Well this place definitely needs a major upgrade it's pretty run down inside and out but the food was pretty good nothing really special your typical Chinese buffet options. Very family oriented. Our waiter was amazing very attentive and eager to help and serve us refills. Hopefully this place gets a remake soon because it has potential

    The weird milk marinated corn

I wish I could give this place 0 stars... please don't ever come here The corn was soaked in milk and the fish had a salty white gooey creamy sauce on it that was chunky. The people working kept giving me dirty looks, and one person was half naked working.

Outside is really unkept and needs a solid refreshing from the building owner / property manager.

I'm rounding up from a 2.5 star rating. I haven't been here since COVID hit, so maybe 5 years, and King Sun has gone downhill a lot unfortunately. This was one of my favorites before but now, while I can still eat here and the food was ok, the restaurant itself is just worn and I can't help but think there's something wrong somewhere. Let's just start with the outside. If I was not familiar with this area, I would drive right past this place. It is so rundown - the building is worn, the paint is fading, and the parking lot has weeds everywhere. There are cars parked here, but since it's next to a hotel, you begin to wonder if the cars that are parked are for the restaurant or for the hotel. The windows are blacked out as they have sunshade film on them. The afternoon sun goes straight into the windows. Going to the inside, it is dark. Looking at the ceiling, you see water spots everywhere. They used to have a good luck at the entrance, but unfortunately that's no longer there. Maybe they need to bring it back. We were seated at a window booth, and our drink order is taken. There are food scraps underneath all the tables. They need to vacuum or clean after people eat. Then we went to get our food. The grill that used to be in back is now a noodle bar. The rest of the food area is the same where there are multiple steam areas to keep the food warm. As this is buffet, there's a ton of food sitting out. The freshest food seems to be the dim sum, fish, and chickens. I got crab and shrimp as I like seafood. The shrimp was a little bit overcooked. I think that's because it was sitting out for a bit. Same with the crab. There are some pieces that were just dry. I also got some mussel and fish, both of which were moist and very fresh. A lot of the food items didn't even have signs. They should really do a better job at that. I ate some meat that looked like frogs legs, but they weren't clearly labeled. If you've never seen frog legs before you probably wouldn't even know. That being said, it was really really dry. Chicken was good as was the dim sum and soups. Chow mein and fried rice were good. The staff was wonderful. They came and checked on us frequently, and when we finished using a plate, someone came by to pick it up very quickly. Would I come back? I'm not sure. I have my favorite foods that I can find here, but the preparation is not consistent in my opinion.

A buffet my family go to but decided to go on my own. I was working in the area and just wanted a quick bite to eat. Cheap chinese all you can eat buffet $18.99 per adult. Seafood, sushi, chinese dishes and american. They also have a bbq station, fruit, dessert and best of all, Ice cream machine. Do not expect too much and have an iron stomach. Decent deal.

Tried King Sun Buffet because of the low price, but honestly, you get what you pay for. Everything on the buffet was dry and tasted old. Nothing was fresh, and the texture of most dishes was just unpleasant. Even the desserts were disappointing. Not worth the money, even if it's cheap Service is alright they come clean your table often Ambiance is old

After sitting down, we opted for the premium menu upgrade, and our table really liked the Premium Rib Meat (boneless marinated short rib). Even though it was AYCE and super busy, we always were able to get our food order in and it arrived quickly. If the heat on the charcoal grill was slowing down, they were quick to refill it. We let the staff know our party size and they had us sit in the waiting area while they set up the table. The food was good and quality was not bad. Only downside was that the restaurant ran out of many of the side dishes we tried to order. I can only imagine what side dishes are left if you dine here later in the day. Other than that, the charcoal grill was also pretty smokey from the very moment we sat down. We were luckily enough to have enough seats to not have to sit directly in front of the grill or it would have been worse.

I really like the Misua Soup we start with, had a nice chicken flavor and silky noodles. The main platter had so many fun and delicious items. The Crispy Pata was probably my favorite, so crispy and delicious, especially with the various dips. The Longganisa was another highlight with a cross-sectional cut that enabled a lot of surface area to be nicely charred. The Chicharon was another highlight since it both crispy crunchy skin and some softer meat + fat. The Grilled Liempo had the strongest charred grill taste. Everything else was nice too, just too many to enumerate. For dessert the mixed halo halo with ube ice cream was the best. So many great flavors and textures together at once.

Coincidentally, some of my friends were also thinking of coming here so we made it happen on Sunday evening. We pre-ordered the big duck and shared the rainbow salad, bok choy with morel mushrooms, sweet and sour shrimp and sweet and sour whole fish. The Peking Duck was indeed the best I've had in the Bay Area (it's crispy, rich but somehow not greasy). You get the traditional crepes (as opposed to the Bao in most places) and accompaniments. They also made a great broth with the duck bones that served as an excellent consommé. The rest of the dishes were also good - I would order that shrimp and rainbow salad again for sure. Service was OK and the restaurant looks recently remodeled. There were five of us and we spent about $55 each - an incredible value for the meal. Highly recommended!!!
