    Bibimbop
    Dan H.

Been to the Issaquah highlands location and was pleasantly surprised to know there's a second location! Food was solid. We ate everything. Ordered the stone bibimbop, Mandu soup, and beef bulgogi. Comes with refillable banchan- the Kimchi is amazing. Would definitely come back. Parking is easy in the lot out front and we were seated right away on a Friday night. They were pretty busy but we still able to get their attention for things we needed. I'd say somewhat less warm and proactive in terms of checking in, but that's not a must. Ambiance is fine. The booths are a bit awkward and are much too high for the tables so you sort of have to lean over the entire meal, but that's a minor point. Inside otherwise felt bright and relatively spacious despite being quite busy! Last call for food at 9pm (at least on Friday).

Finally got to try this Korean restaurant on the Island. I had the bibimbop lunch and my coworker had the bulgogi lunch. All were solid! I wish there were more mushroom and spinach in the rice but it was still delicious. It's a great addition to the choices on Mercer Island.

Love the food, hate the table layout. Came here before the official opening because Korean cuisine is amazing and was seated in the middle two top tables. The restaurant layout itself looks a bit haphazard - a freezer for ice cream is in the main dining area, an oversized television consumes the east wall. The restaurant has no character, no ambiance but - does it matter? Seriously ambiance is nice but that's the garnish. Give me service and food. Service was solid. Friendly and overly polite. There were some soft opening hiccups but nothing big. The food was delicious! I ordered the Rose Udon and oh wow it was wonderful. The noodles were toothy, the sauce creamy, the sausage a delight! I loved it! Every bite was delicious. The rain on my parade was the table arrangement. With a freezer on one end and the pony wall on the other end people did not have a clear path of exit. This resulted in people trying to slip between our table and the empty table next to us which resulted in multiple jostlings. It was disconcerting, irritating, and disruptive. I hated it. But the food? Delicious.

Wowee - what did we do to deserve you?!!! An excellent full menu Korean restaurant on Mercer Island! The stone Bi Bim Bap was solid. Excellent crispy K-fried chicken. Generous portioned mackerel. Yuk Gae Jang was a hearty, soul warming affair. And a plethora of banchan. Service was so friendly and helpful! Clean and bright space. Love it!!!

Good place to get Korean food in Mercer Island! They have a huge menu of authentic items, good portion sizes, good presentation, good service. Overall, I highly recommend and I would come back.

Finding consistently good Korean food in WA been challenging, so I was delighted to discover an excellent Korean restaurant on the island. The service was also great! Just a heads up that they are closed on Tuesdays.

yum yum yum!!!! my family and i were waiting for weeks for danji to open ever since we saw the sign go up XD we came in on their second day and were seated right away. the space has really opened up and there's lots of seating now. we ordered and food came out super quickly. everything tasted great -- the fried chicken we got was super crispy and moist, and the wings were sizeable. i will say with a wet sauce it can be a tad bit salty, but not terribly so. the bibimbap was yummy as well, but i would've liked the egg to be more runny; it was pretty much fully cooked. loved the cheese tteokbokki and soup we got as well. of course the banchan was delish too! overall pretty solid spot for mercer island and im glad we have a restaurant that's open later now. obviously some items are a bit pricey, but expected for the island.

Great Korean food- what a treat to have it on the island! Service was also great. I've been to the Issaquah location so was excited to have it come to Mercer Island.

I was worried about the price because of its location in downtown Bellevue, but at ~50 a person and for the quality and quantity I received it is far worth. I never had to wait very long to get sat, and the entrance is a little hard to find. It's located upstairs a separate retail area. The ambiance is only decent, but it's not crazy loud. The service is prompt, but most of the ordering is done on the iPad anyway. You can order whatever you want, including rice, lettuce, etc. You also get one wagyu per person. The pork jowls and marinated kalbi are my favorite. If you like squid I highly recommend getting that too. The banchan side dishes are copious and refillable. Our biggest qualm is that grill could be hotter. Perhaps it is a means of controlling your pacing, but we want the meat NOW! Haha They do charge extra if you don't finish your food, but that's never happened to us.

