DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. They gave my baby an infection from cutting him with the scissors. I politely asked them for a refund or some sort of accommodation because the vet bill and antibiotics were nearly $300 and the refused to do so and were not even sympathetic for what their mediocre groomers did. They tried to say my vet was inexperienced and did not know what they were talking about to come up with such a diagnosis and even equated what happened to "a razor burn". This place is horrible. The staff are unprofessional. They shaved my dog down to the bone, even her ears. They also cut a mustache. She looks like a male dog. Her eyelashes are cut all the way down. My dog is a shihpoo. They informed me that they "ripped the hair" out of the inside of her ears. They didn't even brush her teeth. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I can't even give a single star. This place is terrible. They should consider hiring people who know how to groom dogs and have good customer service. I am so disappointed in this groomer. Have used them 2 other times and they were 1. great and 2nd time OK, Guess third's the charm because they were awful! My Max's coat is uneven, scruffy in spots and full of mats. They didn't even give him a good bath or nail trim. On top of that, they took 4+ hours and didn't call to tell us he was ready. We were sitting outside waiting to go and finally went to check, he was sitting there. This was after 5pm. So I regretfully take back my earlier review. I will NEVER come back to this establishment because of the lack of professionalism and hospitality!! As a new patient/client, I had an AWFUL and UNJUST experience with this organization. Everything was great when I called to inquire about their services and to book an appointment for my fur baby. I spoke to someone named Amanda and she was helpful and friendly. I walked in and saw one of the employees wrapping up with a couple who has just had their pet groomed. The employee seemed friendly and attentive. They said their goodbyes as I waited patiently to be greeted. The couple left and she still had not acknowledged my presence. I later found out that the employee that refused to greet me was Amanda which was a big shock because she was pleasant over the phone and to the previous customers who were there when I initially walked in. Another groomer come out from the back and realized she was missing a dog. Amanda then looked at me, then looked at the groomer and motioned with her face and said, "Oh, that's HER dog." Still refusing to acknowledge or greet me as if I wasn't a valued customer. At this point, it's starting to feel uncomfortable and apparent that I'm not welcomed. She kept referring to me as "HER" instead of my name and my fur baby as "THAT DOG" instead of her name or breed which again, was on the same form she was holding that I filled out earlier when I first arrived. It was clear as day her treatment towards me was racially motivated. She was super cheery with the previous clients, who appeared to be white, and when she turned to me, her whole demeanor changed as if she didn't want to deal with me. I just wasn't expecting to be treated differently based on the color of my skin. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere! read more

Wonderful experience for Sofi and Dixson they've been twice thus far since new owners are there. My doggies love this place. Only issue is both times my Sofi scratches from the time I pick her up for two days or so then she's good. I'm sure when I mention it they will take care of her. read more

Please read all the other reviews before you bring your pet here ! I've given this place so many chances to change my mind but they disappoint me each and every time. The most unprofessional and worst place to bring your dog. They have no clue what they are doing. The groomers are untrained and mess up my doodles hair each and every time. The only reason I continue to bring my golden doodle here is because they always have a spot open ( because no one wants to come here obviously) and because it's the only groomer close to me. I brought him here out of convenience only. This time my dog was there the entire day bc he apparently pooped on himself. He is a well behaved dog and God only knows what they did to him to make him poop on himself. When I tried to ask about how and why he pooped on himself they got aggressive with me. You are taking a risk by brining your dog here. I'll gladly go back to Buckhead where the real groomers are. read more

