The concept here is a 5 star concept. Build a permanent kitchen space in the middle of downtown courtyard. Invite local chefs to pop up. Build cute seating around, and add fun mural. Put near popular Old Market. It's a recipe for success for happy "i'll drive anywhere for food" foodies like me. I've caught a few of the openings here and never had a bad meal. I would describe it more like food truck fare with flair- typically local ingredients and a lot of love. I think the best way to track when there will be a pop up is their facebook.

    Yum!

If you've yet to head over/down/up to Dandelion Pop-up, now is the time. This summer's line up is the best yet, and I've never had a bad experience (except when they've run out -- get there early if you can!). Friendly, knowledgeable staff, relaxed atmosphere and tasty, creative offerings. Great way to get to know the work of local chefs and try new things. Bring your kids, your friends, your family, your co-workers. There is something for everyone.

We ordered several appetizers and had drinks. The servers were friendly and the food was delicious. The Crudo was fresh and bright with a bite of spice. Burrata was soft and creamy with tamarind, orange and mint. Highly recommend the Steak Tartare the meat was velvety and the timmur chips had a great crunch for a contrast in texture. This time was Crudo, fried momos, and scallops. The crudo was tender and tangy with a slight spice. The fried momos had a crisp outside with flavorful pork. And the scallops? Beyond! A rich, buttery taste on a bed of lentils. I don't know how but the combination made the already great scallops, really elevate. The interior is cozy and dim, with table lights to create intimacy. You can watch the semi-open kitchen or look out through their large windows. Service is great, as they work as a team. Will definitely be back!

Availability of service was inconsistent when I stayed there, mainly breakfast (a couple days there was just no chef during their open hours). We wondered if we'd need a reservation, but it's much more casual than that, so none is necessary. The menu has a few entrees, handhelds, appetizers, and salads. The night we were there, one dessert was available as well. I should have taken a picture of the menu, but it is one page and a bit abbreviated from the one I saw at ZMenu and on Facebook. The bartender was the server for the bar and all the tables, but was able to keep up pretty well. We each ordered a glass of wine and they didn't have that one, so he upgraded us at no additional charge. For dinner, I got the Chicken BLT - it was very tasty, with fresh avocado, tasty bacon, fresh tomatoes (in March in Nebraska!), and tender grilled chicken. My wife got the Rice Bowl and added Salmon, Also, very fresh, tasty, and flavorful. Prices are on the high side, but not unexpected for a nice hotel. The rice bowl with salmon was $24 and my sandwich was $22. The wine selection was good, and they had a decent hard alcohol array as well. Wines were about the retail price of a bottle for each glass, and martinis and drinks were around $16. Service was good. Definitely worth a visit if you're staying here or to stop in for a casual bite to eat.

Ok the other hand, the service is rather iffy & unpredictable. The chicken & waffles is my go-to for each visit, and they have many types of delicious sides to choose from, with my favorites being the biscuits & berries, goat cheese grits, and also the fried green tomatoes. I have zero problems with the food that they serve here, they always do an excellent job at preparing whatever they need to prepare & the portions are always satisfactory. As for the service, there are days where you will receive perfect service while on others the service is not so great. Some days you will be attended to in a timely manner, while there is other days where there isn't anyone available or willing to seat you somewhere. I've also experienced instances where they didn't attend to our table to take orders until I made a complaint. Most of these instances were during days where the place was virtually empty so it's not because of the place being busy. I've also ordered take out from here before, again some instances are perfect and there's other instances where they don't tell you if a certain food is out of stock via text or call so if you ordered something that isn't in stock, you're forced to wait for them to prepare something else once you arrive to pick up your order. They also don't always include syrup or butter in the takeout bags for chicken & waffles. One minor thing I'm also disappointed about is how the portion of grits has lessened over time, going from being served in a bowl to instead being served in a small cup/mug. Overall, I certainly don't return for the service because you never really know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day for that. It's always the food that brings me back. I do want to like this place, and I do to an extent but again the service is always unpredictable. I'd still say the food is worth coming here to see how it goes.

I asked for mine medium, but it arrived well-done. What disappointed us the most was that neither the manager nor the chef came to the table to apologize or address the situation. Unfortunately for them, we have both worked in the restaurant industry for years, and we know the proper protocol. At the very least, a manager should approach the table when a guest sends a dish back. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant.
