When I used the "press for assistance" button at the pay station, I spoke with a female employee with a heavy accent who was incredibly aggressive and combative. Despite explaining that I was only visiting the retail shop for a brief moment to support a small business on the property, she rudely insisted that I had to pay the $18 parking fee just to access the shop. Her hostile behavior was completely unnecessary and reflects poorly on the businesses located here. Because she refused to let me through, I was forced to park in the structure at the end of the block. This was a major inconvenience, as I then had to carry bulky retail items all the way back to the structure. I hope the management addresses this specific individual's behavior; $18 is a lot to ask of a customer who is just trying to stop in for a quick retail transaction.

Small cleats so don't come here in a storm as you'll probably tear them from the plywood. The bathrooms are disgusting. One of three showers didn't have a shower head. The other two were just tolerable. Definitely bring shower sandals if not swim boots. All in all, this marina is not worth the price being charged. I thought Dana Point was upscale, but this marina needs to be shut down and renovated.

They had the fridge stocked with water which was a nice perk. It ended up being the highlight of the entire day. My boys absolutely love this camp -- the sailing, the teamwork, the fun -- it's all top notch. This year, we ran into an unexpected situation where one of my sons wasn't able to attend, even though we had signed up well in advance. Based on the camp's policy, Westwind could have easily told us there was nothing they could do -- but they did the opposite. They were quick to respond, incredibly understanding, and went out of their way to accommodate us. In a world where customer service can be hit-or-miss, their compassion and professionalism really stood out. Another lovely moment: during the "practice capsizing" day, my elderly parents came to watch. Without us asking, the amazing staff brought out chairs for them so they could sit and enjoy the event comfortably. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare and speaks volumes about the team behind this camp. We're so grateful for everything Westwind Sailing offers -- from the wonderful instruction to the truly kind and caring staff. Highly recommend this camp to anyone considering it!

Everyone on the boat was super professional and informative. We really appreciate Laura spitting facts at us and making sure we knew what was going on. At one point, I was standing in front of the boat and I was about to go sit back down, but Laura told me to stay because she knew we would see something soon and we saw a Fin whale, which we stopped for a while to watch come up and down and no matter what it's always magical. We ran into a bunch of dolphins and watching them chop and play as always fulfilling. There's no way you can go wrong with this excursion, especially with a discount. They seem to always be offering.
