This is not really a review, but more of a comment. Darcy's is a neighborhood pub that I go to on occasion. I was at Darcy's to watch game 3 of the world series, when the National Anthem plaeyd, the 60 people in the pub all stopped what they were doing, stopped talking and stood silently while the Anthem played. What a welcomed surprise! Came here last night with my two daughters and Uncle Richard. All food was great. Beer was cheap, plentiful and cold. Thoroughly enjoyed their version of French onion soup. This is a decent no thrills neighborhood bar. The beer is cheap and the pizza is decent however the service was slightly slow and not very friendly (however, to be fair, not unpleasant either...just average). Try the honey mustard chicken pizza if you go here. That alone pushed this to a 3 star review rather then a 2 star review. read more

Fine pub food -- excellent meat loaf and mashed potatoes. The beer on tap is good, cold, relatively inexpensive and comes in three sizes up to 23 ounces. The place is incredibly dark, however, and the seats are a bit rickety. When we went, we went with a large party and somehow they forgot about my wife's order, but the waitress got it made fast. read more

Worse food and service ever. First waitress made a sighing noise cause all I wanted to drink was water. Clam chowder was very good. My date had tips which he though were pretty good but it was the quantity of a luncheon meal. I had fish and chips which also was the size of a luncheon portion. It tasted of older fish and and being over cooked. There was nothing sweet about it and the batter was thin like frozen fish, yes that is what the fish also tasted like a bad fish stick.The waitress never once came back to us so I picked at my food since I was hungry. At the end of the meal I told her about the fish and she simply picked up the plates and walked away as she was dismissing me. She came back presented our bill and said we not doing anything about it since you ate most of the meal. Seriously if you came over I would not have had to. I really didnt expect them to do anything about it just wanted them to know how the food was. I was in the middle of saying something to her and she just walked away. Guess what NO tip for you bitch..Someone earlier said if you get the tall skinny older brunette ask for someone else well they were right she is the rudest and clearly let us know that waiting on tables was not what she wanted to do. She made it very clear to us that if she had her way she wouldnt leave the bar area.Quicker easier money in there and no accommodating anyone. read more

Darcy's is now leaving the definition of dive bar... unfortunately everything looks good until you go to the dreaded men's room.. it's still the pit and disgusting, some people actually go outside and relieve themselves... its amazing that the owner was able to do these huge renovations and not be required by code to update the bathroom... it's doubtful there were any permits filed for this work because they never had any posted. They spent tons of money on an outside patio with a stone wall, they put in a new bar and a whole new mahogany looking wall with paneling. They ripped out the booths(huge bummer), except for a corner one and brought in high top tables which are not meant to be sat at for long periods of time since the stools have no backs... last night the place stunk like wet paint so our group split and went to the Fours. It looks like they are trying to go upscale and be more of a sports bar.. but something is missing... and sometimes good things shouldn't be changed... time will tell with this place... I can only hope that at least clean up that bathroom with new fixtures and hose down the whole thing with Lysol... read more

I have eaten numerous times at Darcy's pub with my son. The food is great! One of the best chicken pot pies I've ever had and the mashed potatoes are awesome! My only gripe is that the appetizer sampler is on the skimpy side for the price. Back to the positives, the mud pie is amazing, a flash back to the 80's, as is the decor but it's quite homey. I tried their takeout for the first time the other day. We ordered 2 burgers, one with onion rings, the second with fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly as we had ordered them. We also modified our order, no celery on the Buffalo burger etc. Everything was exactly as ordered and delicious, very impressive for a takeout order!! read more

Be careful of the overall Yelp rating as one yelper has posting a five star rating three times. I went here for pizza and beer. We decided to also order an appetizer: Darcy platter. It was all greasy fried stuff. Nothing special at all.....could have made better at home. The pizza was just OK. It was greasy....that tells me that they don't use quality cheese. The crust could have been better as well because it seamed like it was dough that hadn't been risen in a while, so there was no real flavor to the dough. This place seems like a local pub that doesn't want to aspire to anything but that. The food and cleanliness of the place can definitely be improved upon. My table was actually dirty with encrusted matter on it. The table needed a good scrubbing. I can only imagine what the kitchen cleanliness looks like if my own table had dirt on it. This was old dirt...not someone who just forgot to wipe the table. I wouldn't bother with this place when you have so many other good choices of where to have a pizza and beer. Sorry Darcy's. It's time to improve your image. Clean your restaurant better. Pay attention to the quality of your food as well. read more

I saw all of the good reviews on here for this place, so we came and I honestly feel like I just ate straight up trash! NEVER come here! The pizza is chewy af and the nachos look like straight up vomit! Do NOT waist your money unless you enjoy eating straight up horse shit! Just left and that was probably the best part of our visit, sadly. Let me say, I am a fan of the food for the most part, but clearly take out is the only way you get any service or attention in there. It seemed as though our server, Danielle, went out of her way to be exceptionally rude. We were served cold clam chowder, not necessarily her fault but, we were so hungry we will let that slide. We waited for 15 mins for a refill for a coke and a water. After, we finished our pizza and needed a box and our check, we then waited about 15 and my boyfriend went up to the server standing at the register and he was told "2 mins" which became more like another 10, he got up again and she saw him and went into the kitchen for another 5 mins. All the while, the other sever saw us sitting there and did not acknowledge us either, j know we weren't your table, but come on! Meanwhile, there were other tables waiting too, however the folks who came in for takeout got all sorts of "so sorry for the wait" " everything all set?" And so on. Note: not a single takeout order was correct and it was Danielle working the phone, coincidence? I think not. Anyhow, this was a disaster, waiting a half hour to even receive our check, I would recommend taking out, but if you were working for tips, wouldn't you take care of the tables leaving the tips and not spend so much energy on the take out crew?? read more

What a rip off. We ordered take out for work tonight and the menu states that the sandwiches comes with a hearty serving of fries. FIVE, count 'em, FIVE fries...don't call that a hearty serving! I ordered a BLT on Toasted Wheat. There was all of 2 slices of bacon and one leaf of romaine lettuce and two slivers of tomato on the regular sized slices of wheat bread. WHAT A RIP OFF! Won't order from there again! Rather spend $6 on KFC or MickeyD's at least 6 Bucks will go a lot further at those places! read more

The food is great the only problem I have is with the bathrooms the ladies in the bar use the bathroom also so when i was there with my little child I had to stand in front of anotjer party eatin g their dinner so I could wait in line for the ladies room I happened to feel very ucomfortable and might not come back because if it was my table would not be happy every time someone had to use the ladiesa room Then again my husband took my son over to the mens room and heard to men in there talking so they waited and to make a long story short they left and my son never used the restroom my husband took one look said I should report this and then decided to not use it because he waited with our son in the bar to use it first of all why we had to go into the bar no clue with a three year old then to get there and have to wait outside and then to have the men walk out the door and tell us to be careful food awsome but this atmosphere not family oriented sorry!!!!!! wish it was because looking for cheap eats were you cab bring children read more
