They could NOT oblige. Huh? OMG... really. Financially, the cost avoidance on omitting toast and potatoes would have offset the labor for separating the yolk from the white. Also, they would have not disappointed a new customer. I sampled the French toast and it was good--nothing special. Ditto on the pancakes and bacon. I mean it was sort of like what our Moms and Dads would make--or if you are the mom or dad--what you would make; albeit the pancake was huge and fluffy. Ok--finally...did the waitstaff come by and ask how are food was...nope. I would have given this place 3 stars but between not checking in on us after leaving the food and not accepting a legitimate dietary-driven request, I am obliged to give it two stars.

Now she flips out and yells "I said 15 minutes, what do you want a job telling me how to run this place?" I've worked pretty much every restaurant job in my youth from busboy to dishwasher to waiter to kitchen prep -- including in the Berkshires -- and would have been immediately fired if I ever went nuclear on a customer over a harmless question. Instead I got breakfast at another -- friendly, family-owned -- Pittsfield diner, had a great quick meal and tipped 30%. Some people get so full of themselves and their drama. You're serving eggs to your neighbors, not working the velvet rope at an exclusive club.
