I generally tend to scout out Brooks suppliers so I dropped into Footwear etc. to see what their selection was like. This location carried the '25 Brooks for men, but was a bit behind for the women's section and seemed to only carry the '24 and before. The new '25's/'26's have a bit of a futuristic large white heel so they're easy to spot. While the service was rather neutral as the associates were busy, the prices were comparable with what's online for both the shoes and feetures socks, so I could absolutely see myself stopping in when I need something immediately. I was referred here by my foot Dr to get fitted for better shoes last month. Melissa was a big help in finding a really good pair for me. I got on this cool machine that evaluated my feet which would help her find the proper fitting shoes based on my feet. Pretty cool! She also was able to email it to me so I have for future reference. She brought out 4 pairs of sneakers for me and inserts that would help my feet feel more supported in them. And they really do make a difference. I opted for the Hokas - I was really trying not to get them but they were the most comfortable ones out of the 4. The inserts are expensive and so are Hokas but I did get them so my feet can get relief. Update: I have worn them several times, it does take a bit of getting used to walking in them but these shoes hug my feet and it takes the pain away. It's definitely a different feeling from the other sneakers I've been wearing (Allbirds) which I loved but found I needed much better support. This place has wonderful shoes, supportive flip flops (Oofos), sandals, inserts and pretty handbags as well. What a great sales lady. Her name is "Bri"! When you go there ask for her. She goes above and beyond! I found a pair of shoes online from Footwear etc. I wanted to be sure (1) store was legitimate (2) shoes were new in org box (3) the actually had them in my size. So I called the Walnut Creek Store! Bri answered the phone. She's wonderful! Took the time to find out what I wanted and since I wasn't in the computer system, she explained, in a very nice way, that I'd need to come down to store. So I did. So glad I did! She again, took the time to call each of the stores that had the last pairs (2 pairs) to make sure they were available. Imputed me in the system. Gave me "free" shipping. And was so professional, kind, and curious, I was very impressed. This was on one of the busiest days (Mother's Day) and store was full of customers. We had a great experience at Footwear, Etc. today thanks to Bri! My mom has multiple foot issues -- neuropathy, bunions, and other concerns -- and finding a shoe that's both functional and stylish is always a challenge. She's a size 8W in Orthofeet sneakers, but her feet are tricky: a wide forefoot, narrow ankles and toes. Bri knew the store's inventory inside and out. She listened carefully to my mom's needs and knew exactly which shoes would (and wouldn't) work with her custom orthotics. She brought the styles my mom asked for and suggested others that fit even better -- and she was right. You can tell they carry quality brands that really cater to foot health, not just looks. Even as the process got long and detailed (I'm a pretty patient person, and even I was ready to lose my ), Bri stayed calm, focused, and professional. Her service made all the difference. I have plantar fasciitis so my podiatrist recommended this store to find sandals. I was assisted by, I believe, Scott, who himself has plantar fasciitis. Scott was extremely helpful and patient. I bought a very comfy pair of Aetrex sandals which were ordered for me and delivered promptly. The store did not have them in stock. This is a quaint little shop tucked into a shopping center in Walnut Creek. I am slightly disappointed by the service I received today at Footwear, Etc. I came looking for a specific pair of running shoes, and was helped by an older gentleman. After being kind and sizing me and bringing me the brand of shoes I was looking for, I decided to purchase the brand. While looking at the styles for the brand of shoe I wanted, I realized I was not vibing with any of the selection in the store and wanted to order the style and color I like online. I asked the man helping me and he said: "this is all we have." When the gentleman realized I was not going to make a purchase due to lack of selection in store, he got huffy and treated me poorly. I even asked him to size my mother as she wanted to purchase a pair of shoes in store, and he instead angrily walked away into the back room, never to be seen again. I left quite confused and disappointed. I'm not sure why I was mistreated because I genuinely came all the way to Walnut Creek to specifically purchase a pair of running shoes from this store. It was out of my control that the styles and colors offered in store were not appealing. I was not about to pay $160 for a shoe I don't like! Please reevaluate your customer service, Footwear, Etc. because I am not interested in visiting this store again after my disappointing experience. Today was my second visit and I bought another two pairs of shoes (boots this time); the first purchase was 2 pairs of tennis shoes. I've never had "foot" issues and have developed plantar fasciitis something fierce in my left foot... UGH! I was looking for a pair of shoes to wear to Europe. I got a pair of Naot shoes and thought, I don't know if these will hold up for a lot of walking on a European trip. Well, I wore only these shoes the entire 3 week trip, and averaged around 12,000 steps a day. Never once did my feet hurt, no blisters, felt like I could keep walking!
