Damon's has a gorgeous view. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced & the food is not spectacular but good. I know they are know for their ribs but I haven't had them yet. I do want to try their happy hour someday too. Whenever I have friends in town I take them to Damon's. read more

Well... sorry for the 2. The service was very good and as I could see so was all the tables around me. The 2 is for the ribs specifically. They were quite fatty (wife had them also..same thing) they had very very little smoke flavor and the sauce had no real distinct flavor at all. I cant explain the difference between my view and other reviews on here. Sorry... the crab cakes were ok. The clam chowder was... kinda ok.. she thought it had cream of chicken in it... I didnt think so. The muffins that came with dinner were quite good. Nice view of ocean. I am sure they have some dish that is great. It is just not the ribs. I am no expert, I have smokes them for years!, and had ribs all over. Let's put it this way. Chilis rinse are much better, and I wouldn't go there if I wanted ribs. Great view great service. First, thank you to Damons for offering a free birthday dinner (and little dessert) to anyone celebrating their special day. That was a wonderful treat, especially since my mother and I share a birthday, and we each got our dinner entrees for free. Our waitress Amber was very pleasant, and the sweet potato casserole was delicious. However, I do want to share 2 negatives: 1. you can only order a filet IF it is part of a combo meal (with ribs) as the filet does not appear elsewhere on the menu. As a filet lover, I ordered this combo, with my steak ordered cooked medium. It was delivered rare. I sent it back and started to eat the ribs, which are not a personal favorite, but at least that way I could start eating dinner with my family. 2. After several minutes, my filet was returned to me visibly steaming, and it had obviously been nuked. WHO NUKES A STEAK, especially that cut of a steak? Had my meal not been free, I obviously would have complained. Overall, it was not the worst experience, not the best experience, but the one thing I looked forward to the most was ruined by an obvious misstep by someone in the kitchen. read more

HORRENDOUS!!! We waited over 45 minutes for any service once seated...our appetizers arrived at the same time as our entrees. When everything did arrive it was cold. Not just cold but literally still partially frozen. The crab cakes smelled rotten and were literally inedible. We waited another 30 minutes for our bill, soup, and boxes (soup arrived partially frozen as well). Meanwhile we never received drinks until we were leaving. Absolutely do not recommend! Our poor waiter tried his best but the food was so horrible it was by far the worst restaurant experience we've had in this town. read more

We went for dinner and the food was terrible. Ribs came out ice cold and my chicken was rubber and I could barely cut through it.

Randy and I were at the beach for a volleyball tournament and called former longtime neighbors, who moved to the beach, to go out to dinner. Since they are now "locals" we asked them to pick. They chose Damon's Grill, which is right on the water. There so a choice of outside eating overlooking the ocean or comfortable tables or booths inside. Our friends have had heart issues so it was important to have healthy choices for them, which Damon's does. I had the special, which was Snapper cooked to perfection. My husband had the fried shrimp and said it was delicious. Our friends had their favorites: grilled chicken and chicken Alfredo. There was no feeling of rush so we had a leisurely dinner with great conversation. We will be back. read more

