However, after asking all my questions about my move and how long it would take, they became antagonistic. I am a single lady with not a lot of stuff to move. Everything was going to be packed already so the movers would just transport everything. I estimated no more than an hour to load, an hour to unload, and an hour to drive to my new place. The person said "let's do the math together" and said it would take 7-8 hours! I replied saying I find that hard to believe since my friends and I could move me in an hour at each place and we're not professionals. After I said that, I was told they wouldn't hook up my appliances, after they said they would. Or they would hook them up but would charge me extra. I don't trust these people. I just tried to get a quote and they were extremely rude as well as coming up with additional fees out of the blue. I do NOT recommend. EDIT: the guys response below is an example of how he will treat you. Very condescending. While he feels it is impossible to do that move, my friend and I were able to do the move in four hours and we are not professionals. There's some info for you. Apparently it takes professionals double the time with double the people.

Previously when I moved, I had movers who can shrink wrap everything by themselves- one person with a some kind of tool. These guys took the shrink wrap and literally walked around with the furniture, so it took some time. I had to move some of the lighter boxes with my roommate downstairs to speed up the process. Another perk of hiring movers is because they can take apart your bed and put it together. Except the one guy who took bed apart took soooo long to do so. Again, manually doing it with a screwdriver instead of using power tools. I know that sometimes it's better not to use power tools so you don't damage the furniture but uhhh that's if you're inexperienced. Okay, not my biggest complaint. Here's the part that is the most bothersome. My bed is new and quite expensive. When they were wrapping up my bed, they left one piece (the footboard) behind. My guess is because it was the smallest piece but that doesn't mean you don't cover it up. They threw it in on top of a box and I brought it to their attention. The guys told me that it would be fine & they would throw a blanket on top of it. Well, now I have all these scruffs all along the side of my footboard. Yes, it may seem minor but it could of been avoided if they just shrink wrapped my footboard when I asked them to. Then I notice a missing screw between my bed & the attached side/night stand. Never brought it to my attention. Perhaps they thought I wouldn't realize it??? It's a pretty crucial piece actually as it holds the bottom shelf from sloping downwards. Now I have to support it with some books for the time being. If you do decide to move with them, make sure they wrap everything & check minor details.

**Extremely Disappointed -- Wouldn't Recommend**…read more I used Orda Moving on June 27th and unfortunately had a terrible experience, despite being a returning customer. I had booked the move two weeks in advance and confirmed everything with Jake K., including start time, wardrobe boxes, and specific details like leaving clothes in my dresser. The morning of the move, the crew was over FIVE HOURS LATE -- I had to follow up twice just to get updates. At first, I was told they'd be there at 11 a.m., then 12:30-1 p.m., and they finally arrived at 2:45 p.m. I was later told this was because there were no trucks available, which makes me question how a moving company accepts a confirmed job without basic resources. The two movers who arrived were very young, clearly inexperienced, and completely unprofessional. There was a major language barrier, they didn't understand or follow basic requests, and I had to repeatedly remind them about things that were already in my original request -- like unmounting TVs and bringing in wardrobe boxes. When they did bring the boxes, they came without the hanging bars, and I was told the warehouse "ran out of materials." So I had to individually rehang all my clothes *while paying by the hour.* The movers also: * Took an hour-long break to go eat (after saying it would be 15-20 minutes) * Used my personal chargers -- one even dug into a packed box to find one * Taped boxes sloppily and stacked fragile items poorly * Asked inappropriate questions about personal belongings * Left scuff marks on my walls and floors * Tried to charge extra for my dresser, even though I had cleared that with Jake ahead of time * Seemed surprised/frustrated that my new place had stairs -- even though it was in my original move request To top it off, they didn't provide a breakdown of charges or have me sign anything before or after the move, which they had done on my previous moves. They initially tried to charge me $881 for 6+ hours of inefficient, unprofessional service, even though I had scheduled a 9 a.m. move to avoid traffic and parking issues -- which we ended up dealing with anyway, at 7 p.m. on a Friday. I had to argue for a discount and was told I was getting $131 off, but even that felt like a slap in the face. Someone from operations that I eventually got on the phone told me I had picked a "busy time of the month and week" -- as if they hadn't accepted my booking and confirmed it weeks prior. This experience was frustrating, exhausting, and totally unprofessional. I've used Orda before with better results, but this time was unacceptable. Poor communication, poor planning, and completely underqualified movers. I won't be using them again -- and I'd caution anyone else considering them to think twice.

The movers showed up on time and were very courteous. I did not have a big move and had friends to help. I opted to hire movers specifically because I needed help with the bigger furniture pieces and assembly, something that has never been an issue with any moving company I've hired in the past. I asked for the movers to set up my bed and sofa with instructions on how I wanted it while my friends and I helped with unloading the truck. Later that evening, I was extremely disappointed to find that they had not fully assembled my sofa, which was a pull out. All of the pieces were present as well as the owner's manual. It was frustrating that they did not assemble it, but even more frustrating that they did not bring it to my attention so that I could be involved to help resolve the issue. The sofa was clearly not fully assembled (not something that might have been overlooked)-- they slid the unassembled piece so that it was hidden and left it for me to find after they were gone. I understand if they are not able to figure out how to assemble it, but if it was part of the job that they were hired for, then they should bring it to attention if not able to complete the task for whatever reason. This was annoying, BUT the movers were good otherwise. The reason why this review is ONE star is due to the follow up from the company after. I sent a message expressing my frustration and disappointment that the movers had not completed assembly or brought it to my attention, and the moving company basically said that I did not say that I needed furniture assembled, and that was my fault for not disclosing I had a sofa bed, and that they would have charged more for that. I sent them their initial quote to me, which outlined that furniture assembly was included. They never asked me for a breakdown of furniture. And why would I tell you that I needed assembly if it was in your quote? No moving company has ever charged extra for this sofa bed (I've moved with it 3 times now). And the quote was supposed to be no extra fees. I said it was still unprofessional for them to leave / hide it and not let me know, and she said they were not aware (it was CLEARLY not assembled-- they knew). Never once did they offer an apology or acknowledge that there was anything done wrong on their end, they only argued with me and put blame on me (the customer) for something no other company has ever had an issue with. All I was looking for was acknowledgement, and left with a worst taste in my mouth. There are a ton of other moving companies other there. Please keep in mind when News Moving says NO EXTRA FEES, it does not mean no extra fees (they would have charged more for the sofa bed, per the representative). No other company has ever charged more for this. And News Moving will not fully stand up to everything in their quote. No other moving company I've used has ever fussed about assembling furniture. AND, most importantly, you should go with a company who cares about the satisfaction of their customers and takes ownership of their mistakes. News Moving company does not.
