    Kauai Shrimp Skewer
    Ryan F.

The restaurant was well kept - it was clean and neat. There was some cool decor too - I liked the octopus mural on the wall and on the menu. There was a mix of visitors and locals. The restaurant has taken the place of the previous restaurant, FOND. Service was good too - Santiago was great and always checked in on us and made sure we had enough water. We got 3 skewers: the shishito peppers (8 pieces), the pork belly and the Kauai shrimp. The peppers were good; the pork belly and Kauai shrimp weren't bad, but not something I'd order again. I'd try another skewer along with shishito peppers. They're still waiting for their liquor license, so we got some mocktails. I got the Kilauea Vog - it was a bit sour. I didn't mind it but it may not be for everyone. The "Mi-Ma Who?" was fantastic. It really brought us back to our memories when we visited Okinawa. I'd say it was the star of our evening. My wife got the duck ramen. The ingredients mention it had Szechuan peppercorn, but it was difficult to find that flavor in the ramen. Overall it was straightforward rather than complex. We were hoping for more in a duck-focused dish. I had the udon carbonara. I really enjoyed this. This would become my go-to order if I were a regular customer here. Our overall visit was a mixed bag. The next time we're in Napili we'll check to see how things have progressed. Wishing dang dang noodle all the best.

Been waiting impatiently for this restaurant to open and WOW! It was only the second or third night since it opened but it was full and lively and had a great vibe. They give a Kamaiiana discount so there were plenty of locals there and it is obviously going to be a popular addition to local dining. In fact half the local Napili Paddle club were there dining that night ;) Love the decor with a big bar, Tako mural, and wooden seating. BYO booze as they are waiting for their drinks license but Napili Market stocks a great selection of beers and wines just across the complex. Service was great, we had a wobbly table and they gave us napkins to put underneath to keep it stable. Have to have a stable table for ramen! Server was quick, efficient, professional and was thinking ahead, bringing multiple spoons for dessert we were sharing, and keeping our waters topped up. The menu is a mix of soup/dimsum/bites, followed by sashimi/salad/pickles, skewers, charcoal cooked foods, veggies, then noodles with add ons, and dessert. We ordered: Pickles - a mixed plate of shishito peppers, spicy kimchi, broccolini namasu, konbu. A mixture of vinegar, spice, crunch and umami flavors to complement your food, the kimchi was a stand out Pork Belly skewers - delicious with a little bit of fat to give them extra taste Kauai Shrimp skewers - a whole shrimp with head so you can suck out the juices, delicately seasoned Vegan Ramen - umami with plenty of veggies, I added a Shio egg and spicey paste so I could spice it to my liking. Very tasty for a vegan dish Tan Tan Ramen - spicy and oh so nicey! Pork and interestingly oat milk Pork Belly Ramen - creamy broth makes this a little different Shoyu Chicken Ramen - traditional with lots of noodles in a big bowl Ube Cheesecake/Molten Lava cake with ice cream- desserts are very small but well made and a nice sweet end to an umami meal The ramen come in big bowls, steaming hot and are extremely filling and were very popular. Next visit I will order the Baked Dynamite Scallops and the Spiced Cauliflower. This is definitely going to be a favourite, can't wait to see their cocktail menu once they have their drinks license!

I don't understand the people who didn't give this place 5 stars. It's ramen. Very good ramen. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. We just strolled in and they were booked but had room at the bar. The spicy cauliflower was very well cooked, and was delicious. My wife had the Shoyu Ramen. She loved it, the chicken was tender and full of flavor, perfectly seasoned. Also, the 6 minute egg. I'll get to that shortly. I had the Dang Dang Saimin. Wow! The chicken was amazing, and the spam was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The 6 minute egg was so creamy and delicious, just the egg was worth the visit. The bartender who took care of us was very friendly, and provided great service. I really appreciated the laid back, relaxed atmosphere. We had a great meal! I am so happy we got to eat here on the first week it was open. I can only imagine Dang Dang noodle will be even better after a few months of continuous service. Highly recommended, eat here, you won't regret it!

As a vegetarian, I asked the waiter what I could order and they said they could make pad Thai, Singapore noodles, garlic noodles, vegetarian. We ordered the green beans, appetizer and the Singapore noodles vegetarian both were excellent!! The Singapore noodles are a bean thread noodle with egg and tofu and bell peppers and tiny limes. I think were calamansi-- just delicious!! The green beans came with crispy, garlic, and spicy Fresno peppers on top and we're cooked to a chard perfection. Would definitely return. It was clear that the menu had undergone changes from the original offerings, yet there was no indication or communication about these updates prior to reservation, which left us surprised and dissatisfied with the dish served. The menu options between lunch and dinner were unexpected and somewhat disappointing, as it limited our choices.