The waitress was a 10!! She was absolutely amazing. She's working here and goes to college at Clark Atlanta. She gave us the best service ever. The She Crab soup was delicious. The Barbecue Ribs just fell off the bones and were so good. The apple pie was so yummy even though we got it to go and all the icecream melted. We loved the atmosphere right on the water. Full Disclosure: We came here because it was my birthday and I'm all about a free meal. But I would have enjoyed it even if it had not been. Asked for an outside table and we were told it might be a 30 minute wait. Was only 10 minutes. The view was amazing, hang on for outdoor seating if you can! Definitely a tourist attraction. Although the waitress and staff were fantastic. The food was seriously lacking appeal and taste. The dry blueberry mini muffins they treat you with are a nice gesture. But cornbread are a roll may be a better pairing with everything or anything on the menu. Green beans were good. Glazed carrots were not even close to what a glazed carrot should be. My wife had the fish which she enjoyed. The atmosphere is pleasant. I especially like the way the way they picked the gray ceiling tiles to better hide the filthy ceiling. It's a good thing this a tourist town and this place is surrounded by resorts. Ordered prime rib with Caesar salad. Ordered medium rare. The meat was tough, not flavorful, and not soft to chew. Caesar salad was horrible. It was drowning in dressing. Great first night in MyrtleBeach and our dinner at Damon's Grill topped it off. First off we lucked out and found a parking space right in front. Secondly as we are hanging at the bar after putting our name in and being told it would be 35 to 40 minutes our buzzer goes off after 15 minutes and they sit us on the outdoor patio..... Sweet! Our waiter; Brett was great! Our meals were also great. I had prime rib and a nice baked potato which was very tasty. My wife had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo which she also enjoyed. Delicious as always! My family and I visited Damon's around 5pm on a Friday evening for my birthday dinner. They weren't too busy and much to our surprise we didn't have a wait. The tables were perfectly spaced out. As an added bonus you get a free meal and dessert on your birthday! Service was wonderful, food was amazing, and view was phenomenal!! Always tried to go in the evening but the wait line was ridiculous . Went at lunch no wait line. Had the full rack if babyback ribs. It came out cut in 3 pieces. Only thing the 3 pieces were not from 1 rack had 2 chunks of the end cut short bone ribs and 1 section of med length. The 2 pieces of the end cut were fairly dry and tough the other piece was good. Told the waitress to tell the cook I knew what he did. I will try one more time but will ask for a full rack in one piece. Beautiful view of the ocean. read more

Ok I slept on this review so I wouldn't let emotions guild it......Have been eating at Damon's for years when at the beach.....last night I went for dinner knowing that it would be packed so I sat at the bar......20 minutes and no one spoke to me at all.....I was finally ask what I wanted to drink....10 min later I got my tea. At about this time a homeless gentleman pushed his way to the bar and started screaming for service... That had him a drink and salad before my drink arrived....my order was finally taken.....45 minutes after walking in.....homeless guy now has his dinner and is still being loud and rude.......after a apology from the manager about my order being not being put in I get my dinner 1.5 hrs after sitting down.....dinner was good as Damon's had always been but the service was pitiful....and the homeless guy naked in the bathroom washing off was not what I wanted to walk in on...... read more

Waitress kicked my entire family 16 of us out including 2 two year olds both my 75 year old parents, and the rest of us for my neice complaining we still did not have our food after 3 hours waiting. On the way out she pushed my handicap father and told him to hurry and she was calling the police. She said get out of "my resturant"! I was devestated and it takes alot. Great view and walking distance from the Springmaid Pier Double Tree, but sadly, there was a lot left to be desired. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to put our feet up and enjoy some fun beach drinks. The service was ok, but in general we just weren't impressed. We sat in the bar area where everything had that grimy "sticky" kind of feeling. The drinks were weak and a little on the taste-less side unless you got something that was syrup-y sweet. Maybe this was just the wrong time? We didn't order any food because we weren't impressed with our couple of rounds. Just ok. In a nutshell it's kinda gross. The two stars are for the oceanfront view, but the ribs were tough, the pulled pork tasted like it was doused in apple juice and aunt Jemima pancake syrup. The bartender used her bear-claw sized hands to pick up limes and drop them in drinks, and the place had a funky smell. The staff was pleasant but forgetful and overly pushy on the extras. Do yourself a favor and skip Damons until they make the place a little more refined. read more

This is a nice option for dining right near the coast and getting the pretty view of the ocean. I love the option to sit on the deck and hear and feel that ocean breeze. The service was a little slow. Although there were people at the host stand; no one said anything upon entrance. Once seated, the server was nice and cheerful though - and quick to correct any mistakes or bring out extra items as needed. I really enjoyed my Turkey Bacon Club and okra, I think the coleslaw comes with every sandwich.
