I've been to DANJI in Buford several times now... Every dish I've ordered has been great EXCEPT for their actual fried chicken plate with potatoes... Not a fan and very hard to eat. My favorite dish they have is their OMURICE, you can get it with whatever protein you'd like but I typically get the beef bulgogi or the first picture you see here, the TON KATSU OMURICE. You basically get whatever delicious protein you want with fried rice that is covered with a thin layer of eggs (kind of like an omelette) with a side of cream corn and a salad. Their BULGOGI FRIES are definitely a favorite (enough to share with 4 people) and their fried dumplings are very tasty. They have these RICE BALLS which I'm a huge fan of, I ask for mine fried TUNA. Think sushi but rolled up into a ball with sauce You can get regular sushi if you'd like as well. Their ramen is DELICIOUS but I made the mistake of ordering DANJI RAMEN with chicken because it was WAY too spicy for me... It had two little and their max on their menu is 4 , I figured I'd be fine... NOPE I still finished it but I suffered the entire way through. Food always comes out quick and the staff is friendly. Some nights I grab my own refills and some nights they come and refill your drinks for you, I don't mind either way. Danji is a fun spot because they are in the middle of busy Buford right around from the Mall of Georgia but they don't get too ridiculously busy. Good food at reasonable prices with spacious tables for big groups makes this a fun stop for any occasion. If you go just be careful with your spicy level, don't be fooled!!! This use to be my favorite place to visit but recently the service and servicer has changed for the worst. Servers used to be nice and would remember loyal customers and what they wanted to order upon return. The new staff is rude and seem stressed! They need to remember who kept the doors open during this pandemic...the customers. I went to order fried rice and asked for no eggs as I always do and was told that they couldn't cook the order without eggs. They waitress said the new ownership says the eggs have to be made in the rice. I have never heard of fried rice not being made to order and removing the eggs not being an option. Also, if you place a to go order for pickup prepare to wait 45mins. If it is indeed new ownership they are ruining this place!!! read more

I am someone who never complains unless it needs to be. Just left this place super upset with a bitter taste in my mouth. We were trying to have a family dinner with my kids and ended up leaving disappointed. After this evening I will NOT be coming back. I order cheese tteokbokki and bulgogi fried rice and paid $40+ for these 2 orders. Then watching the young Korean server girl and young Korean server boy flirt with each was disgusting which they should do after hours or at least not in front of the customers. If they have time to play maybe they should check on the customers at their table to see if anyone needs a refill on their drinks and how their food is tasting which is common sense especially if you are asking to be tipped upon ordering. Coming from a family owed restaurant business for over 40 years and a hospitality degree customer service is definitely a plus for me. The cheese tteokbokki came out looking good, but we were trying to pace ourselves so we can eat it with our bulgogi fried rice. A young couple comes in 10 minutes or so after we been served our cheese tteokbokki but as soon as they sit down they get served a bulgogi fried rice. Thinking to myself did that young Korean server girl give our food away. So I follow her up to the counter and asked if our bulgogi fried rice was coming as we haven't gotten it yet and she said they are still making it. Tell me how the young couple next to us got a bulgogi fried rice when they just placed an order and now got to their seat???? By now the cheese tteokbokki is getting cold and my kids are asking about the bulgogi fried rice. Waiting another 10 min or more the young Korean server girl brings out the bulgogi fried rice and says I am sorry as this is going to fix my meal. I asked her for a box since now why would I want to eat the bulgogi fried rice with my cold cheese tteokbokki. Isn't it basic 101 to bring out customer's food at the same time or try to serve around the same time and not one 1st and then serve me the rest 30 minutes later. Then yet serve someone who just walked in the same food and tell me mine is still being worked on. Thank you but no thank you. It's one thing if the place is super busy which I would understand but it is not ok if the 2 severs have time flirting with each other but yet I paid $40+ for 2 plate of food that I couldn't even enjoy. Danji is not afraid of packing in the flavor. Their Danji kimbaps are my comfort food, but this tofu fried rice was so rich. It was spot on with the savory that oil and the two sauces brought out. Even though there were only three pieces of tofu (I wish there were 4), each bite felt right. The crunch and sweetness from the sauces on the outside did well to complement the spongy nature of the tofu chunk. One thing I will say about the rice was that it was a lot of just that; there needed to be more vegetables in the dish, so that I didn't feel like I was only eating yummy-tasting rice. It's texture was perfect though; I could easily eat the rice with chopsticks without it being excessively sticky or mushy. Would highly recommend Danji. read more