We originally had called in for a reservation for 12 and they scheduled us for a 7pm table. We had some of our party not able to join us so I called them back and asked if we were a party of 9, could we be seated sooner? They opened at 5 and we requested to have an earlier dinner appointment. The hostess was quick to accommodate and gave us a 5pm reservation. - I felt that the servers were very attentive our entire meal, always making sure to get any extra plates out of the way and refilling waters often Bad: - it was quite overpriced. I understand that this is a tourist-centered area, but I cannot fathom paying $40+ for pasta... the serving size for most of our food was disappointing to say the least. The Alaskan roll had barely any fish and the rolls were not very big. It was falsely advertised to us by our waiter that a roll could easily feed 6-7 people. Please refer to the pictures below to reference serving size. - the food itself was not up to standard, especially for the outrageous price we paid for it all. The short rib wontons... first of all, I recommend Sansei changes the name of this dish because are a far cry from wontons. They did not taste good and there was barely any filling in them. The Alaskan roll tasted like only rice and cucumber. The cooked salmon was dry and came with a single jumbo shrimp... - our main waiter was rude, he did not seem to have much patience, giving us attitude and tone that did not feel appropriate. Conclusion: Overall, we were disappointed with our experience at Sansei. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, visitor or local, and we will not be coming back.

Let's just say there wasn't a single thing on the table I regretted ordering. Everything looked amazing and tasted even better. Honestly, if calories don't count on vacation, I was doing great. Huge shout out to Joe! He kept checking on us to make sure everything was perfect. I told him to surprise me with a drink, and he came back with the Island Magic...and wow, he wasn't kidding. That drink was dangerously good. If I didn't have a flight to catch in an hour, Joe probably would've had me missing my plane! Great food, great drinks, great service, and a clean, welcoming place. What more could you ask for? Tiffany's is officially my #1 must visit spot in Maui. Food: We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, miso butterfish, garlic furikake fries, hamachi sashimi, garlic noodles, and crispy chicken. My favorite was the hamachi sashimi. What I enjoyed about this dish was the diced maui onion that offset the citrus from the ponzu. The flavors are light, and refreshing. The most disappointing was the crispy chicken. I thought it was too salty, but that's my preference and salt tolerance. The miso butterfish was also a great dish. The fish was buttery and flavored well. Not too saucy but the perfect amount of sauce. Service: Service is friendly, like most of the restaurants on Maui. The food was served in a timely manner. The ambiance is casual and felt like a bar restaurant. Overall, I'm not sure if I would return. After ordering 6-7 dishes, I wanted to be blown away by at least 4-5 of them, but that wasn't the case. Do yourself a service and try it out at least once if you are curious!

For anyone thinking of coming here in the future, please do so because the food and service are just phenomenal. Upon entering the restaurant, we were surprised by how upscale the environment was. We originally sat at a table but were moved to the bar area in order to take advantage of their happy hour. The mocktails were so terrific that we wanted to try more but held ourselves back because we needed to save some room for dessert. I highly recommend the Coconut Pandan Lemonade. The bright green color scared me a little, but it was delish and packed some strong pandan flavor. We tried all of the bao wows options since they were just $5 each during happy hour. I appreciate how they all had their unique presentation and taste. But the best part of our meal was undoubtedly the Kaya Toast (hawaiian bread | coconut pandan jam | kona coffee ice cream marcona | ginger syrup ) The bread was deep fried, providing a nice texture that complemented the ice cream. And there was fricken coconut pandan jam in the middle of the bread too!! We were a bit worried about the ice cream being coffee flavor since we're not into coffee like that but it wasn't strong at all. The coconut pandan jam just tied everything together wonderfully. Huge props to the bartender for convincing us to get the kaya toast!

They offer valet parking at no charge, real treat for Lahaina. Just tip the valet. Our server was Max who was very helpful and had total command of the menu. We started with the pressed duck bao followed by the pork dumplings and garlic noodles with chicken and an order of green beans. All 4 of these were really good. The pressed duck bao being the star of the 4. In addition we had the Crispy egg noodles with all kinds of veggies. The plate as delivered was basically tasteless and the crispy noodles were all fused like two nests, one on each end with a pile of stir fried veggies in the middle. We got some hot sauce and soy sauce and mixed it in the plate to soften the noodles and give it some flavor. That made it better but not good. We informed Max of our feelings on the plate and when the bill came the manager taken the Crispy noodles off our tab, class act. Thank you. The rating is actually 3 1/2 stars but Yelp has no half stars.
