I am so bummed that I can't support this local business. I brought my daughter sandals in to be repaired. The strap had broken from the base of the shoes and needed to be tucked back into the shoe and re-in-forced. We discussed the process and I paid $40 up front for the service. I feel like shoe repair and upholstery businesses are such a highly skilled finesse service and that the skills they have are to be respected. My expectations were not too high but my goodness I feel like I could have done what he charged me $40 for. I asked him why he said he couldn't tuck the strap into the sandal so it looks better and he said he just couldn't. So what I paid $40 for was sloppy glued straps that look terrible and will probably break again soon. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. I bought new shoes and decided to take them to a shoe repair guy to shorten the buckle string. I asked him if he was capable of doing this job, and he said, Absolutely. A week later, I got my light blue shoes with an ugly black thread that he decided to use, and the buckle was upside-down, so I can no longer close it. I asked him to fix it, and he did. Now I have ugly green leather patches on my blue shoes and the buckle is completely glued. I can't wear shoes like this. read more

I strongly advise against going here. I took a pair of well loved Birkenstocks here to be resoled. It was the second pair I purchased and I was attempting to extend the life of the shoe vs. buying a new pair because the sole was worn down. The owner told me he could easily resole the shoes. When I picked them up they looked fine, but one I got home I took a closer look. The sole was not completely glued down in several spots. In addition the cork shoe bed had been damaged on the back heel of the shoe and the leather, where it connects to the cork bed, had been shaved down when the sole was being what I assume cut to fit the shape of the shoe. I took the shoes back and explained my frustration with the damage to the shoes. The owner said he would fix them and to come back a few days later to get the shoes. When I returned, I found his solution to the issue was to cover the shaved leather ( which originally was a beautiful oiled leather) in brown shoe polish. He also covered the rest of the shoe in that same polish, completely changing the actual color of the shoe. The sole still was not glued down in all areas. When I pointed it out, he grabbed the shoes from me and said he'd fix them. He sprayed adhesive on them, getting it all over the sole and cork bed, making an absolute mess. It was apparent he was very agitated as he handed the shoes back to me after spraying glue on them. I had my young daughter with me so I took the shoes and left. I got home and tried to see if I could clean the glue off the cork and sole. As I did, the polish he had put on them started running and turned the white sole red. I called him and requested a refund. He told me to bring them back in, that he was going put a new sole on them and change the cork. After two trip and being highly unsatisfied with the craftsmanship, I told him I'd just prefer he give me a refund. He screamed at me that he would not give me a refund and then hung up on me. I strongly advise against going here to have your shoes fixed. I am out $98.00 and have a pair of shoes I can no longer use. Really wish I would have spend 50 bucks more and just got a new pair of shoes. read more

I took my sandals in to have a strap repaired and the owner did a great job. Then, I took boots in to replace the insoles. The owner charged me $45. When I went to pick up my boots, one of the insoles was glued but folded under at the foot bed. I asked that he repair it before I left, but he said his hand was too big to fit in the boot. He asked me to smear the glue around with my hand instead, which seemed creepy. I told him it was not acceptable and with glue on my hands I left my boots with him, hoping they would be in better shape when I came back two days later. However, that was not the case. He allowed the glue to dry in clumps on the inside of the foot bed! Again I told him it was not acceptable, even though he said the clumps would wear down. So, he removed the damaged insole, took a packaged insole off the rack and glued it into the boot. I took the boots and quickly left hoping that they will still be wearable!! Needless to say, I will never go back! read more

The owner is super nice and chatty like I am. He designs his own shoes and handbags, but I was there to get new heels put on my one pair of heels that I can wear without becoming crippled. Shoe repair is not an inexpensive thing to do, so I am very deciphering on which shoes are worth the $$ to fix as opposed to just buying new shoes. Black pumps that don't hurt were worth fixing-and he did a great job. You do have to pay for your repair ahead of time (he says to ensure you actually come to get your shoes), and I am sure if I wasn't happy with the repair he would fix it. Not sure how often I will come here as I am not a big shoe shopper (just a voyer). Glad to support a local business and maybe others will have good experiences here as well. read more

I took my boots in for a repair on the heel. The repair job that he did left my boot in worst condition than before. When I first saw my boot I thought are you kidding me! that's what you charged me $20.00 for?!? I expressed my opinion to the repair man in which he disagreed. I picked up a pair of shoes today that were supposed to simply have the front of the sole reglued. It was $15 but OK, I didn't want to do it so fine. I paid. I picked them up today and they look awful. The black glue leaked all out of the front and is smeared on the sides of the sole. It looks terrible. It screams, hey look who tried to glue her own shoes and did a terrible job. Literally, I could have done better with a glue gun. read more

I was quoted a price for repairing 3 stitches on my leather ottoman. When I picked it up,he pointed out one corner which was done fairly well. Unfortunately, I was in a rush and did not check the other areas. I took it home and realized he had not fixed one of the stitches and he had left glue all over the other corner! When I called back he refused to fix the 3rd stitching which was included in the original quote! If you go here, just be very clear what is being done and what you are paying for. Then double check before you leave the store! Usually small businesses are honest, and strive to be fair and helpful. This man was the opposite. Overall, I was disappointed in the quality of the work. I resoled a pair of shoes and shortened some belts. The shoes had glue residue all over. One of the belts was not properly fixed -- the hole in the newly shortened belt where the prong comes out was not correctly punched. Instead of the usual oval shape, he punched a regular circular hole. The prong could not move. When I pointed out the problem, his quick remedy was not much better. For the price, I will be exploring other options in the future. read more

I only took my shoes here for a repair once, and will never do so again. The work was incredibly sloppy, so it was clear there was no pride in his work and he just does things fast. The shoes looked awful - a real hack job. He also charges far too much for things. While I was in his shop, another shopper came in to complain about the job he had done on a pair of their shoes. Wish I had found this shop ages ago. I wear a large size shoe, love flats, but never found comfortable, cute designs. I hit the jackpot today. My husband took a belt in for repair which was done in just a couple of hours and for a very reasonable price. Service excellence! I went in to pick it up and ended up buying two pairs of adorable flats. One had to be stretched a bit and it was done quickly and is a perfect fit now. TERRIBLE! I brought in a nice leather belt for the simple task of punching a few more holes through it. The man marked the dots in BLUE PEN, and seeing that they were completely uneven, I told him not to punch it there. After punching holes in the appropriate places, he tried to stain the blue pen marks back to a brown leather color with leather polish, ultimately leaving it waaayy worse.
