My family and I briefly checked out Danish Mill Bakery just to see what they offered in comparison to the other bakeries in town. Upon entering, we realized how hot it was inside - like uncomfortably hot to the point where I got overwhelmed and just needed to get out of the shop. Before I did, I bought 2 packs of their Danish Haribo gummies that I had never seen or heard of before - we brought them back for a friend of ours who loves Haribo! I also noticed their massive glass counter display of Danish pastries - they looked amazing! We didn't buy anything from them since I was in a hurry to get outside, but man...did they look tasty! I did notice that they had a nice seating area in the back to enjoy your items - that is, if you can stand the heat. Staff at the counter and register were super friendly! I would definitely come back next time I am in Solvang and brave the warmth to try their pastries! Check them out!

What a cute bakery!!! And lots 2 choose from!!! There's tables inside & outside 2 enjoy your snackies!!! Service was great, got helped right away despite my sister cutting the line (Hahahha)!!! I got a lemon cheese danish & a butter cookie w/ sprinkles!! Delish!!! I loved all the different fruit flavors of the pastries such as guava, pineapple, & apricot!!! Great job!!

Danish Kringle (yummy) Chocolate truffle (disappointing)

The Danish Kringle was pretty tasty but the chocolate truffle was disappointing They do have a small area in the back to eat but you have to pay a tip to eat there and order it to eat in. I found that a little strange for a bakery

Lots of baked goodies with almond! I wanted to grab so much, but luckily before I got in line to order, our table for brunch was ready so we stopped by the bakery again after our meal. I tried to be reasonable since some of the things I was eyeing does not travel well on the 3+ hour drive we have going home, so I settled on a bear claw ($4.95), Kringle slice ($4.50), and almond mazarin ($4.95). Everything tasted so good! The pastries were flaky and full of flavor. Find free parking within walking distance in a nearby lot. Walk off the sugar rush from consuming the pastries as you explore Solvang.

Excellent selection of tasty treats. The cinnamon crisp is a sublime mix of a churro and a croissant. We visited at the low tourist season so service was a breeze. More of an urban atmosphere than kitchy. They had some cute animatronics out front which is very popular among the bakeries here.

The best price for pastries, $4.95 for pastry in February 2026! All the baked goods looked super tasty, hard to choose. Got the Guava cheese danish pastry was delicious, the flakey dough was a little bit salty, so go for just the regular fruit option. The line does get busy mid day, but moves quickly. The store was clean, and there are couple table in the back to enjoy your pastry. Overall, a great place to stop and get all your pastries.

This bakery looks as it appears, welcoming and busy. It's non stop and I tasted the reason why. If you are visiting Solvang, the Danish Mill Bakery is a must stop. I highly recommend trying the Apple Fritter. It's deliciously soft, the flavor is just magical!! I only had "one bite and I'm done" in mind but, I ate half of this delightful loaf. They also offer hot or iced coffee, lattes, etc.. This is a cute bakery. Don't forget to check out the mechanical bakers in the front! :)

Danish Mill Bakery - Solvang A true Solvang gem Danish Mill Bakery is a historic, family-owned bakery, and you can feel the tradition the moment you walk in. I had the guava cheese Danish, my husband enjoyed the raspberry cheese, and my friend had the blueberry cheese all three were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Perfect balance of sweetness and texture. This bakery has roots tracing back to Copenhagen and a legacy of baking even for Danish royalty, which makes the experience feel extra special. They're known for authentic Danish pastries like kringle and aebleskiver, crafted by Danish-educated pastry chefs, blending classic recipes with a modern touch. The place is spotless also the good service and the decor is cute and adorable I loved the window decorations and the little birds outside such a cozy, welcoming vibe. You can truly taste the history, care, and passion here. A must-visit in Solvang

Can we talk about how cute little chefs are in the window?! And we got there at the perfect time before the line was out the door. Everything was baked to perfection. The Kringle was DEVINE and I wasn't sharing. Only thing missing was a cup of coffee to complete the perfection. But after all it's Solvang and you need to pace yourself for all the eating.