I called the day before the appointment to clarify that my appointment was still on file... the person on duty said it was scheduled & that I actually needed to provide my phone number for my customer file so I did . Then following the day of the appointment I arrived to come to find out my appointment wasn't even scheduled on their database .... When I talked to the manager he told me their was nothing he can do and I didn't have an appointment & was questioning me instead of questioning his staff them continued to have a smart tone with me ..... Pet Owners Beware...This place is run by amateurs! After showing them a picture, they shaved my puppy down to the bones, cutting all the hair we waited to grow. On top of that, the scheduler called to remind me of my appointment (the following day), not knowing my pup was already there and ready for pick-up. When I arrived they had no idea where he was and walked in the back calling his name, hoping to grab the first dog that responded. They lost his collar and seemed to be all over the place. I was so impressed after my first visit 2 months ago. My Aussiedoodle looked and smelled great, and he came home with a cute bandana around his neck. Last Saturday's visit was exactly the opposite, huge disappointment. I arrived for pick-up at 3:30pm (closing time is 4pm), despite the fact that I did not get a phone call. I was told he was ready, so all was well. When I pick-up my pup up from a day at the spa, I love to smell his clean coat. I thought he looked unfinished when I picked him up, but after smelling him and feeling his coat, I know he was not bathed, nor were his nails trimmed. I was charged $100, and btw, I brush and comb my dog daily, he had NO matts. I can accept that they may have been running behind and would have even brought him back for his bath on another day, but the dishonestly is intolerable. I asked the groomer why his feet did not come clean and was told all dogs in ATL have stained feet from the red clay. Sounds reasonable. I bathed my pup at home today, and the white feet are sparkling- no peroxide required. I would follow the groomer who attended to Nestle at his first visit but will not patronize this dishonest establishment going forward. read more

Thumbs up to Dandy Dogs and Lorena Robinson! This pet spa is located in a very non descript strip mall on Atlanta rd near the intersection of Atlanta rd and Cumberland Pkwy (E/W Connector). My dry cleaner is in the same development. I would never have known about this pet spa if it wasn't for the fact my dry cleaner was a couple doors down. Its like a hidden gem. One day after picking up my cleaning I figured I'd stop in to Dandy Dogs (I think the sign just says "Pet Spa") just to check the place out and see what they would charge to groom my golden retriever. Immediately after walking in I was taken back by how personable Lorena (the owner and groomer) was. The environment is lofty. It's just one big open space with small areas for the nice dogs to just be free and an open air pen style section for dogs that might need timeout or just a little down time. The place is clean, smells good and there is classical music playing in the background. Lorena started by asking questions about my dog. She shared details on her technique, the materials she uses to groom and bathe (including the fact that she uses as many natural and organic/ non chemical items as she can). She even discussed how she does some sort of blueberry mask facial on the dogs so as to avoid getting any shampoos around their eyes. What I really liked is that the whole time she was telling me about her services, the dog she was grooming (a bichon) was just sitting in her lap looking at her like she was some sort of dog whisperer. Lorena was loving all over the dog in such a genuine way the whole time we spoke. At that point I honestly didn't care about what the ultimate punch line was re: her cost. I knew I wanted to schedule an appointment. Finally when she told me her costs I was literally shocked. Her price for a regular groom was about 30% less than what we were paying another local groomer. Earlier this week we had our dog groomed with Lorena. She did an amazing job and just like that little bichon, our golden was just so happy when we picked her up. It was like she truly had a day at the spa. During a time like this when repeat customers should be appreciated, the thought of increasing rates at a time such as this is disrespectful and very insensitive. I took my Havanese and my Cavalier last week to get groomed. They looked great when I picked them up and they were so happy to have been around other dogs during their spa experience. My Havanese is white and stains easily in the face. They got all of his stains off and his coat never looked so white. Also they didn't shave him down like a lot of groomers. He was scissor cut and he was trimmed beautifully. My Cavalier was blown dry and his long ears looked gorgeous. This is my new pet go to place. Update: This salon has been sold. I picked up my Cavalier and he had a huge mat on his chest they didn't remove. My Havanese was scalped. It is not the same place or standard of care. I will not be going back. read more

