I just used Rigos for a studio move across LA and I have to say this was the best moving experience I've ever had! I was nervous because I have a lot of fragile and valuable items like paintings, canvases, multiple monitors, a full desk setup, and art supplies that I've collected over years. Moving all of that is stressful no matter what but these guys made it genuinely easy. What stood out most was how attentive the team was from the very first minute. They walked in and immediately started asking questions about what needed special attention, how I wanted things wrapped, what order I wanted things loaded. They didn't just grab stuff and throw it on the truck, they actually listened and followed every instruction without me having to repeat myself. As an artist that meant everything to me because I've had movers in the past who treated my paintings like crap. The speed was also impressive!! I fully expected the move to take most of the day but they were efficient without ever feeling rushed or careless. They had a system and worked together well, I was able to finish up some work while they were doing their thing. When we got to the new studio nothing was damaged, nothing was missing, and everything was placed exactly where I asked. The whole experience from start to finish was smooth and professional. They started great! I was ready to give them 5 stars, but the ending has been so purely bad.. So they got to my bed, and first they broke a slat bringing it into the house from the truck. Then the movers decided to not disassemble it before bringing it up the stairs. They banged my walls quite a bit before realizing they'd need to disassemble it anyways. So they did, but when they put it back together they used power tools. I didn't know any better (although they, the professionals, should!), but apparently that's a big no-no because you can easily strip the wood, and that's exactly what they did. Also apparently they didn't put it back together properly because i found one of its bolts lying on the ground after they left, not sure where that goes. But ultimately the bed frame was damaged, and now i need a new bed frame. Randomly, they also damaged the sliders on one of my dresser drawers. Luckily my boyfriend was able to fix it, so I didnt need reimbursement, just adding to give a picture of their carelessness. The movers went back to their truck as I called their manager, Martha, about the damage. Martha quoted me their $0.60 per pound reimbursement policy for damaged property. But then offered me a $25 discount. I said $0.60 on a 216.5lbs bed is $129.90. She said the movers told her it was 150lbs. (they were ignoring the headboard and storage drawers, but if I have to replace the bed, I also lose the headboard and drawers??) so she offered $50, then $60. But the $0.60 per pound for the 150 lbs she *thought* it was is still $90... so these offers were dishonest on her part, and honestly a little insulting. The movers wouldn't leave until payment was processed, so after a particularly stressful phone call with her I processed payment with the $60 discount with the understanding that I would email their claims dept for the rest of the money back. I emailed saying I wanted the rest of the $69.90, and they offered $40 in return for a 5 star review. I'm not sure why they thought I would think them stiffing my request by almost 50% in exchange for a dishonest recounting of my experience was a fair deal... but I decided losing out on $40 was worth my honesty, and them getting the review they deserve. P.s. they tried to say because my bed was 10 years old, the overall condition would have been affected. So they tried to make me think them stripping the wood with power tools is an age issue, and not a them using power tools issue?? They did a great job. They finished by the time I needed. When I went to move again a year later, I almost used them again. However, I used someone less expensive, or so I thought. This review is specifically for the Rigos truck driver and delivery crew who delivered my things in North Carolina. I should caveat that the Los Angeles based crew who did my pick up and packing was truly exceptional - highly communicative, efficient, professional, kind, and simply the kind of movers you want handling your precious stuff. 5 star material. I've left that review separately. The North Carolina delivery crew was nothing of the sort. Ahead of arrival, the driver called me and asked me to confirm that the storage facility where they were going to deliver my things allowed parking for 18 wheelers. I called ahead to the facility who confirmed that 18 wheelers deliver all the time and the driver should have no problem. I told the driver this. The communication around delivery was also subpar - he told me Tuesday 2-4pm and when I texted on Tuesday morning to reconfirm, he texted back "sorry tomorrow." While I understand the change in plans was due to severe weather in the region, the communication around the change was not proactive and I had to shift my schedule multiple times to accommodate at the last minute because he did not say anything when he knew he'd be