I have never found myself in an accident that requires extensive repairs so I went into this blind. I was referred to Danlar by a close friend. They were such a pleasure to work with, from beginning to very end. Truly, Gail was absolutely amazing. Aside from the fact that she called regularly to give me updates on my car- she handled my rental car return for me. And a day later, I realized I forgot an important item in my rental and she managed to retrieve it for me. She went above and beyond what one might expect of standard customer service. My car was stolen and recovered in Albuquerque. We choose Danlar on Alameda to repair our vehicle. We were very pleased with the way they handled everything. Gayle called us twice a week with updates, which was greatly appreciated They kept our insurance company updated so we rarely had to contact them. BEWARE! they work with shady techs and service people! The owner refuses to pay or take any phone calls! Don't take a job for them or give them any business. Sad how greedy and shady this industry can be! Next time, leans will be put on the vehicles. Lesson learned! read more

At first they seemed fairly professional and helpful. As I got to know the mechanics working on my car, they started wanting to talk to me more, rather than talk about my cars issues. It got to the point where one of the mechanics was texting me late at night and was very creepy and unprofessional. After many of those instances, I had to bring a male friend every time just to feel safe. I had to go in to Danlar about 5 times just for a taillight and lock change. To this day my lock still doesn't work and it was $400 down the drain. Will not be going to that location again and will not recommend to any female friends in particular. read more

I'm not very happy with my experience at Danlar, or service after the sale . Several small clips broken, or just left off. Vin decal on door jamb not installed. Several excuses as to why. Quality control should be performed by any professional facility, not left for the customer to discover after the fact. Very poor communication , the Vin tag needed to be replaced, dozens of phone calls to Raul with messages left , he seldom called back. When questioned It was always a new excuse as to why the Vin sticker has not arrived. 6 months later and the Vin decal finally arrived and was installed. WE popped the trunk looking for the clips that were supposed to be replaced, and they were still not done. I am very concerned about the quality of the repair if small details are so easily missed. I was in from out of town and had a rush emergency to buff a scratch out of a vehicle within hours. I'm new to Albuquerque and scrambled to find a body repair shop when the front end of my Hyundai Elantra needed real work, real fast. The combination of location (I went to the one on 1st S.) and good reviews here on Yelp persuaded me to give Danlar a try. So glad I did because I had an absolutely delightful experience from start-to-finish. They're great on the phone as well as in person. I got the option of doing a quick, inexpensive repair in a few hours OR "the right way" which would have involved replacing the entire front bumper. Since the repair cost was on me, I took the quick, inexpensive route with informed consent, i.e., knowing that the repair might not last forever. Happy with the results. Also, my car seemed cleaner than it was when I dropped it off. Hope I don't need bodywork again but will head back to Danlar if I do. read more

At first they were very polite and helpful. Once they worked with insurance they realized they could buy an "Excellent" car, if only it was totaled, for next to nothing. The repair estimate doubled and the insurance devalued the vehicle, to the total point. We went to pick it up for another estimate and it had been vandalized, parts in were removed and stolen were time and tools were required to remove. Danlar now refuses any calls to find out if the parts, removed at their shop, are still there. They fixed the damage caused by the vandalism, as they neglected to care for our vehicle, with substandard parts. They are known for doing excellent work and highly recommended. I hope my experience is the exception, not the norm. Caveat Epmtor! read more

01-18-18 - My vehicle has been back to Danlar twice since the original repairs. The first time I had to bring back as they did not put my door handle back together properly and they also broke a plastic piece that covered the screw on the door and just left the broken pieces of plastic in the door pocket. I had the car a week and washed. There were suds building up under the back window. They did not put the trim back on the window properly and they also scratched the black paint on the trim when they put back on the first go around. So..... it is back at Danlar now getting the trim repainted and installed. WOW, I am happy other people have had a good experience with them, I am not one of them!!! read more

If you have a nice car like a BMW - DO NOT TAKE IT TO DANLAR, I REPEAT DO NOT. They do not know how to work on these cars. I gave Danlar four chances to fix a minor ding on my bumper and the first two times they tried to fix the ding and a couple of week later there was an indentation where the ding used to be. The third time they replaced the bumper but installed it incorrectly so my trunk would not close. I was told it would take about twenty minutes to fix it and 1 hr and a 1/2 later it was still not correct. I finally took it to Loid's Rides and they found many broken clips and bent parts which Danlar had installed. Loid's fixed the car correctly. If you have a BMW take it to Loid's Rides - Don't waste your time like I did taking it to Danlar even if insurance recommends them (Liberty Mutual Recommended Danlar). read more

Would Have been better off letting my neighbors 8 year old kid fix it! Had to take my car back 3 times. It was my insurance adjuster that funnily had to make them do the work right. I was without my car off and on for almost 3 months. There was almost no commination. when I called on their 3 attempt to get an update, I was told that the car had been done for almost a week! I was told they called and left a message but there are no phone records of this. This is not the only review that expresses "no commination". I felt that I was being punished for getting my insurance adjuster involved. I was told that they had ordered the wrong parts on two separate occasions for two separate parts. REALLY?! I hope I never get in another accident, but if I do I'll skip Danlar and just take it to a professional. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. The work is good, but I would expect that if they are billing my insurance 5 grand and making the car look like it wasn't in an accident is a standard for a collision place so that isn't even being taken in to account for my review. Now why they are getting such a bad review is because my car took 3 weeks longer than the expected time of repair. They pushed back the date on 4 separate occasions. They didn't call me to notify me on any of these occasions either. I would like at least some notice because every time I would organize a ride so I could drop off my rental car and get a ride there. I would call them every time it was supposed to be ready. They would tell me that it's being pushed back and I would ask why they didn't call me and every time they would say they were busy. If you're too busy to give me a call to let me know my car won't be ready then hire another employee. The last time I went to call them (because for the 4th time my car was "supposed to be ready" I didn't get a call) and got no answer I couldn't get a hold of them the entire day and my voice mail I left them went unanswered all day and I left it around 1 pm. I drove down there to see what was up and they said it would be ready in 2 more days and they were too busy to call me or answer my many phone calls even though when I got there the ladies in the front were socializing and had their kids there playing. This place looks great but is entirely unprofessional and I will NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone. Absolutely awful experience. read more

I got rear ended and had to have my car towed in through my insurance on a Friday, I was told I would hear back from them Monday afternoon with an estimate. I called and left numerous messages and never had a response. I finally received an automated text message the next Friday (a week later) telling me that it would take them another 3 weeks for my car to be fixed. NOT ONCE have I talked to the person there working on my case with the insurance. I received another text message saying that they were pushing it out another 3 days. I have been without a vehicle for a month now and have had the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I would not recommend them. read more
