I saw this place as I was shopping at Super G mart and decided to give it a try. This is a little strip mall with a bunch of Asian restaurants and stores the store front is very unassuming but the inside is nice and quaint. The server sat me right away as I was there just 30 minutes after their opening. By the time I was wrapping up my meal it was more crowded and I witnessed a lot of people come for pick-up. Seems very popular. The menu wasn't too expansive, but it had a bunch of Korean dishes that I would love to return and try. I was in the mood for soup so I ordered their spicy kimchi stew with pork. The food came quickly, again I was there fairly early. The stew was served with banchan (Korean side dishes) and rice. The banchan consisted of broccoli, bean sprouts, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, tofu skins, and marinated potatoes. They all have very different flavors and each of them go well as a side dish with the stew and rice. I prefer kimchi on the spicier side but again that is my personal preference. The kimchi stew came out sizzling and smelled wonderful. I tried all the side dishes while it cooled down a bit. Once I was able to dig in it was packed full of flavor didn't need anything added. I would say it was more mild than spicy but I have a higher spice tolerance than most. Overall I had a pleasant experience enjoyed the service and the food will return with husband and kids to try more of their menu. I hope everything is just as good as the stew was. read more

This is a great location for some solid Korean food located right next to Super G Mart. It is pretty dim in the restaurant which is fine as it's gives off a cozy vibe. In the past 3-4 times I've been here in the past year, the service has ranged from pleasant to downright disrespectful. I've had strong ambivalence about speaking to the service here because of this. The bonchon (small dishes) were very good (and free!) and they were happy to provide more if requested. The food carries hard here which is good as I did enjoy their seafood pajeon (pancake) and their LA galbi. The LA galbi came on the sizzling plate and paired with a bowl of rice. I wished they had more servers as when it became even remotely busy, it became difficult for the 1 server to wait on all the tables. We dined in once and ordered take out from Danji a few times before they updated their menu and redecorated their interior a little in 2023 (?). We chose to dine in again on a rainy day, found they updated their menu. Look like it is catered to younger audience because it includes the trend ingredient, like cheese ramen, cheese kimchi pancake, etc., anyway we wanted to have hot soup/noodle soup to warm up, we saw two dishes marked unavailable in summer - spicy okara (soy pulp) soup and fermented soybean stew, so we decided to give them a try on a rainy winter night. Spicy okara stew tasted like kimchi stew but rich and less spicy, easier on palate for those that cannot handle the spice and sourness from kimchi stew that well. Fermented soybean stew is for those that can eat natto, the server most likely will warn you. It came with layers of flavor, but even I ate natto, the smell can be discouraging, the type of dish that if you like it you love it, if you cannot accept it you hate it. The side dishes are awesome! This is the best, most authentic Korean restaurant that we've tried in NC. The banchan was flavorful and varied, and the food was delicious.  This is what we got: + Beef soon tofu soup: 9/10. My mom (Korean and lived in Queens, NY for decades) said that the broth was very rich and the amount of beef in it was generous. It has the right amount of spice too.  + Sul lung tang: 8/10. My mom said that it tasted like it had been cooked the right way (boiled for hours). + Jja jang myun: 7/10. My husband said it was decent and on the sweeter side.  + Tang soo yook: 8/10. This is the best tang soo yook I've ever had. Light, crunchy, and the portion was very generous. The sauce came on the side, which helped it stay crunchy-fresh. Get this.  + Jjam bbong: 9/10. This is the best jjam bbong I've ever had. The broth was amazingly flavorful, the right amount of spice (medium), and hot dang - I've never had so much seafood in dish before! It came with a couple large shrimps (in shell), crab legs, mussels... They even gave a separate bowl with disposable gloves and scissors for seafood eating. If you like seafood, spice, and noodles (in broth), try this. On our way out, we saw these Korean clay pots that had gochujang (red pepper sauce) and dwen jang (soybean paste) being fermented. I've never seen this in the U.S.!!! We spoke with the chef and she said she started making these because she couldn't find good ones sold in the U.S. l-e-g-i-t. If you are looking for a legit, authentic Korean restaurant with high quality, flavorful ingredients, this is the place for you. If you're looking for a more trendy Korean restaurant that tend to be more Americanized (like Korean BBQ), this isn't it. My mom made me go back even though I swore I wouldn't. She had to see for herself if the food was that bad or not. She got the soup in question from last time and j got the black bean noodles. The verdict is that it was better than before but she said she has never had the soup that way. She said it was too sweet and too salty. The soup shouldn't be sweet at all. She also said the basic ingredients were wrong and she thinks they used the main soup base as they prepare for most dishes and added ingredients to make this as close to the original as it could be. Even such, she said they failed at it and gave it a 3/10. Mine was very salty and sweet. It was also super oily and I couldn't