I recently went in to purchase a ring with my son for his girlfriend and was hoping to get a knowledgeable salesperson to help us make an informed decision. What we got instead was an unbelievably unprofessional and rude manager who made it seem like we were an inconvenience and a burden. She was extremely snippy with non-answers and quick to point out how expensive things are, implying we didn't have the money for anything in there. To top all of this extremely atrocious behavior off, she reeked of cannabis and was visibly stoned out of her gourd. Don't drink the water in the water cooler! It's full of black specks and mold!!! I came in on a Saturday morning early this month looking to spend my money at your store. I wanted information on a pair of earrings, while I waited, they offered me a cup of water. After drinking HALF OF IT, I looked down into my cup and noticed multiple black particles swimming around. I then asked for another cup of water because maybe it was the cup that had been tainted. No, your employees brought me another cup full of even more black mold. This is so unacceptable, I could have DIED. After the small amount I consumed, I started feeling lightheaded, some wheezing, my throat was so sore and I even got a bad case of the runs. My husband rushed me to the hospital as soon as I told him what happened. I will be taking legal action because you're going to get someone killed! I wish I had taken some for of pictures, but I was too horrified and felt way too ill to even think of this. read more

Very disappointed after specifically going into the store in the Arrowhead Mall in Peoria, AZ to order a military ring. After standing outside the store behind a chain when only four customers were inside, was ridiculous. Finally, the store manager came and admitted us. We were turned over to a nice lady, however, her command of the English language was lacking. There was a definite language barrier and it was difficult to get her to understand me while attempting to order a military ring for myself. I am a Zales Diamond Card holder, and was denied an advertised $50.00 discount on the ring due to a two cent difference, however, it came to over $300.00 total cost. I asked the lady helping us to please ask the store manager to allow the $50.00 discount as I would pay the two cents difference. I also explained the total cost would have been over $300.00 anyway. The manager would not even take the time to come over to talk to me about the issue, but rather, just sent the lady back to us refusing to honor the discount. I am a good customer, having purchased a $2,000 diamond ring for my wife from that store previously. I am writing this as I am really taken back by the way we were treated. There are many jewelry stores to choose from, and your store will continue to lose business by mistreating customers. This location has had several breakdowns in customer service and follow-up. I brought in a ring purchased on Zales online for sizing and purchased the jewelry warranty. Upon arrival, I'm sized but the representative says she is unable to verify my warranty and emails a receipt of the repair. It is now 30 days later, I have no ring. Upon calling I follow-up, I find out my item was never sized and was sent to repair with no sizing info. Several days later there is no call from the manager Giovanna. Unfortunately, now I'll be returning the ring. Please train your staff, had I not called I would of never known of these circumstances. I went in to have my bi-annual ring inspection. I had to go to this location instead of my original purchase location in Paradise Valley due to its closure. The wait time here was about 10-15 minutes. I dealt with the same sales person (the store manager) during my recent visit as when I purchased my wedding ring. I was speaking to the manager and mid-sentence, I was very rudely interrupted by one of the sales people. She said she's sorry for interrupting but her client had a question and she couldn't wait. Rude!! How is this okay? My inquiries with the manager was cut short and I left. This visit was pretty disrespectful on the female workers behalf. I walked out of all of them before they even finished trying to sell me anything. After meeting and dealing with Melissa at the Zales in Arrowhead Mall, I would never go anywhere else. I really wish I would have read other reviews before deciding to do business with Zales. My experience first led me to not want to do business in their brick and mortar location, however now that I have seen that a majority of customers have terrible experiences and the corporation is doing nothing, I will not be using them as an online retailer either. The first negative experience I had was when I was simply going to pick up an online order that had been delivered to the store (4-21-15). While I understand that the sales associates on the floor were currently helping customers, I am used to (at the very least) being acknowledged. Employees at stores where I spend a fraction of what I spend on jewelry are better at showing that they are aware of my presence and that someone will help me shortly. Once the sales clerk acknowledged me and found my item she proceeded to remove the pricing from my purchase without showing me that my item was intact, or for that matter really letting me look at the online exclusive item I was just now seeing in person! Then without even attempting to offer me a warranty plan or any type of upsell (I'm a female, it's a men's watch, perfect