A review of E. D. Marshall Jewelry. My wife and I have dealt…read morewith the Surprise store for years. I went to the Surprise E.D. Marshall store today for evaluation of some silver pieces. The lady was extremely polite but could not evaluate it because a certain piece of equipment was not available and she said the Avondale store could evaluate it. She made an appointment for me. It was for 1:30 PM. My wife and I drove the 14 miles and arrived at 1:27. We were told to take a seat behind one woman being served and two other people seated. I told her we had a 1:30 appointment and she said the others were ahead of us; not with appointments, walk ins. I questioned again about the appointment time and she said she would get too us in order of the others. She was polite and said this was the way things are done at E. D. Marshall. Frustrated we took seats, waited 25 minutes then finally left and went to another buyer. It was a totally wrong way to handle customers. If you ever watched Seinfeld, when he didn't get his reserved car, he said to the clerk, "You know how to take the reservation. You just don't know how to keep the reservation." 28 miles round trip to find appointments mean nothing at E. D. Marshall.
