Damian is amazing! I got his name from a friend who has a Jeep Cherokee and is tight on cash. Every now and then he calls Damian with question and he's happy to help. Me, I try to do things on my own as well but being new to Jeeps(had to finally get a Wrangler), I get over my head or just don't have time now that I own a business. Even though I tell him that price isn't my first issue, I just want it done well, he asks me what I would like to spend and will continually give me text message(or email) updates when he runs into issues or corners that he can cut. Well i had an 96 jeep zj it was a daily driver for me and a biggest piece of junk that i could had at that time, anyway now got a newer WJ and as an always i need servicing, that's where it comes to Damian. Well first of all his patience is enormous, second he has a lot of knowledge but not only about the cars about anything, you need 4x4 trails ask him, you dont drive jeep its ok ask him, you dont know nothing about the cars its fine, he is straight honest and tells you right away you need this asap but this is fine, dont spent your money on things that you dont need, he is always for a nice talk and always positive about everything and just makes you feel good and here in LA where all other mechanics are just "parts changers" no he actually knows how to fix stuff how to build something from scratch how to design something that needs to fit on specific place....i mean i can go like this for days if you have a car that has a problem take it to him and don't worry about it. Damian is a dream to work with. I had an emergency problem that I couldn't fix with a very rare vehicle. Most mechanics turn away from a challenge like this but Damian took it in with open arms. He even enlisted his contacts in Australia to help source the parts, drive several hours to get there, take the parts out of a donor car and ship them to his shop in LA! It was a logistical nightmare but Damian made it happen and the truck is driving great now. He kept me up to date with progress, provided out of the box solutions and spotted other repairs that needed to be made. He is honest with the work and his prices are more than fair. In the land of Snake Charmers, Opportunists and Predators also known as the World of Auto Repair, Damian stood alone and to the side. I have never actually met Damian. A buddy recommended him, after I self diagnosed a worn out timing belt problem on my 2000 Kona Focus with over 200k miles on the clock. The car having an interference motor, chances were that the valves were bent, though the mishap occurred at street speed. I have worked on my cars in the past, and have done some major engine work on cars before., so... not a stranger to things mechanical. Bent valves would have sent the car to the La La land, to the sound of clapping of a few pair hands, despite the rest of it being in arguably great shape. It being my work commuter car with almost a 100 miles a day round trip, I wanted to keep the Ol' Faithful if I could. Damien gave me an over the phone estimate, and said there's a good chance it could be saved. I had the car towed there. A few text updates back and forth with Damian, my buddy picks the car up, since he works next door, and drops it off at my house. The car runs great . I've heard that the two people in your life that you need to be the most honest are your dentist and your mechanic. I happen to be a dentist, so I've got that covered and now that I've found Damian I'm set on that front too. I've seen Damian twice now for random repairs and I can honestly say that I've never met a cooler, honest mechanic in my life. This guy is the best! He has a cool shop, great attitude and lots of experience. First time I met Damian was after I left the Jeep dealership with a quote of $1200 for a relatively small repair. I knew what needed to be done but didn't have the time or experience to do it myself. All I knew is that the dealership was trying to rip me off. So I went to Damian and didn't say anything. He correctly diagnosed and fixed the problem for about $300. My car just recently needed a repair again. AAA was trying to tow it to some nearby garage and I told them "no way". I had them tow it all the way to Damian's garage because he's the only one I trust with my auto repair. Seriously cannot say enough good things about Damian. I brought him a Jeep which is purchased from an out of state dealer who "restores" XJ's and is supposed to make them showroom ready. Well, the thing didn't get off the d*mn shipping truck before over heating, smoking, the whole 9 yards. I hadn't owned a Jeep in over 15 years and was in need of a new mechanic. After seeing Damian's name pop up in Forum after Forum, coupled with his reviews here, I brought her in and I'm glad to report, he has all but saved my XJ from the nightmare of "send it back" litigation with the awful Virginia based dealer, and/or from the slow roll off a steep mountain. I'll post pics later, but he really knows all things off-roading, Jeep or otherwise. On my Cherokee, we had tons of necessary under the hood fixes, then came the fun stuff like adding rock sliders, reinforcing the frame, adding a long range gas tank with skid plate, not to mention his insight and assistance with little off-roading rig nuances/details that would've been lost on me as a beginner. I can't say enough about his expertise, fairness, attention to detail, pride in his work, and overall conscientious way he goes about his business. He's really the only guy to go to if you want fair prices, good peeps, a cool/low key shop, and someone you can trust.