opportunity to see if I could use a warranty plan for this obvious gift), she wrapped it (as offered by her and accepted by me), put it in a bag, slapped in on the counter and sent me on my way. After this experience we called it an unfortunate evening but were happy to be done...then it needed resizing. Given as a gift the very next day, we needed a few links taken out asap and I promptly returned. Since my fiance couldn't join me I brought a properly fitting watch of his and an idea of how many links needed to be removed. After experiencing the same feelings of invisibility once entering the store, the sales clerk that eventually helped me immediately questioned me in an almost accusatory manner about my watch being purchased from them. I was asked for a receipt which I began to pull up on my phone but not before it was implied that without his wrist, she couldn't size it. I informed her that I had brought a properly fitting watch and she took it from me and proceeded to ask a complete stranger to put it on to see how it fit! I told her that was unacceptable and to just remove three links from the new watch. After removing the links without ever having received proof of purchase, she returned to me at the counter and handed me the loose links, I had to ask her for a bag to put them in! I was then given my item and nothing was said, no "thank you", no "have a nice day", nothing. I am completely done with this business and hope others will avoid it as well! I waited 30 minutes to pick up my ring and noticed and had to wait another 30 minutes to get it sent back in. This is not just a bad review, this is something I want anybody looking into buying jewelry from Daniel's to take into consideration. After spending so much time and energy into looking for the perfect Jean as a Christmas gift I decided to go to Daniels. My chain was delayed a full weekend and when it finally arrived I got excited. I open the box and lobster clasp is broken. I was really upset that the chain came broken and I couldn't do anything about it until the store was open. I went over on Christmas Yves and try to get it fixed or replaced as soon as possible because obviously this is a Christmas gift that I needed fast. I walked in as respectful as can be and I asked if they can replace the chain or fix it they wanted me to wait two weeks to replace the chain because it wasn't there and I asked if they can fix it. They then gave me a paper with the coupon on it and told me to go to a jewelry repair shop that was in the same mall. I went to the shop in the shop was trying to charge me $85 to get it fixed I told them no and I went back to Daniels to see what we can do. They then told meThat they were not able to replace the chain at all because "I" broke it. I told them I didn't want any problems but this was terrible customer service and I need something done. I asked them nicely if they can at least fix it and they said no. I told them I needed something done because I bought an expensive chain from them and it's broken. They gave me a toll free number to call to get it replaced. I've called twice and they won't exchange it, they just want to refund me. After each call they promised me an email with a return label and i have yet to receive one. Now I'm stuck with a broken chain as a gift and the thought of never wanting to give them my business ever again. Don't buy from Daniels. read more

Unfortunately I brought my wedding ring set here to get sized. When I came into the location I was helped by a lady that went over the sizing and told me my ring should be able to get sized and they will give me a call if any additional things need to be done to the ring. I receive a call a few weeks later telling me my rings were ready to be picked up. I go into the store to pick up my rings and for some reason my receipt was not letting the lady ring me out. She repeatedly asked me if they did anything additional to my rings and I told her I was not notified if someone did. She went over to speak to the manager and then can back and told me that the receipt is not ringing up because they did no work to my rings. She said they were not able to do anything to it because of the diamonds on the band. I was extremely upset and left. After reading reviews on other places I decided to try out Diamond House in Scottsdale. Not only did they complete the work and have the rings done the very next day but they also charged me the same place that Zales was going to charge. I thought going to Scottsdale would cost me more but it did not and if they did then I would have been willing to pay it based on the great service and friendly workers. read more

I ordered a ring for my girlfriend from them back in November and it didn't fit so I returned and have been waiting on my refund for almost a month and still NOTHING. I have called customer service MULTIPLE times. Sat on hold for a collective THREE HOURS just for them to end the call with less than ten minutes left on hold. I bought a ring online for my girlfriend. She went into this Zales location to have it sized. This should be easy - not at Zales! The sales associates were very rude and dismissive of her inquiry. At one point they tried to assert that buying something online from Zales is entirely different than buying it in store so "there's just nothing we can do." There were two sales associates responsible for this negative experience. One had long red hair and the other had an Eastern European accent. Zales employees have no morals. They