We moved here a number of months ago and, fortunately for us, we had not yet had issues with the air conditioning unit we inherited. Last night, on Sunday evening, we noticed the system had taken the day off and it was getting hot. Thank goodness Monday was coming. We called Dan Only, today at 10:40 AM. So we turned on our AC a week ago after temps reached higher 90s this winter, after not using our heater all winter, and noticed the unit kicked on, fan kicked on, wasn't cooling down after several hours which was weird. Tried it again the next day and same result. So after some searching on the neighborhood app, we came across Dan Only HVAC. I called him the next day, and no lie he already had a schedule, and said he could come to my house the same afternoon, which was unbelievable because I know when they're already booked, thats hard to do. But he actually made the time to do it. He came out, troubleshooting the issue but needed to come back next for more troubleshooting. He showed up early next morning before I left for work and had it fixed by the time I arrived at work. The issue: low on Freon and in addition he also found a leak of the Freon. He informed me that he replaced the part where the leak was occurring and filled up the Freon to capacity. He was so kind and exceptionally fair in the price that he charged me such a quick response and above and beyond service for what he completed compared to how much it could actually cost, thank you Dan Only. I wouldn't trust Dan to show up. We had a 9:00 AM appointment and he never called. I texted him around 10 and he said he had some other emergencies and he would be there at 12 or 1. I texted to confirm if it was 12 or closer to 1 at 11:45 and he responded at 12:11 to say it would be 1:30. Then at 12:45 he said he was still busy and was wondering if another day would work. I responded I am available the rest of the afternoon and evening and if he could make it work, I prefer it happening today. He never called again. He never suggested anther day and time. After seeing an add on Nextdoor for an HVAC inspection/tune-up deal, I reached out to Dan. During his visit he discovered that the new condenser that the previous owners of our house had installed was not compatible with the 20+ year old air handler that we had. We now know that the sellers knew this to be the case but went forward regardless during the negotiating process. Long story short, Dan crushed the install of our new air handler. Dan is the man! We were about to pull the trigger on an hvac system replacement for a rental out in La Quinta. HVAC unit running 20+ hours a day trying to maintain 75 temp. with very little air coming through the vents. Contacted Dan after reading some online blogs and ND. Very glad I did. Very honest and good work. He came out and looked at our system. He recommended an indoor coil clean and a blower wheel clean and guaranteed we would notice a big difference. Dan came and put a 50 capacitor in knowing that the unit required a 35..after 20 years in business he knew in short period of v time it would burn up motor and require more work.Totally dishonest person.When I called for Dan to fix over 15 times ..no response.will never use again!!! !! Dan saved the day! We have a vacation rental in Palm Springs. The guests arrived and the AC wasn't working properly on a 100+ day. Even the AC company we have a membership plan with left us hanging as they were booked out for days. I luckily found Dan who was kind, upbeat, and had an "of course I can be there tonight" attitude. Wow, wow, wow is all I can say! Its a very long story concerning my ac system but it involves one after another unscrupulous ac co's. To make a long story short I was told by a very reputable ac co that I needed a new compressor, that will be $3000, he then lowered it to $1k after I told him the unit whould be warrenteed by Goodman, ok, then that will be $1000! Well, its a new unit and I really felt I needed a back up opinion. I'd known Dan through friends and had his number, I thought why not see if he can give a second opinion, the house was getting quite cold and xmas coming up soon. Well, Dan showed up the exact day and time that he said he would, Dan had my unit running in 23 minutes and even had the simple part I needed with him. Dan is impeccable with his word, an expert in his field and a man of honor, he only charged me a service call! I could not recommend anyone higher or with more enthuseasm. Although Dan is a "one man" operation this does not mean he lacks knowledge, professionalism and experience in HVAC installation, troubleshooting and maintenance. He is prompt, courteous and thorough in his work. Dan installed a new AC unit for me back in May and did so on a Friday evening as I needed it for the weekend.
