This was the worst consumer experience of my entire lifetime. Make no mistakes about this, this is your typical seedy old school type car dealership. First warning sign....when I went in to try to make a deal, Dale (the Internet Sales Manager) took my keys to get an appraisal on my trade in.......AND WOULDN'T GIVE THEM BACK!!!!!!! I asked for them three times, and told him I needed to go over to talk over the deal he presented with my boyfriend at least 7 times, and he never gave me my keys back. Issue number two....they sold me the car at a price that was $3000 over the internet price, and the internet is how I found them. This one may have been slightly my fault, my phone was dead and I couldn't pull up the internet price. But this also goes back to #1, I wanted to go home and research but when I asked for my keys they were never delivered. Issue number three....they chose not to honor the legally binding contract they entered. This is where it got nasty. Even after 1 & 2 I signed the contract, because on paper it was a good deal. Now, this wasn't a tentative agreement, I signed a sales contract and had the registration sent to the DMV (I still have the vehicle registration but not the car!). Two days after I drove off the lot with the car and my registration they called me and told me they were no longer interested in the deal and that I needed to bring the car back? WHAT!!!!! Now, I heard of financing falling threw, but that wasn't the case here. I signed a sales contract with Damerow Ford, which they intended to sell to another finance company. My contract with them wasn't contingent on them selling the contract afterwards. This is when issue number four came into play. #4..........Brian, the General Sales Manager. What a tool. He was very rude, and said things to me that were simply untrue. He quoted laws that were real laws. He was derogatory and condescending. So much so that I had to have a family friend (an attorney that was not representing me) call him back. But don't just take my word for it, I recorded every call we had. I've played them for others and another attorney I consulted. Everyone else confirmed he was vile and unprofessional, and the attorney confirmed all of things he was saying weren't true. The consumer affairs also reviewed the contract and told me that it was definitely legally binding and enforceable. He also provided me an e-mail on how to rebut all of the lies he was telling. And 5 is the end.............I ended up returning the car. Brian threatened to tow it even though he had no legal reason to as I had DMV registration, and a legally binding contract that I didn't violate. He threatened to charge me outlandish "rental" fees claiming he had a legal right even though I never signed anything agreeing to those fees. In the end, I was sure I had a battle I could win, but the attorney I consulted told me legal fees would run in the 5 figures and the arbitration would drag out for months. I also applied for a loan with my credit union during this time and I was approved so I thought it best to take my business elsewhere. In conclusion, STAY AWAY!!!!! Do not bring your business here. If you absolutely must please reach out to me! You owe it to yourself to hear the way Brian Ronstadt spoke to me. I'll gladly provide the audio to anyone considering this dealership, as well as the notes and e-mails from the consumer affairs attorney I worked with. But save yourself the trouble and stay away. We were very disappointed with our experience at Damerow Ford. We were upfront from the beginning: "we receive employee pricing (so there is no negotiation) and we're not buying today." Despite the preface, we received aggressive, pushy service throughout our visit. Even though we are entitled to a great price without any hassle, the experience we had that day will keep us from buying a Ford for a while. Here's our story: A friendly, eager young man greeted us and we went for a test drive. As we drove, we asked him questions and most answers were "I don't know". It was only his 4th day and we knew more about the cars than he did. They lost points for professionalism and credibility by allowing the new guy to help us when it was clear that he wasn't ready to sell cars. Because this employee didn't know about the discount pricing, we were passed over to another employee. He was more helpful in getting us some pricing information and telling us more about the cars. This was the only positive part of our experience. Once we received some information to help us make a decision, we said that we would think about it and likely come back and buy the car. The salesperson told us that his manager had to come in before we left and try to get us to buy the car right then. I found that odd. Still, we were polite, but firm that we would come back to purchase the vehicle another time. On our way out, the general manager (with a mouth full of tobacco chew) physically blocked us from the exit, and offered more