will flat out lie to you, just to make a sale. I unfortunately dealt with employee Jody. She was great when she was lying to me to make a sale. She promised that if a better sale came up within 60 days, that I could come back in for a price adjustment. Just two weeks later, said sale happened. I even called the store before coming in to make sure they could take care of it. They said they could, and I hurried to drive the 30 minutes to the store before they closed. Upon arrival, the entire story changed. Jody told me that she did not tell us that on our previous visit. And that they could not just issue a refund for the price difference. That I would have to return the ring I've been wearing for two weeks. And Re-Purchase a ring online and wait for it to be shipped to me. So buyer beware! I ordered a ring online size 7. The ring arrives clearly not a size 7. I call the store to see if they can just swap it out. I spoke with Jody who said the store manager is not in. (close to closing time understandable) She recommended I just have it resized or to return it and repurchase. To me resize is not an option as I feel it loses integrity. Repurchase, not an option as the ring is now $500 more (gotta love a good sale). I asked if she can confirm they have a size 7 ring in store and there was. Jody said she will reach out to the manager and then call me back the next day. Sunday rolls around no word from Jody so I call myself. She claims to have spoken to the manager who said no changes. I asked to speak with the manager but she is not in on Sundays. I decided to call the 1-800 number and spoke with Yolanda. She was very apologetic for the situation and said she will email the manager directly and I should have a follow-up Monday morning. Monday morning comes around and I decide to give the store a call right when they open. Spoke with the store manager right away Geovanna (sorry probably spelled that wrong) She initially thought I was from the 1800 number because she talking in terms of him and his. After clarifying I am the customer she agrees to swap out the ring! She asks for what time ill be there and told me she will hold the ring on the side so no one will sell it. I arrive at the store at the time agreed and was in and out in less than 5 minutes with the correct ring in hand! So Long story short Kudos to the GM and Yolanda from the 800 number. DO NOT SHOP AT ZALES!!!!! Zales' customer service and "corporate policy" does not allow you to return a purchase with a receipt. You must have the exact credit card it was purchased with. My husband bought me a Christmas gift. It was a pair of earrings that were identical to a pair I already had. I found the receipt and tried to return the earrings (only two days after the original purchase without telling my husband so he would not be disappointed. The store would not allow me to return the earrings even with the receipt. They claim it is corporate policy. Now I must take my husbands credit card without telling him or I must tell my husband that I need to return the gift. So very disappointing! I will never shop a Zales again! So many terrible experiences with this store. Customer service is a foreign concept here. I have a Zales credit card, so in an effort to not have it be closed due to inactivity, I begrudgingly and against my better judgement ordered a piece of jewelry online and opted to have it shipped to the store. That was on 2/28. On 3/7, I received the email telling me my package was shipped to the store. Finally, by 3/19, I'm wondering what's going on so I follow the tracking information and see that it was delivered on 3/2 and signed for by Cathy, the current store manager with whom I have spoken before. I called the store and requested a call back from Cathy and, to her credit, I received one within two hours of my message. I wanted to know why my order was delivered nearly 3 weeks prior and I received no notification. She tells me ship to store is "a whole separate animal and we never call when we receive packages". Ok... then she proceeds to tell me that no company would call in this position and that when she "orders from Nordstrom to be shipped to the store, she doesn't get a phone call". That is not only irrelevant, but also demonstrates to me that Cathy is more interested in condescension than problem solving. I then suggested that perhaps if the ship to store division of Zales, the company for which Cathy also works, is failing to send the notification emails to customers that their potentially multi-thousand dollar purchase is available for pick up, there might be something that needs to be done to correct that problem. I was assured that she would pass the complaint on to customer service. It would have been a completely different phone call with Cathy if she actually empathized and offered to pass the information on to customer service on her own without her baseless and unnecessary assertions that ALL stores operate like Zales does (which is obviously not true, as I haven't had nearly the same volume of issues with any other store in my life). At this point, I was annoyed. I said it was silly that it's been 3 weeks with no notification that my item was signed for, to which Cathy responded, "ok, have a good day." Is this a life altering big deal? Obviously not, and I will go pick up my item and immediately return it and life will go on. I sincerely hope that maybe this review and others will dissuade at least one person from wasting their money and time here. read more
