Chicken Pies Fillo Spinach & Feta

Loved it. Excellent and very friendly customer service and the food was good. I got couple a spinach and feta on phyllo and chicken pie as well as some taboulé and it was delicious. Definitely coming back and telling my friends about this place.

Found some good things in this Brooklyn Heights bakery. It has lots of Middle Eastern breads and spices to choose from. Damascus Bread & Pastry Shop is one of the many small bakeries in the area. Good place to get some authentic items. The counter display has things like baklava and bulk salads. Came looking for a few items to serve at a get together and got some interesting ones people liked. It's mostly a bakery, so of course there's lots of cakes and pastries. There's the Middle Eastern favorite of baklava, lots of varieties. Also there's things like stuffed grape leaves. Many things good for a party. Also they have this Vegan Turmeric Cake. It's about $5 to get a pretty big size. It was a little dry, the only complaint. This made it very crumbly, but it was good going with coffee or preserves. Every type of Middle Eastern bread at this bakery. It's got pretty okay prices for a family owned place. There's some breads and sweets that are okay for vegans.

Lovely local business with unique pastry offerings as well as lunch options! This is a grab-and-go spot with no seating. My friend and I wandered here looking for a snack to tide our hunger and got the barazek (sesame cookie) and the pistachio knaffa roll. The barazek was great, but the knaffa roll was outstanding. I was afraid that it would be way too sweet due to the spun sugar, but it was balanced out well with the filling inside. In general they have a large selection of popular and unknown pastry items as well as hummus and other dips in the fridges. The prices are very affordable at about $2-3 per pastry. Definitely want to stop by here again to try their spinach pie and other pistachio desserts.

I came here to buy some Syrian desserts for my friend. There are not many Middle Eastern businesses left on Atlantic Ave so it was nice to go to one. I ordered a bunch of popular desserts: walnut baklava, pistachio baklava, almond baklava, bird's nest, and lady finger. I also ordered a spinach and feta pie for myself. You can get it warmed up which was nice. The desserts were very pretty and were not too sweet. The spinach and feta pie was very tasty especially if you get it warmed up. The prices were very good, about $2 per item. Service was very friendly and fast. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area!

Lovely small biz. Purchased spinach pie, falafel n backlava. All delicious. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem. Wish I could get this good food in CA

The man working here was so nice, he gave me my food and assured me that it was excellent and then instructed me to not share it based on the quality. It was only 8.50 for a falafel sandwich and baklava. In Brooklyn. The sandwich was pretty great -- not the most elevated flavors, but all of the ingredients were excellent and tasted fresh.

Just two doors away from Sahadi's is this little Pastry Shop that's been in business since 1930 which I'm surprised that I have failed to notice until today. You will discover a large selection of savory pies and a wide array middle eastern desert pastries. They are all very reasonably priced and of the highest quality.

The pistachio baklava is next level good. I've also tried their kanafe and a chicken pie, both good but the baklava reins supreme to me.

What vegan/vegetarian options do they have?

I saw a sign for a vegan savory pie and for a vegan turmeric cake while I was there. They put signs so you know and they are more than willing to answer any questions!

I had no problem finding parking. They had a few people ordering at the front, and a few people eating in the back. I perused the available cake (and pie) slices and other smaller baked goods, but did not see the Blackout Cake Slice! When I asked the staff, they regretfully informed me that they did not have slices that day, so I went with the next best option... an 8" cake! I didn't get any writing on the cake, as I already had a Happy Birthday candle, and I didn't want to add extra icing to the cake. I liked how well they package the cake. The box was large enough, and they line the bag with a thin piece of cardboard to stabilize the box. I'm not a big sweets person, but I enjoyed the chocolate-y richness of the cake. The cake itself was moist and the pudding held everything together well. I would be back to try their Strawberry Shortcake and other desserts.