I came here with my boyfriend and his family for lunch. Danji serves Korean fusion food, and is quite popular in the area. They were crowded, and we even had a short wait. I love that the food is ample, and the prices are really reasonable. Service was really friendly, too! I killed my meal, and I don't know how because it looks like a meal for two. I got the spicy chicken, and my boyfriend got the chicken bulgogi. Both were really good with a ton of rice and a really healthy amount of protein, too. I was glad to find parking, because this place is near the mall, and everywhere is crowded. I really wanted to try the fries, but no one else wanted them, so maybe next time. The only thing I didn't like was the booths, because they were so hard. My butt was hurting, since we were there two hours. Other than that, service and food were great! I definitely think this is a great choice for a quick meal, and go when you're really hungry because the portion sizes are huge. We will definitely be back again soon! read more

I ordered from Door Dash This was a great takeout experience. The packaging was great. I ordered the Dduk Bok Ki which can be a rather messy dish to order to go. The way they packaged it minimized the mess and kept it warm. The flavor was amazing. If you're not a fan of spicy food this is not the dish for you. I loved it. I ordered added an egg, there were two. There was plenty of cheese on top and the sauce was delicious! The Korean BBQ pork fried rice was also great. We also ordered the sweet soy garlic boneless chicken. It was also delicious. The potatoes were hard but the chicken was great! I got what I usually get the DonKatsu omirice. Wow I was sad because what happened to the quality of the DonKatsu? I seemed like I was not too fresh or something but it fell short of what I was expecting. My friend got the boneless chicken Andy he taste was alright and good but then somehow she got food poisoning and threw up all evening and is was her first time there too per my recommendation. What an experience! We were welcomed upon walking in and seated immediately (always a good sign of fast service). This place reminds me of Thank U Chicken. I believe the owners are the same, but I could be wrong. We ordered the Danji Ramen with bulgogi and Bulgogi Omurice. The presentation of the food and the freshness was all there. Truly loved the taste of the Omurice! So different and flavorful! The only reason I am giving this a 4-star is because the ramen was way too salty for my taste, and the bulgogi in my ramen and platter was not that great. The fried chicken and potatoes is very good, but the few times I've been the rest of the food is mediocre. They also put the sweet mayonnaise on a lot of stuff (the rice pop and the salad), and it's not good. Would be nice had it been on the menu so I could have ordered it without. The fried rice is just okay and tends to have a lot of egg. Sometimes dishes stay on the table for a while after customers leave. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, decor and establishment is modern and "hip" The tuna kimbab is filled with great portion of tuna and the egg has a slight sweet flavor which mixes well with the contents of the kimbab. Delicious. The tonkatsu is really good. Really nice design and attention to detail for how the sauce is laid out. Flavorful and good. The side dishes that comes with it, are well made and tasty. My ONLY dislike is the corn, carrot and green bean on top of the pork cutlet. It seems cheap and doesn't do much for the dish. Lastly, the spicy rice cakes (tteokbukgi) is so good. The rice cakes almost feel like mochi, very soft and just the right level of chewy-ness. The regular heat level is nice and a good amount of heat with plenty of rich taste. This area doesn't have a lot of Korean restaurants, but this is an excellent one to try to be exposed to Korean 'bunshik' food. Good service, good people, and excellent atmosphere. read more