delayed. Upon arrival, he did not attempt to pull the truck into the storage facility lot but rather blocked a two lane high traffic road during rush hour, jumped out of the truck, and began aggressively saying that an 18 wheeler would not fit in the lot and that I had not told him the truth. There were two helpers who had shown up separately in their own cars - one of whom reeked of marijuana, could barely string together a full sentence when asked a question, and kept zooming around on a small skateboard. I went in and spoke to the on duty manager of the facility who once again told me that 18 wheelers deliver all the time and the truck driver simply did not know how to drive. It was certainly not a straightforward navigation, but ultimately there ended up being PLENTY OF SPACE and he managed to pull in just fine. He was clearly inexperienced in navigating an 18 wheeler, or he wanted to make it seem like he was doing me a favor by going to the trouble of simply doing his job. This entire process took about 30 minutes during which he continued to block a heavy traffic road. In the middle of it all, the driver called his boss Ana at Rigos and shifted the issue to being that the distance from the truck to the entry of the storage unit itself was more than 75 feet. I had been told that the measurement was from the truck offloading door to the entrance of the facility which was no more than ten feet after the driver learned to actually drive and parked correctly. Instead they used a measuring tool to find that the entrance to my unit was 177 feet from the truck, and that while the first 75 feet were free, there would additional charge for the other 102 feet at a rate of 75$ per 75 feet but without any pro rata option for the leftover 27 feet, so a total of $150 extra. My unit was on the first floor, my delivery comprised 30 boxes, one chair, and one bike (defined by the broker as a "mini move"), and the facility had carts to stack boxes and roll them easily to the unit - so easy, a young man who was stoned out of his mind could do it. At this point, I was ready for this nightmare to be over and simply agreed to pay the $150. As the young men rolled the carts to my unit, they repeatedly crashed them into corners and walls, thinking it was funny. My things are probably fine, but it was unprofessional and uncalled for. The entire actual move took 25 minutes max. At the end, the driver made it seem like he had done me a huge favor by parking the truck at the facility door so that the extra charges were minimized. I felt pressured to sign the papers because I was so flustered and upset, I felt pressured to agree to an extremely unfair $150 charge (frankly I could have moved the things myself and looking back I probably should have because it was that simple and straightforward), and I felt pressured to tip and give a good rating because I was forced to do the rating in front of him. I didn't have a chance to even count the boxes and confirm that everything was delivered. When the LA moving crew did their job, I was so surprised to see this low Yelp rating. Now I'm not so surprised. AVOID Rigos for anything outside the LA area. read more

I previously hired 3 movers for 3 hours to move items that were already packed into boxes into a moving truck. The movers finished in 2 hours because they were very efficient. The time, I hired 2 movers to move less items into the same sized moving truck, but one of these two movers was slow and lazy. I am a woman and am all for women's rights, but the woman mover did not want to move the heavier items leaving it only to the man who came. When she placed items onto the dolly, she moved one item at a time to the moving truck, instead of stacking more onto the dolly even when she had the room to do so. Towards the end, I had to stack her dolly for her in order for her to be more efficient. When I asked her to move the larger boxes first, she did so one time and when she came back, she went back to the smallest items again. I initially only booked them for 2 hours, but because of her laziness and inefficiency, I had to add on another hour to complete the job. As the male mover was arranging the boxes in the moving truck, I asked him to have the woman arrange the items since she was doing a horrible job at moving the boxes into the truck. He couldn't do that because she couldn't arrange the items in the truck either. So I basically paid for 1 mover for the price of 2. I ended up moving a lot of the items myself after they left. We were not as prepared as we hoped and they were happy to step in and help with packing of things like the tv and wrapping bigger furniture. We used relocubes, and their ability to jigsaw everything into them so I didn't have to use extra was stellar. They were very friendly and accommodating and made what could have been a very stressful cross country move a breeze. About 18 months ago I hired Rigo's at the last minute to move my stuff into an offsite storage unit I had reserved. The movers were scheduled for 10am but didn't show up until 5pm. Rigo's offered to provide a storage unit themselves, about $100 more per