As the 5 star rating suggests, Dandy Dogs really is "as good as it gets". Lorena makes you feel like your dog is her own dog. The animals' comfort is priority #1, which is such a change from most groomers. My little boy came home happier than he went in and looking SO CUTE! Lorena truly has a gift in working with animals and I am lucky I found her! She listens to what you want and also makes helpful suggestions with regards to at home fur care, what type of cut your little guy should get, and just overall care of your pet. Horrible grooming business and people including the owner! Do NOT take your dog here ever!!! When I called to make an appt. I asked how long my dog would be there. The answer was 3-4 hours. I confirmed this when I dropped her off for her appt. I called after 3 hours to check the status and I was told she had not been groomed yet! My poor dog had been locked in a cage for 3 hours waiting and nothing! I spoke to the owner who had a horrible defensive attitude and hung up the phone on me when I explained the details I had been given when making the appt and confirmed at drop off again.. I drove there arriving 4 hours after I dropped her off and she was still in a cage in the back still waiting. The groomer and the owner gave me more attitude and told me take my dog and they refused to groom her. The groomer did not even hand me my small dog she threw her to the floor. My dog was scared and shaking. She latched onto me not to let go of her. After we left and I put her down to walk she was limping. They hurt my baby. This place needs to be sued and shut down! Everything this Yolanda said in response to my negative review is a lie! if anyone out there wants to now who is liar just read other negative reviews on Dandy Dogs Grooming Salon. They mention how rude the owner is and what a liar they are as well as everyone else there. My appt was for 10:30 and I showed up at 10:30. I asked on the phone BEFORE I made the appt. how long will my dog be there? Amanda replied 3-4 hours. When I dropped my dog off I asked could you make it closer to 3 hours because my dogs has some separation anxiety. I was told that shouldn't be a problem. Yet when I called to check on my dog after 3 hours I told they had not got to her yet. The response I got was unprofessional and rude and I was hung up on. Then at the 4 hour mark I showed up to see how much longer since they were not answering phone calls and again she was still in the back not groomed. Everything I said is 100% the truth. I would love for these people to take a lie detectors test. It is obvious if many other people say the same thing they are liars, then guess what they are! My dog was not limping when she walked into this place, but was after I picked her up she was! I hope they have video to prove my dog was thrown to the floor and when I picked her up she was shaking and scared so bad she was holding on to me for her life. She didn't and couldn't have walked out of this place as they state because I forgot her collar, harness and leash in the car. That is why I discovered she was limping after we had left there. Believe me if I had noticed while I was there I would have called and reported animal abuse. Then she makes up some nonsense in her reply I was kicked out of another grooming salon. The customer experience started one Saturday morning when we called to see if the groomer would be able to see our Welsh terrier, Reagan, and if not, when the next availability would be. There was no same day availability (which is understandable), but thankfully there was room the following Tuesday. We were told drop off starts at 8:00 and pick up by 6:00, which is typical to other groomers we've used in the area. We were asked several questions about previous groomers and styles that we liked and didn't like. This gave us high hopes for our upcoming service. Fast forward to Tuesday. As the shop is somewhat on my way to work, I take Reagan along with me, and I allow a few extra minutes to handle the drop-off before I had to be in the office. I walk into the shop at 8:55, where I am told immediately "Your appointment was at 8:00. Your appointment has been filled". There was no "Hello", no "Good Morning", not even an a call to let me know they were about to give the appointment I didn't know I had. My inquiry into any remaining availability that day was met with another sharp "No". There was not even an offer to look up the next availability, which is probably best because at this point I was already running quite late to work because I now had to drive back to my house to return Reagan. At least the lady at the counter remained consistent in her approach to customer service as there was not even any recognition of my obvious displeasure/frustration with the situation. Now, let's forget about the fact that there was no mention of a specific appointment time during the booking. Even if there was and I had simply misunderstood, the rudeness and lack of professionalism in handling this situation was unwarranted. This shop may do wonders with clippers and scissors, but due to this shockingly rude encounter, a prospective customer and his still shaggy dog will never return to experience it. read more

If you are looking for a groomer with too much lip, and that seems to think her time is more important than yours, then you will be right at home. I took my Yorkies here only two or three times, before essentially being blacklisted for not giving a 48 hour cancellation notice. Seriously, "where they do that at" like the youngsters say. Not only was I never told upfront that a 48 hour cancellation notice is required, but that is absolutely ridiculous! I could understand a 48 hour notice for a medical procedure, but for a dog grooming appointment, someone thinks an awful lot of themselves. Literally, my medical doctor doesn't even require a 48 hour cancellation. However, this is Lorena's policy so it is what it is, but I should have been told about this policy the first time that I called. read more

I can't say enough about the level of care Dandy dogs pet spa give my 1 year old Havanese Bella. Bella has a bath and her popular blueberry facial every Wednesday and she loves it.. I call Ms. Lorena ( the owner) , the dog whisperer because she does more than make them look and smell good ( which they do every time ) but she gives them attention and love while there in her care. I often catch her whispering something in their ears . My Bella runs into the shop and jumps in her arms..