I'm so happy that this place is opened!! I love korean street food type restaurant a lot and this place definitely worth to be in my top 3. Their fried drum sticks are always juicy and delicious, my favorite flavor is the soy garlic, I know it will never get any wrong with that flavor. The rice taste awesome, although it's a little bit spicy, but it's a type of spicy that even people like me who can't eat spicy at all can handle it. The only thing I feel disappointed is other than the wings and drum sticks, the chicken Brest and other parts are kinda dry. Hope it can get better someday. Definitely will go again! read more

I've driven past this place nearly every day, and always wanted to try it. When I walked in, it felt rather unwelcoming. Perhaps it was the automated digital greeting the door triggered, or the fact that there was only one other couple in the restaurant. I did like that they were playing Korean music videos on the tv. The atmosphere was just not as nice as I envisioned. Service wasn't as terrible as some of the other reviews mentioned. However, we did have to summon a server to get our order placed. There are electronic buttons in each booth to summon staff. It's just not very obvious that they were for that purpose. Plus, I'm spoiled by good service in most of my outings. I ordered hot stone bbq chicken fried rice, and my wife ordered hot stone steak fried rice. Her food arrived about 5 minutes before mine. Both were delivered very hot, and were large servings. I personally liked the taste of mine, but my wife felt hers was too sweet. Still, the less than friendly atmosphere was noticeable, and played a role in our experience. All in all, I think to food was worth the price. I just didn't enjoy the visit enough to return. read more

I've been waiting for this place to open for awhile now so was excited to try it out for lunch. For $10.99, you can get a chicken + fried rice combo. We got the 4pc drumstick in soy garlic sauce. The meal came with a small salad and a fried potato cake. 2 of the drumsticks were huge and 2 were regular-sized drumsticks. You actually get a lot for the money. The fried rice was well seasoned but it was extremely greasy. For $3.99, you can get a Danji kimbob - carrot, pickled radish, egg, and fish cake all rolled up in rice and Nori (think sushi roll with no raw fish). Good, but I would've preferred it to have been rolled a bit tighter. For $7.99, you can get a piping hot bowl of Danji udon - udon with fish balls, bok choy, bean sprouts, and a healthy sprinkling of nori. This was a very generous bowl of udon but I found the soup a bit on the bland side. Service was impeccable. Nice addition to the mall area and will give this another shot but it's definitely not a must-go for me. read more

I love their kimbap and omurice. Super tasty, and I always have leftovers. The food they serve is more street food style, so the flavors definitely cater to more people. I really do wish that they had bibimbap and more traditional Korean foods. The only other Korean restaurants in Buford currently are Korean BBQ restaurants, so Danji definitely fulfills a niche in the community. Restaurant is very clean, and everything is neat. It's an asian establishment, so they try not to bother you while you eat. Decided try this place out today for lunch. For a Sunday surprisingly not crowded or busy but definitely had a steady stream of people coming in and out. We ordered the following - regular tteokbboki - kids meal chicken and fries - lunch special with waffles, wings (sweet chili) - lunch special with fried rice, drum sticks (honey bbq) - lunch special with fried rice, drum stick (extreme spicy sweet chili) Tteokbboki was ok. Our plate was mostly fish cake and no rice cakes (the tteok in tteokbboki) but the table across from us had an abundance so the pour isn't consistent. Also the plate was mostly sauce which was very watery. Overall taste wasn't bad but wasn't something I would rave about. The kids meal was just typical fried chicken pieces and fries which were fresh so that was a big bonus. The lunch combos are pretty good value. The portions are big, enough for 2 people to share. The salad was fresh and delicious. The dressing wasn't overpowering which was nice. The chicken was fried and coated well in the sauce. The sweet chili is ok, honey bbq was fine too. When we asked for extreme spicy sweet chili, the waitress gave us a warning that if it's too hot, they won't take it back and we wouldn't get a refund. The sauce was not spicy at all. Maybe if you REALLY can't take spicy food, ok but honestly we didn't even get sniffly noses. The fried rice was pretty basic. The little cheese corn tasted a little off and bland. Also all of our food came out at different times so some of us had to wait longer for our food which was unfortunate Overall they get a big plus for freshness and portions.
