the bar for take out. The girl at the bar was extremely nice and the drinks were awesome. We ordered a calabrese I believe, 4-formaggio, and the caprese salad. The pizza's were extremely burnt. We don't mind a little burn on the crust but we didn't eat any of the crust it was black. The flavours of the pizza's themselves were awesome! The caprese salad was probably my least favourite caprese out of any resteraunt. It felt so under flavoured. I would have given them 3 stars due to the centre of the pizza was good but we had to waste over half of our pizza due to the crust was black and basically just fell apart as you held the pizza it was so crisp and the caprese I wouldn't order again. But the atmosphere, the drinks and the staff was awesome so I gave it 4 stars. Next time we'd eat in. read more

Specifically took friends for garlic festival. When I booked the reservation the garlic menu was identical to the rest of Sorrentino's chain. Got there to find out there were only about 3 items being served at this location. No garlic smell in the air. Chicken chowder was a broth, with no flavour let alone garlic as advertised . Same with vegan penne. Staff were wearing aprons advertising garlic festival. False advertising!!!!! Slow service, way overpriced wine, deafening with noise level. Not even close to any of the other Sorrentino's locations!! 16 oz steak that was meant for two came with 8 small potato wedges and a little bit of arugula for $48. We will never return. read more

This location is new and the ambience is great. Love the interior. The food and drinks menu has a lot of choices, which is great and the prices aren't so bad either. We ordered the Pollo pizza and Veal cannelloni; tad bit on the bland side. The ingredients were fresh and the pizza wasn't over-dried which is usually the case with oven baked pizza. The servers were very nice, friendly and professional. We had a server being shadowed by a newbie, who at the end of the night, not only made excellent engaging small talk, but also suggested that we stayed in school and not to do drugs and all of the above! Our server was super pleasant and the atmosphere is fun and warm. But the food is average. My friend enjoyed his calamari and lasagna and the pizza my other friend ordered was very good. Nice wine list. But my veal cannelloni was smothered in a cream and cheese sauce and the tiramisu was a mixture of dry thick whipping cream and hard lady fingers. Nothing soft or creamy about it. Apparently the chef is trying to find the right texture. Sorry to say but he needs to keep working at it. For the money we spent, I expected more. read more
