7 years since I first tried this place. My 3 star review then was on point. Service- awful, building- filthy. And folks if anyone thinks they are feeding you Waygu you are crazy. The banner on the outside says 26.00, the menu says 31 and for so called wagyu section 41.00 when you ask about the banner they have no clue what you're talking about. It got busy and our server disappeared for a good amount of time during our stay. Sushi chef came to assist wherever needed. The employees are nice here but the service is lacking. Q Korean Steak House has halal Wagyu options, so this is a great place to come to for Halal Korean BBQ in this area. It is not a pricy as other halal Korean bbq, but your options are more limited here. We have tried the halal Wagyu brisket, halal beef bulgogi and the halal fillet and were not disappointed. We have come during peak dinner time hours during the week and have never had to wait for a table, which is nice! Definitely recommend Q for anyone looking to try Korean bbq and eats only halal meat. read more

Came here for lunch after working out with a buddy who loves Korean BBQ. This is a hidden gem. Set back from the main roads, it would be difficult to see this spot without knowing about it previously. We were seated and Hermela greeted us and made sure we had no questions. Got our drinks and we placed an order for two different meats and 3 premium sides. We went with corn cheese, Kim chee fried rice, and Korean fried chicken (4 giant pieces per order). The banchon provided was absolutely delicious. We destroyed lunch. Can't eat as much as we used to, but the highlights were by far the LA Galbi, the salad with sweet and spicy dressing, soy pickled cucumbers, and Kim chee daikon. They have fountain drinks, so refills are covered (as far as we know). Hermela was amazing and made sure we didn't need anything else. Provided some insight into how the crowds usually come. I'm not in Cumming often, but if I am, I would probably stop by Q Korean Steak House again. After a busy day at the outlets, we passed through Cumming on the way back to Atlanta and made a swift detour to Q Korean Steak House. It's not the best Korean bbq in Atlanta, by any means, but I think I was just hungry and impressed with finding any sort of Korean food in Cumming altogether. It wasn't busy when we got there after 9pm on a Saturday, which is understandable, but they ARE supposed to be open until 11pm. AYCE Korean BBQ menu has a 2 hour time limit. Fine by me because I really can't eat as much as I used to. It was also 9pm so... I really liked the selection of side dishes on the AYCE menu. They aren't usually what you find at the traditional Korean BBQ menu in Duluth so I was intrigued. Some were better than others but I really enjoyed the deep fried dumplings and the beef & daikon soup. You can even order bibimbap, although kbbq pros know you shouldn't order more than one serving because it will fill you up Meat quality was a-ok. I wasn't mind blown but my Korean bbq cravings were satisfied by the brisket and bulgogi. There are plenty of meat options to choose from aside from those, as well. Overall, I was NOT mad at this meal at all. The AYCE was $27 (Nov 2021). After tax and tip, it came out to about $40pp (includes splitting a $13 bottle of flavored soju) which was a STEAL. The price has gone up in the past few years of course, but it looks like the current menu shows $31 for the lower tier AYCE menu versus the $25 we had paid. When I'm on the way to or back from North Georgia, Q Korean Steakhouse is on my current restaurant rotation. read more

There is a gorgeous map of America as soon as you walk in that warms your heart up from the start. I highly recommend trying one of their korean beers ! We were driving past and saw the banner for the revolving sushi bar that Q Korean BBQ - they just added it a few weeks ago. Went there for dinner that night and it was great! It's not just that they had good sushi at a nice AYCE price. You sit at the sushi bar so you get to interact with the chef. We were offered items that were off-menu, and had a great time chatting with the chef. We told him the types of sushi that we prefer and just let him feed us his suggestions. For the AYCE, you can get just sushi, just BBQ, or a combination of both. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The sushi wasn't what you typically see in AYCE situation - very generous proportions of fish/rice. Over all, we enjoyed the food and the experience, and will certainly be back. read more

Me and my friends came here after work for dinner because we were in the mood for some Korean food nearby. The day that we came didn't seem that busy. There were about 5 tables including us. The waitress was nice but seemed like she had too much on her plate. She kinda left us for a long amount of time. So long, that our metal grill plate was burning and smoking from the sauce from one of our meats being cooked. We figured they she must have been the cook as well that night since the next time we saw her she was bringing out our sides which was overcooked and cool. Needless to say, our sides were not good at all. Overcooked, salty, and cold. The meat was mediocre. We had to ask her to change our grill plates every time we cooked another form of protein like shrimp, pork, and beef. I think they get business for being the only Korean bbq in Cumming. I don't think I'll be back. I'd rather drive a little further to eat better quality Korean bbq. read more