incentives beyond the discount pricing to force us to buy the car that day. That is when we got irritated. I left uncomfortable and frustrated with their aggressive, pushy tactics. It was extremely unprofessional. I will not be returning to buy a vehicle at this dealership and would not recommend my friends to do so. We arrived to the lot three hours after the ad had been posted and the team of salesman couldn't locate the advertised car and the Internet sales manager wasn't available. After re-checking the online posting, we discovered the dealership had posted the same car, every two days for the last month. Funny that not one of the sales staff had any knowledge of this car. Bought my Ford focus 2014 from them and its clutch started making noises and missing gears (automatic transmission) close to 2000 miles in. I went to them multiple times to complain about it and ask them to repair it but first they refused to acknowledge the problem and then the third time their transmission guy was on leave even though I have made an appointment for this. He was gone for two weeks apparently. Frustrated I contacted dick MacKenzie Ford and took the car to them. Extremely courteous service and they mentioned that this is a known issue and Ford will replace it. Took my car for a few hours to test and send the report to ford. Next day the part was there and replaced with the car now in perfect shape. Damerow had no reason to do this since the car was still in warranty but I'm definitely not going there again or recommending them. Service drives repeat sales not pricing. read more

Update! Thought it couldn't get worse...WRONG! This dealer has the worst customer service I have ever seen at a car dealer and that is saying a lot. - You are making mountains out of mole hills. - This isn't a real issue it is just cosmetic. - Just don't adjust your mirror. - We can't do anything more so just take it and like it as is. These are just a few things said to me in the 3 hours I was there today to pick up my "fixed" car. The service department brought in a third party to fix my problem and when I pointed out the problem had not been fully fixed they basically put a band-aid over it. This was a warranty issue, so they were not getting a penny from me and I think this was why they could have cared less. It didn't help that I am a young woman so they probably figured they could treat me like crap, which they did. Feel free to contact me if you are thinking about going here and I will make sure to give a 100 different places that will treat you better. Only 1 finance person supposedly on this particular day as well, which was on a weekend and probably the busiest time to buy. Zero pressure! **Shopping for a sub-compact or compact vehicle** Yesterday was our first visit to Damerow Ford. We got an Internet price & called ahead to make an appointment. When we arrived Dale was outside to greet us. He introduced us to Dan who took us out to look at the cars. Dan was knowledgeable without being . He was not pushy. He didn't ask us about financing or trading in our vehicle. He just focused on us finding the car that's best for us. We drove 2 cars and left without talking about numbers, financing or trade-in prices. Today was my second visit to Damerow Ford. I wanted to drive one more car to help make a decision. I called ahead to see if it was a good time to come by. When I arrived they had already pulled the car out for me and parked it by the front door. Took the car out, had a great experience with Dale. He shared some tidbits and didn't talk too much, he asked if I had questions and let me talk. We still did not talk about financing or prices. He did ask if we were going to trade in a car, and offered to give us a price for our car if we were interested - seriously zero pressure to trade in our car or to buy a car. Again I left without a trade in estimate and without purchasing a car. Side notes: Now we've been to 5 dealerships - salesmen have taken personal phone calls during the test drive (without saying "do you mind if I take this?"). They've told me "I'm a know-it-all", they've trash talked other cars and dealerships. Had a sales person flat out lie to me about the options in the car, it only comes in leather seats & black exterior paint - what, seriously? Haha I didn't write reviews about these guys, just wanted to highlight the best. April follow-up: We placed an order for a car, but due to the weather on the east coast the order was delayed from 2 months to about 4 months. Dale tried to get a car from another lot, but they were not willing to do a dealer to dealer trade. And we were not willing to support the dealership that lied to me. On 4/18/15 I went in for a third visit - We worked with Erik, another amazing sales person at Damerow! When we left the lot for the test drive he asked if I was familiar with the area, I said yes and he said okay go for it. He asked a couple questions during the drive to see how familiar we were with the model and just sat back for the ride. We realized the car didn't have the moonroof we wanted and they said no problem we'll have it factory installed and it'll be covered under the factory warranty - great! Our first offer we received was a great price, no haggling necessary. Dale had already found all the Ford offers/rebates for us. The easiest new car buying experience we've ever had. Took my car in for a recall for it's canister purge valve. Arrived at 8am for my scheduled appointment. 