eat it. They did give plenty of seafood which is a plus. I give mine a 5/10. They gave more side dishes than they did last time and service was 100 times better than the last. We were well attended to except she never refilled drinks. Overall I think they're nicer when they see an older Korean face. It was night and day from when I went last time in service and condiments. And the food was better too. She told me she didn't like it at all and said that was the last chance and not to go back. They're overpriced and the food was only so-so. We paid 40+ for a noodle dish and a soup at lunch. We were back out on the food prowl and came to a place that was so impressive. It started when the smells from the kitchen smacked us in the face as we walked in the doors, we knew we were in for a treat. Danji is located off West Market St. in Greensboro and they serve up some of the best Korean food we have discovered. Walking to our seat we couldn't help stare at the layouts on other tables as we passed by. We ordered the Stone Bowl of Bibimbap, it came out sizzling so loud it silenced the dining room. Little confused as to the actual name of this restaurant - Danji or Dasarang? I had it delivered by Door Dash and their website lists it as Dasarang. Anyway, I ordered Kimchi Jeon (a pancake, $9.99), Dan Katsu ( a pork cutlet, $11.99), Kimchi Stew (a stew, $8.99), and Galbi Tang ( a beef short rib noodle soup, $13.99) - whew! The food was really a hit or miss situation - what was good was very good, what wasn't, clearly wasn't - and it was about a 3 to 1 miss!! The Kimchi Jeon carried some real heat but was very, very greasy. The ribs in the Galbi Tang were very tough and chewy, and on their own had no flavor! The Dan Katsu was dry and much overcooked, sauce helped some, but not enough in the final analysis! The small saving grace was the Kimchi Stew, it was simply outstanding - amazing flavor, heat, and competing textures with a very nice broth! This is a dish I'd order again, but it is the only one. I may try to pair it with another choice or two and hope for the best! Not up to it competition down the road, imho! This is very traditional family style Korean resturant. From side dishes served to the entrees we ordered, all of them conveys the sense it's an ethnic resturant. So American friends, don't be surprised if you feel like the dishes taste different from some of the Korean food you typically get from Korean resetuants or k-towns in other major cities. The restaurant name is Darasang. The owner and staffs are really nice and quick. Dining area is clean. They don't have their own restroom. They have a door to a plaza shared restrooms. I remember their sanitation rating is fairly high( more than 90) I ordered beef soon to bu and kimchi jeon. They have their side dishes served first. And every single one of the side dishes was delicious. Unfortunately their beef soon to bu doesn't have much flavor and beef are all grizzles ( I've made soon to bu before, according to recipe, you're supposed to make soup base with sea weed and dry fish, however their soup doesn't have as much taste as you cook it that way. It taste more like water with ingredients and spices boiled in the water.) their kimchi jeon was really good! Very flavorful and crispy. Their rice taste like overnight rice. Dasarang Korean Restaurant is located inside the Super G Mart shopping center (a.k.a. "Fanta City"). This is an authentic and traditional Korean restaurant, low key, and family owned and operated. Though the glass front door and windows say "DaSaRang," the big storefront sign up top does not. It simply reads: "Korean Restaurant." Dasarang is a humble, homey restaurant with a mostly wooden interior. The booths are tall to give some semblance of privacy, typical of Korean restaurants. There's really not much to speak of in terms of ambiance. It's a quiet place with some loyal regulars. There's a Samsung display mounted next to the checkout counter that plays Korean programming. The menu is fairly expanse as there is a little bit of everything when it comes to Korean cuisine. This includes Korean chicken wings (not Korean double-fried chicken, but the chicken wings drenched in lots of sauce), tteokbokki (rice cakes in spicy sauce), haemul pajeon (seafood pancakes), japchae (sweet potato noodles), tonkatsu (Japanese fried pork cutlet), tteok manduguk (rice cake and dumpling soup), jajangmyeon (Chinese noodle dish with black soybean paste), jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup), seolleongtang (beef and beef bone soup -- normally made with ox) and other guks and tangs (soups), sundubu jjigae (spicy tofu stew), bibimbap (mixed rice), seafood, sundae (Korean blood sausage), Korean BBQ (e.g. galbi - short ribs, bulgogi - marinated beef), hot pot, and more. Expect to spend about $10-15 each for most dishes unless you're ordering seafood, meats (BBQ), or hot pot, in which case those are about $15-35 each, though some orders, such as the hot pot, serve two. They do have Korean BBQ. However, the selection is limited and cooking is done on a small portable gas grill at your table. Korean BBQ selections include only the basics: galbi (short ribs), samgyeopsal (pork belly), bulgogi (shredded marinated beef), and gopchang (beef tripe or intestines). If you want Korean BBQ, you must order at least two servings. While I love the wide variety of items on the menu, the food I've had at Dasarang has been OK at best. Granted, my taste buds are different coming from Atlanta and a metro area ripe with terrific Korean cuisine (http://www.yelp.com/list/kamsahamnida-korean-food-in-atlanta-norcross-4). To date, I've haven't tried much Korean food in the Triad and I'm glad