This was my 4th visit to Q BBQ, and honestly, I lost my appetite this time and won't be coming back. The server wore the same pair of gloves the entire time -- I watched him serve raw meat, change the grill plate, clear dirty dishes, then serve hot food, soup, and even fruit, all without changing gloves. He didn't seem to realize the cross-contamination at all. The meat quality was also disappointing, and for a table of six, a 25% service charge was automatically added. Highly recommend BBQ 9292 instead -- not only is their meat excellent, but their staff is also very clean and professional. My friend and I dined here on our way back from visiting a couple of North Georgia wineries. We had barely eaten all day so indulging in a huge meaty meal seemed to be the obvious choice after an afternoon of day-drinking. Q Korean Steak House wins! We arrived around 8pm Saturday night and were seated immediately. The menu here is easy - ACYE for dinner, $29.95. For the price, you have your options from the Korean table Spread with specialties such as kimchi, lettuce wraps, steamed rice, daikon soup, and a few sauces. A variety of banchan is placed on your table so don't worry about ordering those. For the grill, choose between a variety of chicken options, seafood (shrimp), seasonal vegetables, beef, and pork. My friend and I chose mostly beef options, trying the Q Steak, Spicy BBQ Steak, NY Strip, Brisket, and Filet Mignon. All of the beef options were fairly delicious but some were a bit salty. We tried one pork dish - the spicy pork belly - it's not the best pork belly I've ever had, but it gets the job done. Order the vegetables! You'll probably only need one; they are very generous with their vegetable servings. I was also curious about the Yangpoon Bibimbap based on the menu description but the server warned it's pretty basic and not worth ordering. We listened. Also, Korean deep fried dumplings are always delicious in my mind, and these are no exception. Order them! Their beers are pretty cheap - domestic bottles for mostly $5 and draft beers around $6 - what a bargain when compared to most other restaurants! Lastly, I'm not sure if it's because we are an Asian table and knew what we were doing, but there is very little cooking help from the staff. If you dine here, prepare to roll up your sleeves and cook your own meat! Service is attentive but don't expect them to come to your table every couple of minutes to flip your meat. We came early on a Saturday, like 330pm There were only a few people inside but they had all the tables prepped with side dishes and sauces already, which would be good if they were super busy. Unfortunately, that meant you could tell it was all sitting out awhile. The sauces were kinda filmy on the top and you had to stir them to get to the liquid part They give just a few pieces of each side dish on the table to start but requesting more meant you got plenty more & freshly served. Kimchi was delicious & loved the salad dressing The Daikon beef soup had a great broth. Beef was too fatty for me but Daikon was perfect Meats were well seasoned but the grill is the stickiest I've experienced for this type .. similar to the metal grated one at iron age. I tried to put the oil from the sauce on it just to see if it helped but it didn't. All the sauces stuck to it after every meat so it was blackened and smoking the entire time but they change the grate if you ask it The service was ok. She came around a ton but they don't help you cook or cut or anything and don't really clear dishes until there's no more room and you have to ask for things like water which was fine bc she came back super quick with it but weird to have to ask She did refill the sauces at one point unprompted so that was a nice surprise They only have a few options of each meat type and barely any seafood if you're looking for that. I don't think you'd be the HAPPIEST if you're a vegetarian, but they DO have a lot of veggies available to accompany your meat choices. First off they were busy with it being a Saturday, but we got seated pretty quickly and everyone was very nice and welcoming. Our server Vitor was AMAZING and apparently it's his first week. If anyone who manages the restaurant reads this...Y'all need to keep him here! He was very attentive and quick and managed a handful of tables efficiently. We got plum wine and a love potion cocktail to start our meal off. On to the food... So you get lots of yummy sides like salad, kimchi, cucumbers, radishes, daikon salad, etc. delicious! The salad has a yummy spicy dressing on it that I need to make at home and have on my salads from here on out. We also tried the dumplings and they were so good. The meats were really good. Wow!! This has to be my new favorite KBBQ place around ATL! The service was excellent, and I was pleased by the quality of the meat. All the sides were great, and I have to say the dumplings were some of the best I've ever had. We had a party of four, and they gave us a booth with one grill, but I think the two hour eating time give us plenty of time to try everything we had room for it was also my father's birthday, and I love the little robot they brought out to bring him cake! 3/7/21 Update: After a long break this place, I came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon around 2pm. This place is just super convenient for me as I am always in the Dawsonville area and it's just a short drove off ga400 