Behind every wonderful bakery is a baker with a vision and a heart full of passion. Let's delve into this sweet danish review. Danish Mill Bakery (est 1960) is an iconic bakery in Solvang that offers traditional Danish pastries, cookies, and coffee. A must-visit for authentic flavours and a cozy, Danish-inspired atmosphere. I walked-in just to ogle at their pastries, however, temptation was too strong. So I decided to give my nascent relationship with sweets another chance. I had TWO truffles, a classic and dark martini; each cost $1.75 USD. It's very good, bloody amazing! Service was fast. Female staff was professional. Atmosphere was chill. Layout was spacious. Prices were on the high end. Parking was abundant. Collectively, this is a good Danish bakery. Overall, I had a good experience and utterly enjoyed my truffles. I recommend you visit.

The best I ever had!

The best we've ever had--truly worth the wait. We've been craving these pastries for ages, and somehow they're just as delightful as we remembered. Naturally, we went all in and tried a bit of everything. Tonight is all about indulgence--no rules, no restraint, just pure enjoyment. Consider this your sign to give in to your sweetest cravings... unapologetically.

Absolutely fabulous Danish Krinkle. Gotta like almond to enjoy this bad boy, but if you do, be prepared for a whole lot of deliciousness.

I asked her what it was but mispronounced the name. She smilled & politely corrected me then told me what it was. The guy behind us in line told us it was amazing so we ordered it. My hubby got yhr Arabic coffee (made in sand) I got a salted Carmel latte. It cost $44. The Kunafa was absolutely to die for! We shared 1 & in thankful because it's too much for me. The sweet sauce with the salty cheese & crunch of the philo are a perfect combination. Our coffee was strong, just how we like it. We had great service & food. Definitely coming back for icecream. My only suggestion is maybe a sign by the road that you're open late.

Cafe Dolce offers breakfast and lunch items, acai bowls, drinks, and more. They also have a huge selection of Lebanese Baklawa, as well as ice cream. They serve a variety of McConnell's ice creams, as well as an additional case of flavors. I noticed they have a baklava gelato, so I decided to get this! It was pretty good, but I will say the prices are a bit steep for the amount of gelato I received. Fun to try this unique flavor regardless!

I hadn't tried aebleskiver before so I have no point of comparison, but it was a little ball of dough with jam and powdered sugar. I ordered 3 which was plenty to split with my boyfriend just to get a taste of it. It's personally not my favorite since I think I would prefer a slightly crispier fried dough ball but I'm guessing that would be less authentic. I was glad to try it out so easily! The service was quick. It would have been nice if there were some seating outside--there were 2 benches, but it was pretty limited. It made a lot of sense why everyone was walking around with it!

Since the window wasn't open yet when we got there, we went inside to order the Æbleskiver at the counter. An order comes with three balls with raspberry jam and powdered sugar. If you order it to-go, it comes in a little paper boat. The Æbleskiver have a pancake-like texture, and the jam and powdered sugar give it a nice sweetness. I just wish there was a little more jam to go with it! Fun to try, and I liked that an order comes with just three pieces, so it's just enough to sample!

I was in here on a Friday a little after 6pm and no one was in here. I asked one of the young women working here what time they closed and she told me 6:30pm. I then went to check out their back area and oh my they had quite an assortment of Dutch licorice, I was in heaven! I like salty licorice, less sweet and more salty with a good licorice bite and also found one of the brands I really like. I also tried another I did know, just to see what it was like. The brand I am used to I am saving for later as I know what it tastes like. The new brand I got is a bit more sweet than I like but I still like it and it was good I tried it. This is a great shop if youre looking for Dutch style licorice. They also have plenty of award winning chocolates too and a lot of people showed up after I entered and all ordering their chocolates. Id come back here again when in town!