Dasarang exists because there weren't any Korean restaurants to speak of when I grew up in Guilford County. To me, the food served at Dasarang very much has a home-cooked quality to it. Banchan is included with every meal, standard of Korean restaurants. These are small side dishes that accompany the meal. At Dasarang, banchan I've tried include kimchi, pickled bean sprouts, daikon radish in spicy sauce, potatoes in a savory brown sauce, and seaweed and cucumbers. I've found the banchan to be lacking in terms of freshness, quality, and taste. Both the kimchi and seaweed have been downers to me (unpleasant tasting), but your mileage may vary. I think it's neat they have tteokbokki. It's spelled "Dduk Bok E" on the menu. This is a popular snack food, particularly among young people, in South Korea. The slices of rice cake resemble pasta. They are served on a plateful of red spicy sauce. Not bad, though I think the rice cakes could be softer (more fresh). Bibimbap can be served in a regular bowl or stone bowl. I recommend a stone bowl, which costs $1 extra, because the rice continues to be cooked on the inside of the bowl. This results in crispy outer edges which are scrumptious. Dasarang's bibimbap comes with a cooked egg, cucumber, carrots, bean sprouts, slices of beef, and rice with a side of gochujang hot sauce. Bibimbap means "mixed rice," so mix everything together in the bowl before eating for best flavor. One of my favorite Korean dishes is mul naengmyeon which is a bowl of ice cold buckwheat noodles (same type of noodles used in Japanese soba). Dasarang's version is A-OK, served with julienned cucumber and Korean pear, and half a hard boiled egg. No spicy mustard sauce nor vinegar are served on the side, though I never asked if they were an option. Normally, those condiments are served with naengmyeon by default and really enhance the flavor. The vinegar can make the tangy broth even tangier. Service is good. Friendly co-owner Sunny Lee (I think that's her name) waits the tables while her husband does the cooking. K.J. Choi, Y.E. Yang, and Sang-Moon Bae are among the Korean PGA Tour golfers who have visited Dasarang for a meal. Their pictures with the owners are displayed proudly on the shelves behind the register. I'm really surprised by their 4 star rating. We came in on a Saturday for lunch. When we were seated, we weren't given any menus. I had to go track one down. Then an hour passed before we received any food. They weren't that busy, but they were clearly struggling to take orders and bring out food. A seated couple even left after waiting for some time. I would've too if I hadn't just driven out of my way for some Korean food. They should really hire more people. As for their food, I wish I could say it was worth the wait... but it wasn't. Their yook gae jang was not that great. There were very few pieces of meat. I really had to dig to find them. My kids actually spit out pieces of their galbi, because they were too hard to chew. The food came out quickly, with four delicious banchan side dishes. We both really enjoyed our food! The bibimbap had a perfect crust of rice on the bottom, and a delicious runny yolk fried egg. My seafood stew had a fair amount of seafood (clams and shrimps) for a $10 lunch. I took off one star because the ventilation inside isn't the best and the smell of Korean food stays on your clothes and hair for awhile after. Danji is hands down the best Korean food you can get in the Triad area. Their banchan (side dishes) are some of the freshest and best quality you can find. It even included a side of Korean mini pancakes which are typically separate appetizers you would have to order and pay for! My friend and I ordered and split the "jjampong" (spicy seafood noodle soup) and "jjajangmyun" (black bean noodles) - the ying and yang of Korean/Chinese Fusion. My other friends ordered the "donkatsu" (pork cutlet) - fried and moist to perfection - and shared a "budaejigae" (Korean Hot Pot) for a perfect pairing. I've tried Korean food in more Korean-populated areas like Atlanta, DMV, and NYC, yet Greensboro should be proud to call Danji its own. New management! I never went to this restaurant under the old management so I can't compare it to how it is now. A group of friends and I recently went one night for dinner. I think the top dishes at this restaurant is their tangsooyook (sweet & sour pork) and jajangmyun (black bean noodles). Their jajangmyun was better than I expected - very flavorful and delicious. The only thing I was disappointed with was their lack of banchan (side dishes). I expected a wide range (especially during dinner) but it was very minimal. Even though they are fried they get kind of sticky. I was expecting a more crunchy texture. Once again, you can't really feel the pork's existence. Rice cake - so spicy that you can't really eat it. I had my birthday here and there were some great things and some not so great things. They are not set up for parties larger than six, which I wish they would have told me when I made a reservation for ten. We had to sit at separated tables and they said we couldn't push them together. My friends who had to sit in the booth felt left out so they pushed the tables together. I'm a wuss and didn't want to stand up to my friends to say they didn't want us to do that, but they said it was because they wouldn't be able to hand us the food and they easily could. The food was delicious, so good that this is what gets them 4 out of 5. Otherwise it was not an ideal experience for a party. Service was very friendly but they ignored us after we got our food, even when we tried to get their attention, my friend had to go to the front to ask about paying.