month than the one I had lined up. We definitely didn't get off to a great start. And yet, every time I needed to get in touch with them, Marta was always available. Honestly, the nicest and most professional customer service I've ever experienced. When it finally came time to retrieve my things a few days ago, I called them again at the very last minute. Marta came through and coordinated movers to load everything into the U-Haul I had rented. I didn't even have time to check their work. I just locked up the truck and hit the road. Here's the thing: I hate interstates. I love to explore. If I'm going to drive a thousand miles, I want it to be scenic. Without really thinking about the fact I was hauling all my stuff, I ended up on hundred-mile stretches of rough roads, the truck bouncing all over the place. I tried not to imagine what was happening in the back. Today, when I arrived and finally opened the truck, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Everything was perfectly organized, wrapped, and secured with ropes tied in knots I hadn't seen since Boy Scouts. Not a single thing had shifted, and the furniture was positioned so nothing rubbed or scratched against each other. A little pricey. A little chaotic. I hired Rigo's Moving using their 2 man/2 hour special. I had everything prepared and ready to load and my only concerns were if they would arrive promptly and work quickly. I was not disappointed. The guys arrived exactly on time...super prompt. They quickly came inside to assess the situation then immediately got to work moving all my items. They even shrink wrapped some of the items. When we reached our destination they were a little late due to traffic but totally made up the time by quickly unloading all the items. Everything arrived in good shape. My packers were set to arrive btwn 8am and 9am, they were on site ready to start packing at 0730. I was afraid there would not be room in the POD for all my belongings these gentlemen got everything I wanted to go in with left over room soI quickly grabbed more items and they were done in 2 hours! Rigo's was a subcontractor hired by Safe Ship. Neither company is worth your money. My $12,000 dollar shipment was screwed over when Rigo's stole two vital items. A diamond ring and my father's WWII medal. In addition, when they delivered days later, my leather sofa sleeper frame was broken when they delivered it, as well as the legs on my dining room table. They were careless in how they stacked boxea, even with labels saying this side up! I asked for compensation, but they only offered 700 IF I removed my first intial negative review. I will continue calling them out until remedies are made. Be careful with subcontractors, and do not consider this company. It's been a year and nothing has been remedied. I lost two pieces of furnitue, still sitting in my garage, and valuable items such as my father's medal and the diamond ring. Rigo's is listed as a licensed, insured/bonded, which is one of the reason we chose them and were willing to pay premium hourly rates. The issue we encountered -We had a 75 inch TV wrapped, loaded, unloaded, and setup in our new place by the movers. A few hours after they completed the job, we turned on the TV and the screen was broken. It appeared to have been bumped at the top left corner. We contacted Rigo's Moving same day and we were asked to send an email to their claims email address. Odd thing, I was never asked to fill out any sort if claim form. A couple days later, in an email response, they state that the issue was very complex and they would not take responsibility because they did not check the tv before wrapping therefore it could have been damaged before they moved it. They went on to inform me that the insurance they carry covers items by weight so they could only offer me $30 as a "courtesy discount". Again very strange how they conduct business - under insured and how they handle customer issues. They don't seem to value customers. I'm surprised that they are still in business. The information you provided is not accurate. One mover spoke no English the other one had to translate. The one that did speak English had to use the translator on his phone for some of the communication. All my things were packed and labeled and neatly stacked. I provided them with two moving pads and blankets for the furniture. I never refused to purchase more shrink wrap. They didn't use all the wrap from the roll. I still have it. I would have gladly have purchased more if they would have used all the shrink wrap from the first roll. I was offered $50 in the text message and I responded that I would take it. I never got another response. If they have expertise packing a POD they sure don't show it. I've had a POD packed before and it was not done like that. The couch being shoved in at an angle and a wicker rocker being turned upside down and shoved in and at the end things just being solved in any crevice and not being covered. I take offense as a paying customer to indirectly being called a liar! Bad business! One positive note, Martha was professional and polite and pleasure to communicate with. That's the only positive. If someone still wants to give me the $50, I'll take it. But someone needs to contact me as I was never given any information how to move forward with the refund. read more