6 hours later I had heard nothing from the dealer so I contacted them via the courtesy text number they gave me at the start of the appointment. 2 minutes after I contact them my car was miraculously ready for pick up. When I arrived the mechanic told me nothing more than it was ready and directed me to the checkout location. At check out I looked at the paperwork to decipher what had been done - turns out it was only an inspection, the device was not faulty and the CPV did not need replaced. I am happy it did not need replaced, but given I had an appointment and no parts were worked on, this should not have taken 6 hours. Clearly the vehicle had been ready and they just never informed me. I also would have appreciated the mechanic telling me the part was not replaced at the time I picked up the car, instead of me having to ask the cashier what work was done. I have since chosen a new local mechanic for the additional maintenance I have needed, given the lack of communication from this dealer. Of note, they get a few starts because Damerow did provide a free shuttle back to my house to wait while they took care of the recall which was nice (and necessary, considering how long it took). read more

So I finish off the payments, the 75k warranty expires, and the transmission goes out on it at 87k miles! No prior transmission probs or issues, car has been reliable. You have other options.... DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!! After car shopping online, and in person at multiple dealerships. My significant other and I saw a vehicle that we liked from Damerow Ford. I email their online Sales department to get information on the vehicle. A gentlemen named Kevin Shaw replied to my inquiry, His tittle says "Internet Sales Manager". After a few emails I decided to offer him $20k for the vehicle (they wanted $20,9XX). He replied with "That offer sounds reasonable!!! The next step is to have you come in", under my impression that we had agreed upon a deal I decided to come in with my significant other. Once at the dealer, Kevin as "busy", so we were passed over to Larry. We test drove the vehicle, we loved it, we went in inside to talk payments and what not. I let the sales person know (and showed him the email) that we agreed on 20k & we were going to finance through our CREDIT UNION. They did the square gimmick that they always do ... we filled out consent for pulling our credit, and only after pulling our credit did they told us that they were not going to honor the offer. Being upset I asked for the manager (a different manager, piece of sh*t Kevin never came out). We argued about the price for a while. Long story short we settled for $20,500. Finished up at the dealership, took the car home and called it a night. 2 days later we get a phone call from Wells Fargo saying they had received our loan and had a few questions.IDIOTS at Damerow Ford financed us through Wells Fargo after clearly stating that the financing would be happening through our credit union. They did NOT mention the word Wells Fargo at any point. Will never do business with them again. read more

Don't get your car serviced here unless you like spammy phone calls. I brought my car in for scheduled maintenance. A week or so later, i got a robocall thanking me for getting my service done there. A few weeks after that, i started getting missed calls (no voicemail left) from an 866 number. I finally actually managed to answer one of the calls, and it was a survey company asking about my experience with Damerow. Now i'm getting missed calls from another 866 number, which the google tells me is yet another survey company used by car dealerships. Then, of course, there's the fact that during the course of doing the maintenance, they ran my battery dry, then had the audacity to suggest i pay them to replace it. I guess i should count my blessings that they didn't charge me anything for the jump-start. read more

Ugh. After an extremely unpleasant sales experience six months ago in November, we just discovered that the A/C on the used Toyota Sienna we bought from them is broken. Last week we called Damerow to see if that is covered by or warranty. They said that if it's a hardware issue, yes it will covered. We independently assessed that the A/C compressor was not spinning, so it was a hardware failure and not just in need of an A/C recharge. Today my wife drove out to Beaverton to have them fix it. It took them about an hour to find our Service Agreement before they would look at it. Then, after about 3 more hours, they diagnosed that there is an A/C leak, but they can't find the source of the leak -- and then they said it's not covered by our warranty, anyway, which is limited to the Powertrain. Damerow Ford told us to call Toyota. It wasn't their problem to fix the broken A/C on a $13k car they sold us 6 months ago. Great service, or what? read more