exit 14. There was barely anybody here which is good. They have a Coviad testing site in the rear so you will need to park up front or half way on the side. While coming in, the super nice female employee took our temperatures. She was wearing a mask and there was plenty of hand sanitizers laying around for you to use. The booths have plastic barrier where they sit you next to each other. I would like to see them skip a booth between seatings as they have plenty of booths. If somebody was to be coughing into the air or sneezing, there is definitely not 6 feet apart between each booth. I do understand why they seat everybody next to each other as they don't have enough employees to be running around. The lunch menu is only $15 and you get almost the same as the dinner menu which is $25. What's missing is the steaks and shrimp. It came with your Korean basic side dishes which included the salad and onion salad. It has the beef soup which is tasty. This place is lacking on side dishes but that's okay for the price. It does have the Bibimbap rice dish that nobody has which is super tasty. As for the meats, I ordered the beef brisket, beef bugoli, pork belly, and lemon chicken. I normally don't eat chicken at Korean bbq spots but their lemon chicken has very good. All the meats tasted very good and for $15, you can't really complain. I had to order 2 beef bugogli as they come in small portions. The sauces are the same as I like the yum yum sauce and the sesame oil with salt sauce. One huge improvement that I saw is they finally have strong/hotter grills. Before it would take 15-20 min to cook the beef brisket, now it's about 5 minutes. I am glad they listened to the suggestions in here. As far as waiter service, it's excellent here with the poor female employee that is running around doing everything. It maybe nice to hire one additional person to help her out in the day time. It appeared she was running the front desk, answering photos, serving the table, cleaning the tables, and changing out the grilles. If management is reading this, give the nice girl a raise please. She kicked butt in customer service helping 3 tables at one time and doing other stuff. Maybe the Taco Mac down the road can take some lessons from her as they can't even get one table with 5-6 employees working in the daytime right... :) I highly recommend this place once again as their lunch AYCE menu is very nicely priced and the quality is spot on!! it was not an enjoyable experience. First, we were seated at a table that had a grill that did not work. We put our meat on to cook and nothing happened. They adjusted to high heat and still nothing. So someone had to cook our food at a different table. I think we were seated here because they knew the grill was not working and therefore we would not eat much food. The food that was cooked at the other table was good but the experience for us should have been different. We should have been able to cook our own food. When we were leaving the owner asked us how it was. I to,d him our grill did not work. He seemed to know that some grills did not work. He said we should have asked to move to another table. The food is great. Well seasoned meats, the bulgogi is the best bang for the money if you like Korean BBQ flavor. I loved the salad dressing which had a sweet and spicy kick to it. Yummy and a great offset to all that meat. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy but was well seasoned- same for the shrimp. The strip was a little too chewy for me, but others liked it. With such great food, it was a shame the service was less than favorable. It wasn't bad, but they were clearly short staffed and the waitresses were struggling to keep patrons happy. This is a typical Korean bbq joint. It's interior is exquisite and there is plenty of seating to the point where a wait doesn't really happen even when the parking lot is packed full. The staff, while accommodating, are not involved in a serving process: this leads to less of an experience that the Korean bbq is supposed to provide at $29.99/ person. While the "all you can eat meat" draws every red-blooded American, the experience of the grill and intentional "thorough cooking" of meats that can cause illness (such as poultry and pork) should be meticulously supervised by trained staff. We had the filet, the spicy chicken, the soy chicken, the beef bulgogi, the steamed rice, the bimbimbap, and the dumplings. The dumplings were a fried version of a potsticker that were similar to an egg roll with no duck sauce in sight. The table sauces were all great, however no salt or pepper. We went with a party of seven on New Year's Eve, and the experience was nothing short of a disaster. The restaurant was severely understaffed, and the service was the worst I've encountered--and I've dined extensively across the U.S. and the world. The use of styrofoam cups was particularly insulting. The entire establishment had only three servers for the whole evening, which was nowhere near adequate for the crowd. Some BBQ stations weren't functioning properly, yet they continued seating people in those areas. Side dishes were served late, adding to the chaos. Serving in a Korean restaurant shouldn't be this difficult, especially since they don't take complex, individual orders like Italian or other cuisines. I sincerely hope they address these issues because, as a blogger, I have the ability to influence their reputation and bottom line. read more