Shady practices & they treat their workers terribly! The workers were great & very hard working but this company SUCKS! I asked for 4 movers & only got 2. I had a 2 stop move - first to storage then to the residence. I paid for an all inclusive move and had packed at least 80% of the boxes myself but Martha wanted to charge me for packing materials which were supposed to be included. The workers were very conscientious and didn't seem to take breaks. They came from LA and arrived in Monterey at 7:00 AM (a minimum of about 6 hours drive). The van was loaded by 5:00 pm and it was a 2 hour drive to the Bay Area location. It wasn't until 11:30 PM that the storage unit was loaded and at that point the movers had been on the job for 22 1/2 hours. It was too late to unload the items for the residence and Rigo's Moving had not even booked overnight accommodations for the poor workers! I was told I had to Zelle $500.00 because she couldn't process a credit card over the weekend to get the rest of my belongings delivered to my house by Martha!!! It was an All-Inclusive move. The movers were supposed to deliver the remaining contents to the house at 7:00 AM but Martha wouldn't allow me to get the rest of my items unless I paid the ransom. At midnight the movers still did not have a hotel so my friends and I found one in the area that was open and had a room available. At this point I did not trust Martha to come through so I put the room on my credit card so these poor workers could get dinner & some thing to eat and some sleep. Then after I got them checked in, she called at 12:30 pm to say she found a hotel for them. It was too late they were already checked in. She said she would deduct that from the $500.00 extra charge. I had been lied to a few times already and I told her I could only pay by charge card. She had told me she would only allow them to finish the delivery if I paid her and charged me $309.00 (she said she deducted the room) which I should have NEVER been charged in the first place. The moving broker, Imoving.com spoke with her on Monday and she reversed the $309.00 but stiffed me on the hotel charge if $139.00. Overall it was a horrible experience and much more stressful than if I had gone with a regular reputable company. This place treats there workers terribly and I give Rigo's Moving Company a Zero rating because of their shady practices. Don't use them! read more

PODs gave me a difficult time over placing their shipping container in front of my apartment and ended up placing it almost 2 blocks away from where I lived. Angel and Jacob from Rigo's Moving and Storage helped me move my 2-bedroom apartment into the container within 2 hours. My apartment building does not have an elevator, the container was super far from my apartment, but I heard zero complaints from these guys. SAVE YOUR BACK!! These guys we're AMAZING! Had 3 guys (sorry I didn't get their names) for 2 hours to fill a 16' container. They were able to fill it expertly, loading and securing it with ropes. They plastic wrapped standing storage cabinets and moved them with no problem. They helped move a couple of items inside the garage so I didn't have to. They did in 2 hours what would have taken us 2 days and packed the container better than we could have. HIGHLY recommend these guys. I will be calling them back once the storage container is delivered to new house to have them unload. I recommend 3 guys so that 2 can move the boxes and furniture and stage it for the 1 guy that is loading the container. read more

They put me in a lot of pressure since I had a limited time to use the elevator and I had to be on the phone for 1 hour begging the manager to let me use the elevator! When they came, they were so in rush to just finish asap and go home before 2 hours reservation! I got 16" truck to make sure there is plenty of room for my stuff and avoid damages and scratches! Def felt SCAMMED when it was all said and done. First, I booked for 2pm and they kept trying to force me to change to an earlier time and calling over and over because their movers wanted to finish sooner. They said 3 hours would be enough then the day of the move say it's going to take 8 hours. Their addition hour price was the most expensive of the options but had a deal for the 3 hours to lure you in. Also, The woman kept telling hireAhelper that I agreed to add X amount of hours each time and I never did. I said 1-2 hours and she told them 4 which was never discussed. When Rigo's arrived, their guy on site Mario lied to us, saying we in fact had 1,400 square feet to move, a huge increase in cost and our expectation. To help mediate the situation, we ended up getting rid of tons of our stuff!! That we otherwise would have loved to bring with us (this was a cross country move), very upsetting, and still!! He ended up charging us for 1,350 square feet. Extremely stressful and disparaging ordeal, but we moved forward