I showed up there and told the guy from the start all I want to do is a test drive, I'm gathering information, and I am NOT ready to buy today. So we went for a test drive, and I really liked the car I drove, and I'm going to buy one, but in a few months when I'm ready. So when we got back to the dealership, we went inside so he could "get me a sales brochure." then his boss came out and started with the 4-square offer sheet garbage. This was not totally unexpected, in fact I'm not surprised. I've heard that salespeople and get fired if they let a customer walk without having them talk to a manager. So I played the game for about 10 minutes. His boss made all sorts of desperate, impossible "what if" promises. Man, were they hungry to have me fill out some paperwork. I just sat back, listened, and said "no" over and over, and the promises got more and more outlandish. Thank God my family started texting me, so I held up my phone and said I have to go now. But wait! We're not done yet! As I was heading for the door, manager #1 ducked into the little sales office and out comes manager #2. I wouldn't go back to the little table. Finally, I managed to get out of there. Boy do you pay for a test drive at Damerow! It's too bad, because they are a huge lot with a large selection. But, after that experience, I compared it to Westlie Ford in Camas; they took me on a test drive and I only had to tell them once that I will be ready in a few months, I'm just gathering information today. Larry The Ford Guy and Connie with her new 2017 Ford Explorer. Larry was a great salesman. He listened to us and answered all of our questions. He didn't overly pressure us and he understood that we did our homework and knew what we wanted. The Sales Manager Kiyoshi was also very reasonable to work with. We arrived at 11:40am, drove two different cars and sat down to start the purchase process at 2:45pm. There were some hoops to listen to, but at 5:00pm we were at the finance manager's desk and we were on our way home at 5:45pm. My advice to anyone buying a new car is to study the market and test drive several cars with several dealers. The variables in buying a car are endless and designed to overwhelm you. Decide what options you really must have before you go and don't pay more for things you don't really want. Most importantly check all the math, read all the documents and make sure you understand what you are buying. Overall, we had a very good experience at Damerow Ford and recommend that you call Larry when you are interested in a Ford. read more

We stopped into Damerow looking for a used Ford F-150. Damerow had many to choose from. But the best part of our experience was our salesman, Brian Keenan. Not only did Brian help us find the exact truck we were looking for, but he worked out a great financial deal. He was so great - we ended up buying 2 cars that day. Brian worked diligently to get us the deals that worked for us and made sure we were happy with our purchases. Because we were not planning on buying 2 cars - Brian even drove one of the cars home to Salem for us so he could pick up our 2nd trade-in and we wouldn't have to make an extra trip back to the lot! So his sales man says one number first much higher then the publish one ,the finance agent throws other numbers and afterwards the GENERAL MANAGER KIYOSHI TSUJI tells me a different figure. Beware the sales dept.! They tried everything to get me to sign on the spot. They exaggerated my trade in value so high it was ridiculous! $16K on a 2002 Dodge Ram. Full blown retail was only about $10K. This was the first place I went (not knowing) to test drive a truck. Even after I explained I wanted to test drive a Dodge and GM product, they kept pushing for their sales. Two (2) Managers were also sent to speak w/ me. I also had a special incentive from my employer that allows me to buy a new vehicle at a set price. They said they didn't need the paperwork, as they could beat the price. It was all lies. Long story short, I finally got out of there, test drove a new GM and Dodge. Decided on a Ford, then contacted MacKenzie Ford. Both Dodge and MacKenzie honored my employee discount. I am so disappointed in the dealership. We stopped by about two months ago to test drive a Maverick. They are in high demand and short supply. I get it. So we decided not to purchase the one they had on the lot with $7,500 markup. Instead we put $500 down for the privilege of placing an order ***at MSRP*** when Ford opens the ordering cycle. No contact from them at any point, we had to learn that