For $40+, the meat quality wasn't bad, but the slices were super thin (looked like meat for hotpot) and cooked way too fast. I'd leave the meat on the grill for maybe 15 seconds and it would already start getting charred. That part could honestly be user error on my end, so I'd still be willing to give this place another try. I will say their banchan was really good and probably one of the highlights of the meal. Overall, I just left feeling a little disappointed, especially for the price. If you do decide to come here for AYCE, I'd probably recommend going for one of the higher tiers to get a better experience.

I love, love, love Crawlspace!…read more While I've tried many items on the menu - the North Shore Shrimp, the Crawlburger, the curry special, the tacos - I always go back to the Korean fried chicken sandwich. I am hopelessly addicted. It is crunchy on the outside, tender chicken, juicy without being greasy and an incredible array of savory flavor it is the best fried chicken sandwich I've eaten. The butter mochi is a "must" for any salted caramel fan. The cake is soft, light, and delish but that caramel sauce is to die for. Just delicious!! I love the cocktails. Yes, they are not inexpensive but pretty much the same price everywhere else on the Island. I find them to be delicious and balanced. They serve a killer Hemingway daiquiri. I have always had great service here. The staff is friendly! When they get busy the service will slow. And they do get busy, especially around 6-8 PM ramping up during the 5 PM hour. Our drinks were almost the same price as the food, and the total came out close to $100 (with tip and taxes), not worth it in my opinion. I don't mind paying more if the flavors are exceptional, but here it felt like we were just paying Mercer Island prices rather than for standout food. Crawspace Wings (Garlic Buffalo): The food came out very quickly, which usually makes me question how fresh it is. It tasted like it may have been prepped ahead of time and reheated, then tossed in sauce. There was no real garlic flavor, just standard buffalo. Mac Salad: This tasted a bit off, almost like it had been sitting for a while. I don't mind that it's served cold since that's expected, but the flavor was bland and underwhelming. Bulgogi Tacos: The portion of meat was generous, which I appreciated. However, the meat itself was quite salty. Based on other reviews, it seems like the flavor can swing between too sweet or too salty. Either way, it feels overpriced for what you get. Lilikoi Mai Tai: This drink leaned heavily on a nutty flavor, with very little passion fruit coming through. For an island-style cocktail, I expected it to be a bit sweeter and more vibrant, but that wasn't the case. Overall, it missed the mark and wasn't very enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend it unless you specifically prefer a nuttier profile, similar to a Long Island style drink. Overall, I wouldn't return. The pricing doesn't align with the quality or execution.

The lollipop chicken was nothing like the menu's photo. The serving was excessive for an appetizer. The garlic was all concentrated on top and overly potent, while the breading had no flavor. The room was surprisingly noisy despite the restaurant having a lot of empty tables.

I also had the sake flight- which was a great way to taste each of the sake! My partner had a beer that he enjoyed. The server was quick, responsive and friendly. I went two days in a row with friends to try a few different items. This place is great, all of us (4 of us) agree that we'd definitely come back again and again. It's a fairly small restaurant, but they are very accommodating for small parties and try to keep a couple tables open for smaller groups. Groups of 4+ need a reservation. The atmosphere is very quaint and intimate. The people dining next to me leaned over when they saw my food and asked what I got, and that felt very natural (I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time, but it was nice). The service was good. They are kind and welcoming and helpful. Now for the food... first night, my friends and I got the spicy pork bulgogi and (not pictured) the regular bulgogi as an entree, as well as the jeon sampler as an appetizer (which came with a fish and kimchi, as well as a scallion pancake like dish. It was VERY good. I am not super familiar with korean food other than kbbq, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, it was excellent. I loved the spicy pork (it will be my go to). The rice, salad, and miso soup were excellent with it as well. Afterward, I felt satisfied but not absolutely stuffed. Night 2, my friend and I got the Japchae with chicken, the pork mandoo, and I got the salt & pepper pork belly. The pork mandoo was really good, one of the better pan fried dumplings I've ever had. I'm a pork belly fiend, and it was good, I enjoyed it, but the spicy pork was much better. I saw other people get the kimchi fried rice and that looked amazing, as well as the bibimbap in the stone (or clay? i can't remember) pot. I'll definitely be back to try those. With both appetizers, I wish there was a little more, but they're starters, they aren't supposed to be huge, so I was ok with it. Overall, it's on the edge of madison park proper, what's not to like about the location? The food is great, the service is great, the atmosphere is very nice. Highly recommend.