with everything, unsure how we could verify how much we actually had. Then, at some point down the line of the delivery, Rigo's sold off our delivery (without telling us!!) to another company, since their trucks couldn't fit down our street, and we were charged another 700$ additional for them to move our stuff to a smaller shuttle for delivery. (!!) Well, well, well.. this proved extremely interesting because all of our stuff arrived on a truck that had 800 SQFT CAPACITY - and our stuff was estimated by our new movers to be only 700 SQFT - RIGOS LIED AND LITERALLY CHARGED US DOUBLE THEIR SQFT RATE FOR THIS MOVE. An egregious error. We have been able to recoup some of our funds from them - since actually being able to prove the quote was so off, - but not all!! We are still $1,000 out + plus $700 shuttle fee + losing out on 200 sqft of our stuff we could have brought if we weren't scammed in the first place. You simply cannot trust what they will try to quote you. The trucks are meant to have markers that show space taken up, so if you have any reservations, id try to get as much proof from them as possible that they are being honest with you. Or better yet, go with someone else, like Golan's Moving and Storage. If Rigo's had quoted appropriately, none of this would have ever been an issue, we could have had a nice move, and it would have saved us a hell of a lot of stress. ‍‍‍ read more

Rigo's Moving moved furniture from Northridge to Pasadena for us. The did a great job. They showed up on time, worked quickly, efficiently and carefully. Trusting movers with your things can be nerve wracking. I am very glad we found Rigo's. read more

We hired this company through PODS and thought it would be good. There were lots of miscommunications and misunderstanding in terms of what we thought we were getting and what was offered. They claim they have packing services and the movers came and didn't have any supplies. We had to run to Home Depot 3 times during the move to get boxes. Unbelievable. The items that were requested by me three times were forgotten and had to be brought by the office. You have to pay for every single piece of packing material and they don't give you your money back for what wasn't used. Like we know EXACTLY how many boxes, bubble wrap rolls, packing tapes are needed in advance? And they don't bring anything extra and don't take back what you don't use. We paid $50 for a TV box that we didn't use and that didn't even include protection for the TV. We had to use our own blankets since there was nothing provided. They don't even understand their own services they offer. read more

To start, this is not a review of my movers. They did a great job! However, management of this company could use a lot of work. I suggest you only book them if you have the whole day open for unanticipated changes. To start, I booked a move 3 weeks in advance. I don't think they knew, but I was a returning customer, as I had also used Rigo's in 2020 and had a great experience so booked again. However, the night before, I get a call requesting to move my time from 9-10 to 7-8 because "it's getting hot early now". Yes sure, but I imagine they are booked throughout the entire summer and not just early morning. I compromised and agreed on 8. About an hour later, I get a call back that they had a crew member call out and so they needed to do 10-11 instead. Again, I was a little frustrated with the back and forth, but appreciated the heads up as there are often circumstances out of their control. However, I get ready for my move at 10a and receive no call or update by 11:15a. I call the office, and I am now told 3-4p due to a delay with their first job. Again, I tried to be understanding and know things can change, but that is a 4 hour difference with no notice until I reached out to them. Again, quite unprofessional. By 4:15, I'm sure you can guess what happened. Again, I am sitting with no update. I call the office and it goes straight to voicemail. I call on another number and they pick up right away (are they blocking my calls?). They try to contact the movers and don't get an answer. I try to cancel the service, but they don't let me and say they will call back in 10 min. In 15 min they call back and say their new time is 6-7p. Of course, this is unacceptable and I state that I need a discount or some sort of accommodation, as I have wasted my entire day in a packed up apartment waiting. I am eventually offered $50 off (that I had to request twice via email) and "unlimited plastic wrap" for the move. But to make this even more ridiculous, they state they have to bring a third mover on the job (that I did not originally request) for an extra $100 per hour because he was already with the crew. Of course, I stated they would have to complete the job without him, because even with my $50 discount, this would result in me paying more, which makes absolutely no sense. As I stated initially, the movers ended up doing a great job and were very polite, but my experience with the incompetent management of this company will have me looking elsewhere the next time that I move. read more