Ford had opened the order bank from another dealership. We go in to see our sales person to place the order, no greetings, no hello, just "sit here and I will be with you". Comes back after 15 minutes with the core message that "The dealership has decided to add $5,000 markup to all Maverick orders, if you don't like it walk away!" They wasted 2 months of our time. We drove 20 minutes to Landmark Ford where Mick Corliss was able to process our order at MSRP. That is $5K for a 20-minute drive! An hourly rate of $15K. We've had it serviced at Damerow and have been pleased with their assistance keeping our big guy up on all aspects of maintenance. Last year I nabbed a Transit Connect from Damerow. I got an ok deal, nothing I would brag about, but the vans were in pretty high demand, they had the colors and options I wanted, so it worked out for everyone. Unfortunately, about 4000 miles and 7 months into ownership the windows and locks stopped working. Fortunately the windows were up at the time, or the problem would have been far worse. I was given a loaner while my van was in for service, but it took nearly a month to get my nearly-brand-new van back. The van is back in my hands now, all seems fine. Don't waste your money at Damerow. They don't care about their customers. I came here because my friend was promised a $100 referral bonus for the 1st friend she referred. Damerow did not bother to mail her the $100 bonus. She had to pick it up personally. They somehow inflated the BlueBook value a few thousand higher -- maybe because my G35 had navigation system and all the add-ons. He claimed it was a collectible car. Wrong! Big disagreement that "Cash is same as credit." Well, cash is a LOT less paperwork, but I suppose Ford gets their money within a week while the bank would process payments for 5-7 years. Sales Manager Kiroshi accepted $14,500 (down from the asking price of $14,999) and we shook hands. Within 8-10 mins, the price was $14,972! He seemed to add taxes, license fees AFTER our agreement. I emailed him same day that the passenger window failed AFTER his service team had done their "full inspection." He offered a free tank of gas (a 40-minute commute for me). He exclaimed that there was NOTHING he could do since I had already left the dealer. read more

So we traded in our Toyota and they gave us less than a fair price. But we just wanted to get the heck out of there show room.So when I got home I immediately called them back, emailed them, and left messages stating this is not the truck for us. Came back the very next morning and YOSKI the lead finance manager WAS THE BIGGEST ASSHOLE i have ever met at a car dealer. He was not willing to do anything for us. Not willing to budge. Horrible customer service. After spending many more hours in the show room. I could hear him talking with several other customers. He was again rude, careless and not understanding. If you're afraid of getting ripped off, this is the place for you. They will sell you a warranty, and it turns out you can only use it with their dealers. If something goes wrong with your car, they will charge you to even look at it, and insist there is nothing wrong until your warranty runs out. They told me repeatedly my clutch is fine and yet here we are, paying $1400 to some other guys for an ongoing clutch issue. My salesmen agreed to put Ford dealer original manufacturer power locks and power windows into a completely manual car for me in order to get me to sign for it. Weeks after my purchase, I called repeatedly and was turned away. It turns out they were avoiding my calls because they lied and did not have the resources to put these in. Adding them free of charge was part of the deal, and they attempted to go back on it by offering me 2k back, a price that would not have covered this addition to my car. I refused to take the money, and they got the locks and windows put in by a third party. It is pretty much the cheapest looking thing you can pay for. They didn't bother to replace my interior panels, just put hideous hockey pucks over the existing window crank holes. the control panel to work my windows, sweat to god, is a massive 6x6 plate on my driver door. This was my first time buying a used car. I went to a big-name Ford dealer in order to avoid getting ripped off by a smaller dealer. I went here the first time that I was purchasing a car from a dealership on my own a couple years ago. I had a good experience. let me test drive cars, and the one I was interested in ended up being something I really didn't think I wanted! The salesman had just started a few days prior I guess. We went on a nice long test drive. I brought my mom with me, and the salesman was super nice as was his boss. This ended up being the first sale he made in his employment there. As a younger person recently out of college and without much credit, they were great at helping me find reasonable financing with not much down. Important as a first-time car buyer.
